In some ways, one might get the sense that the world is in a panic over artificial intelligence (AI). Some worry that the energy demands to support AI data centers will surrender the rest of the world to darkness. Others fear that reliance on AI will make man no longer able to think for himself, quash initiative, and further separate us from one another as modern technology has already begun to do. And in the extreme, there is what some call the Terminator scenario (after the Terminator movies), where computers take control and endeavor to kill off humanity.
However, before AI came on the scene, there was another threat to human dignity — one that still persists today and is even on the rise despite its failures of the past hundred or so years: socialism and its ultimate end, communism. Compare the fears of AI with the goals of communism, and we see a lot of similarities. Both work toward the diminishment of the individual and the subjugation of the individual to the state or non-human intelligence for which control is the ultimate goal. This was brought out in the Matrix movie series, in which the existence of humans was only to support the overriding intelligence ruling the world. As with communism, the human only existed to support the ruling entity (e.g., the state), was replaceable, and was without any unique qualities.
All of this runs counter to the Judeo-Christian foundations on which the United States was created and thus, on its face, is anti-American. Of course, we see a lot of this in the political statements of candidates who consider our rights as products of the government, who deny our God-given rights and uniqueness, and who even deny the Creator Himself, in addition to denying the achievements we have made as a nation.
This election cycle epitomizes the threat to humanity. Aside from the obvious socialist and even communist expressions of many candidates, the actions of many groups are clearly a threat to an ordered society. In fact, it seems that chaos is one of the goals, as it provides the possibility for “government” to step in and “solve” our problems. Thus, we can see the truth of President Ronald Reagan’s statement about the scariest phrase a citizen can hear: “We’re from the government and we’re here to help.”
The extraordinary efforts in some states to deny parental rights and overrule them with governmental interference have created a rupture in society itself. It is a significant example of the move to destroy the traditional family. Many jumped on the Black Lives Matter movement without checking on its goals, one of which, in its Marxist foundation, was the breakup of the traditional family. At its very core, this is dehumanizing. The Catholic Church describes the family as the place where we learn to live with and get along with others; where we learn love of our fellow man and even self-sacrifice. (I know, sometimes families don’t do well in that area, at least not all of the time. I am the second oldest of five siblings.)
In dehumanizing its members, society has dehumanized itself, removing the reason for its existence. Lately I have been watching some documentaries on WWII. In retrospect, we can see the effect the dehumanizing of the Jewish population ended up having on the overall German population, resulting in general support for the genocide undertaken by the Nazi government, despite the resources it took from the war effort. And yet, many on the Left have embraced the same antisemitism that was foundational to the National Socialist German Workers’ Party in the early 20th century.
We see the same effect today in the West with the dehumanizing of the baby in the womb. We may want to deflect the effects of that assault on humanity, but the increased violence, the lack of respect we have for fellow citizens, the loss of civility, the unhappiness, etc., are all part of the dehumanization of society brought about by abortion and euthanasia — the culture of death. Another example, radical feminism, whose premise was supposedly to elevate and empower women, has worked to erase women and womanhood, thus dehumanizing them.
The divisiveness that the Left has pushed for decades, and which became a real force with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) movement, while suppressed somewhat, is still very active. Despite its claim of “inclusion,” which sounds like “fairness” to some, it is really one of separation and division. It also embodies the many anti-family policies we see being enacted in mostly blue states. Most notable is the continued effort at hiding state interference with parental rights, incredibly supported by teachers’ unions that claim they are advocating for students. Rather than dealing with the underlying causes of things like gender dysphoria, they are actively pushing those policies. Even liberal governments like the UK’s have recognized that jumping to radical surgical and hormonal practices are of dubious effect and potentially destructive, and have placed an emphasis on psychological treatment and understanding for minors.
Thus, the Left not only supports gender dysphoria but has become dysphoric itself. It is unhappy with our nation and its status and progress, and so it has become destructive of that which it claims to want to help. Like gender dysphoria that denies the innate humanness of an individual — which, at its core, cannot be changed but only destroyed — the Left focuses on destroying the nation.
This is what is at stake in this election. Candidates like James Talarico who pervert biblical teaching also pervert the Constitution. Similarly, Abdul El-Sayed, who is aligned with the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood, would support Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon. The Democratic Socialists of America has expressed its goal of basically gutting the Constitution, which has enabled America to become the power that it is — the bastion of democracy (in the form of a constitutional Republic), the protector of nations, the winner of the Cold War, and the economic force keeping the world turning. This is what the Left stands for and what is in store if Democrats take control of the House and the Senate. Don’t just listen to them; look at what they do. The situation in Europe, particularly France, heralds the future if the Left wins.
The Left will tell you that it wants to save humanity, but in typical leftist fashion, its methods would destroy humanity in order to “save” it. The goals and policies of the Left in America constitute a direct threat to human dignity and humanity itself. Pay attention. Actions speak louder than words.
