Open Letter to Donald Trump

You want to be president again? PLEASE show us how you plan to do it.

I doubt you’ll see this letter, but as someone who has been praying for you since you came down the escalator in 2015, I’m going to share my heartfelt concerns.

From the moment you announced your candidacy, all the forces of hell mobilized against you. You fought them every day, and you revealed who the progressives really are. You exposed their hatred for this country and our Constitution. You began to drain The Swamp, dismantling the bureaucracy of government to free the economy to grow. You leveled the playing field.

The economy grew, unemployment plummeted, wages went up, and gas prices went down. You championed freedom of religion around the world. You were the most pro-life president ever! You made the military stronger, and America’s enemies feared us once again.

Everything went great … until China unleashed COVID onto the world. Hindsight is always 20/10. You had people around you who were working against you. Dr. Anthony Fauci, General Mark Milley, FBI Director James Comey, teachers unions, and others undermined your presidency right under your eyes.

Some tried to warn you. The Patriot Post and The Heritage Foundation told you not to become the face of COVID. But your ego would not let you stay out of the spotlight, being in front of the TV cameras day after day. The Democrats would use that to bring you down in 2020. If you saw it coming, you didn’t do anything about it.

Everything good that happened during your presidency, you took the credit. Any mistakes were deflected onto others. You became blinded by the adoration of the crowds. But there is only one who deserves our praise and adoration. God is the One who put you in the Oval Office. Franklin Graham told you that on Election Night. God also tells us, “I will not share My Glory with another” (Isaiah 48).

When the 2020 election rolled around, different states used the fear of COVID to illegally pass regulations (not legislation) to stuff ballot boxes and abuse mail-in ballots. Yes, there was fraud; yes, you lost!

But that ship has sailed. Harping and whining about it gains you nothing. It makes you look weak. You want to be president again? PLEASE show us how you plan to do it. Standing in front of crowds who love you can’t be your only strategy. You may feel good (which is your weakness), but it doesn’t win over the rest of the voters.

Nearly a third of voters are independent. You need them but don’t seem to care about winning them over. Your pettiness and vindictive attitude toward other Republicans are driving them away. People who could become your allies you make into your enemies by “punishing them” for not sufficiently singing your praises.

That vindictiveness cost us seats in both chambers of Congress in 2020 and 2022. My loyalty is to God and then country. We do not crown a king; we elect a president, after they convince us why we should vote for them. President Trump, convince us you are the person to lead us. Stop shooting yourself in the foot with your pettiness. Putting others down to make yourself look good is not a winning strategy. It makes you look small. Put on your big-boy pants and prove you have the right stuff.

Please, Mr. President, put the nation ahead of your ego. I pray every day you might have a revelation as to who Jesus Christ really is. “God opposes the proud, but gives Grace to the humble” (James 4:6).

Humble yourself under His mighty hand so He can lift you up. I served my country proudly, putting my life on the line, shedding blood to protect the nation I love. I believe I’ve earned the right to speak of my great concern for you.
