I'm going to keep repeating the message until it reaches critical mass. This is the opening paragraph of a story released today by Yahoo News: "The Pentagon defended its decision not to deploy forces to Benghazi, Libya, as soon as the U.S. mission came under attack on September 11th, saying it would have been irresponsible to put forces in harm's way without better information." "Defended its decision!!!???" This is the *first admission* by the Obama administration that a decision was *actually made!* Yet unconscionable weaseling that is the hallmark of the Obama administration remains in play. "You don't deploy forces into harm's way without knowing what's going on, without having some real-time information about what's taking place," Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said.

They had eyes in the sky, ears on the ground -- and emails in the pipeline with minutes after the attack on Benghazi began. They watched and listened in real time, as terrorists stormed the compound, firing rocket propelled grenades, mortars and AK-47 rifles. An email sent during the *seven-hour long* battle that claimed the lives of Ambassador Christopher Stevens, Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, and agent Sean Smith is entitled, "Ansar al-Sharia Claims Responsibility for Benghazi Attack." Add it all up and the conclusion is inescapable: the Obama administration is embroiled in the biggest scandal since Watergate -- and a thoroughly corrupt mainstream media has tolerated a blizzard of lies about every bit of it, hoping it won't derail the president's re-election.

One of the primary questions being asked about the Benghazi debacle -- by those in the mainstream media whose first calling isn't protecting the president at all costs -- is why the four Americans who were killed were so vulnerable to attack. The answer to that question is obvious: the political philosophy that animates this administration inevitably trumps events on the ground, no matter how many "bumps in the road," or "not optimal" outcomes, as president Obama has characterized them, arise as a result. Yet last week, two other stories that deserve far wider dissemination than they will ever receive, illuminate just how deep the ideological rot has penetrated. Benghazi is critically important -- but far more revealing are the twin circuses surrounding the trials of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Nidal Malik Hasan.

While many things have been said about the Benghazi fiasco, it remains undeniable that above all else it is a testament to progressive hubris and the fundamental misunderstanding of human nature that such hubris produces. To be blunt, four Americans, including ambassador Christopher Stevens, were executed because the Obama administration is inhabited by people who continue to believe -- against overwhelming evidence to the contrary -- that 7th-century-minded brutes yearning to impose worldwide religious totalitarianism, are as amenable to reason and intellectual prodding as the people who populate faculty lounges on Ivy League campuses. And when reality interrupted that chain of thinking, this administration reacted in a manner that has become their standard operating procedure, no doubt buttressed by the track record of "sympathetic" media reporting they have long enjoyed. In short, they lied unabashed and unashamedly.
