The Obama Justice Department is attacking North Carolina, threatening to cut off all education funding because of the state's new law prohibiting men and boys from using women's restrooms. In the fevered minds of the left-wing bureaucrats at the Justice Department, that commonsense notion now violates civil rights laws.
In Indiana, Donald Trump continued smashing his opponents, taking 53% of the vote, while Texas Senator Ted Cruz received 37%. Ohio Governor John Kasich won just 8%. Within moments of the polls closing, the networks called the state for Trump, and Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus tweeted that Donald Trump was the presumptive nominee. Indiana's results convinced Texas Senator Ted Cruz to suspend his campaign last night. And this morning, Ohio Governor John Kasich suspended his campaign too.
Pop quiz: What is the primary purpose of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency, otherwise known as ICE? If you said, "Enforcing the nation's immigration laws and deporting those who shouldn't be here," congratulations! Move to the head of the class. If you go to the agency's website and click on the "What We Do" tab, about midway down on the page, you will read, "Immigration enforcement is the largest single area of responsibility for ICE." (The dentistry picture is somewhat confusing, but I digress. . .)
In California, open borders radicals beat up and harassed conservative activists attempting to attend the state Republican convention. There were mob attacks on individuals, which, by the way, you won't see on the network news. Now that's interesting. When a 78-year old punched a demonstrator, we're shown that video over and over again as evidence of rising intolerance and "fascism" in America. But what happened in California has largely been ignored. The Mexican flags were ignored. The violence and profanity of the left was ignored.
Will Ferrell made a name for himself mocking George W. Bush. But Bush has been out of office for nearly eight years. What could Ferrell do to keep his career going? There's plenty of buffoonery to mock on the left. How about a crazy vice president who routinely puts his foot in his mouth? Well, that wouldn't go over well in Hollywood. So Ferrell is going after another Republican president, one who left office nearly 30 years ago — Ronald Reagan.
Late last week, the Obama administration quietly announced that it was going to purchase heavy water from Iran. Heavy water can be used to produce nuclear weapons, and the Obama administration is buying it from Iran at the same time that the regime is in the process of developing its missile arsenal.

Dr. Walsh started a low-income clinic for California families struggling with AIDs and served for more than three years as director of public health for the city of Pasadena, California.
After nearly eight years of groveling at the feet of the world's worst tyrants, from the mullahs of Iran to the Castro brothers in Cuba, President Obama has finally located his spine and laid down the law. Unfortunately, the target of his ire was not the North Koreans or ISIS, but the dreaded Brits! Britain is in the middle of an important debate over whether to withdraw from the European Union. The press has dubbed the June vote "Brexit."

Stung by a series of consecutive losses, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did what she *HAD* to do [Tuesday] night: She scored a decisive victory over Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. Sanders bet big that an upset in New York would upend the Democrat race. He reportedly outspent Clinton 2-to-1 on ads. But in spite of the big money, big rallies and whatever momentum Sanders had, Hillary hit it out of the park [Tuesday] night, winning 58%-to-42%. She added at least 173 delegates, bringing her total delegate count to 1,930 or 81% of the total needed to secure the Democrat presidential nomination.
[Monday] was another day when Israelis were reminded, not that they needed to be, of how merciless their enemies are. A bomb was detonated by Palestinian terrorists on a bus in Jerusalem, wounding 21 Israelis, including women and children. Also [Monday] Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) uncovered another Hamas terror tunnel entering Israel from Gaza. These tunnels have one purpose — to provide a transit route into Israel for Hamas jihadists to use to murder Israeli civilians in their homes, schools and synagogues.
There is legislation pending in Congress that is creating an international uproar. The bill is called the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act and it would allow victims of terrorism "to sue foreign states and financial partners of terrorism." That seems reasonable enough. Who could possibly object? Well, our Saudi "friends" for starters and the Obama administration, which is lobbying against the bill. The legislation is a key priority for 9/11 victims and their families. It has moved through all the relevant committees, enjoys bi-partisan support and could be voted on any day now.
Today is April 15th. As you know, this is the day when most of us would normally file our taxes. This year, we get a short reprieve — tax filings are not technically due until Monday, thanks to a holiday observed in the District of Columbia. Doesn't that make you feel better? In honor of Tax Day, I thought it would be "fun" to stick with the theme of taxes and how Big Government spends your money.
Russian President Vladimir Putin is flexing his muscles again. Two days this week Russian aircraft buzzed a U.S. destroyer conducting drills in the Baltic Sea. On Monday, two Russian SU-24 fighter jets made several "close-range and low altitude passes" over the USS Donald Cook as it was conducting deck landing helicopter drills. The Russian harassment continued the next day.
Whenever the subject of Muslim immigration comes up, the debate often centers around whether we have an effective process to weed out potential jihadists. There is more than one example, more than one dead American, to suggest we do not. Earlier this week, we reported that many Muslim immigrants are not assimilating into British culture and often reject the values of Western Civilization. There is no reason to assume that Muslims coming to America are much different.
I was furious to see [yesterday's] report that Boeing is in talks to sell commercial aircraft to the Islamic Republic of Iran. I suppose you can make the case that this will help American workers. But it also increases the chances that other Americans will have to die in the future in combat to stop an increasingly aggressive Iran. Just a few weeks ago, Iran seized U.S. sailors, humiliated them and used it for the regime's propaganda purposes. Tehran test-fired missiles with the words "Israel must be wiped off the face of Earth" inscribed on the missiles. Iranian terrorist networks are directly responsible for the deaths of U.S. soldiers in Iraq.
Whenever conservatives raise concerns about increasing Muslim immigration, many on the left respond by suggesting that the Muslims coming to America are different than the ones in Europe. I don't know why that would be true, but let's pray it is. A new study of British Muslims should set off alarm bells.
The media are all atwitter over the release of a new document from Pope Francis on the family. The paper, "On Love In The Family," is the result of two meetings (synods) between the pope and the world's Catholic bishops. Those on the left hoping that the pope would upend more than a thousand years of traditional Christian teaching on marriage and the family were disappointed. Typical of Pope Francis' style, he calls on pastors to demonstrate more grace, while firmly advocating for the sanctity of life and normal marriage.
