Another Anti-Israel Protest
What we are witnessing in our city streets and on our university campuses is raw hatred for civil order and for Judeo-Christian civilization.
What the media called “another anti-Israel protest” took place Monday in New York City. These protests are happening virtually every day in major cities like Chicago, New York City and Washington, D.C. And we really should pay more attention.
It would be disturbing enough if they were only “anti-Israel demonstrations.”
As we noted yesterday, many young Americans, faced with the choice between an avowed Jew-hating terrorist organization and the only democratic state in the Middle East, are siding with the terrorist organization. That’s more than “troubling.” But it’s even worse than you think.
One of the more popular chants at these protests is the oldie but moldy, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” It’s a call for the total elimination of Israel. Another popular chant is “Intifada Revolution!” The violent meaning of that simple chant is plainly obvious.
But there’s another popular chant: “NYPD, KKK, IDF, They’re All The Same.”
Did you catch that? The radical protesters are comparing the New York City Police Department and Israel’s armed forces to the KKK, a racist organization that peaked in the early 1900s and represented a sad chapter in America’s history.
What do the IDF, perhaps the most ethical fighting force in the world, and the police, who keep our streets safe, have to do with the KKK? The radical anti-Israel protesters would be soulmates with the KKK — not the IDF or the police.
But, again, what is the linkage here?
These chants are proof positive that what we are witnessing in our city streets and on our university campuses is not just an outpouring of raw anti-Semitism or anti-Israel sentiment.
It’s really raw hatred for civil order and for Judeo-Christian civilization, the pillars of which are Israel and the United States.
That is what these people are demonstrating against. That’s what they really want to bring down.
The Ferguson Warning
I didn’t get up this morning and make this up. I’ve been warning about it for many years.
Let’s go back nearly a decade to Ferguson, Missouri.
A white police officer, Darren Wilson, responded to a convenience store robbery and encountered Michael Brown, a young black man. Brown tried to take Wilson’s gun. During the ensuing struggle, Officer Wilson ended up shooting and killing Michael Brown.
Within hours, a false narrative spread across the country like wildfire that Michael Brown was on the ground, with his hands up, begging for his life, saying “Don’t shoot!” when Wilson “executed him.”
That narrative was fueled by the media and it fed the radical left that wants a revolution in the United States, which it claims is a “racist police state.” Over the next 12 months, there were frequent demonstrations in Ferguson, Missouri, often leading to violent riots.
Leftist radicals came from all over America to exploit the event and to keep fueling racial discord and anti-police sentiment.
But that narrative was totally false. Eyewitnesses said it never happened that way. The truth never matters to the revolutionary, neo-Marxist left.
Meanwhile, many observers were puzzled when Palestinian activists soon made common cause with rioters in Ferguson. A few months later, radical leftists from Ferguson and other U.S. cities were demonstrating their solidarity by visiting “Palestine.”
But what did a police shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, have to do with a dispute in the Holy Land?
We should have paid more attention. It was proof positive of the radical indoctrination that was taking place across the whole spectrum of the left to bring down Western Civilization by any means necessary.
It was also evidence of the emerging alliance between the radical secular left and radical Islam. People were shocked when Black Live Matter endorsed the October 7th attack on Israel. We shouldn’t have been surprised. This is all the same movement.
The BLM agenda, as we have pointed out repeatedly, was Marxist. They literally demanded the end of the nuclear family because they see it as an instrument of oppression.
It’s the same with the radical LGBTQ movement. “Tolerance” was never the goal. And it wasn’t enough to legalize same-sex marriage. They are constantly undermining the family, dividing parents from their children — even criminalizing parents.
The Existential Threat
We correctly say that Israel is facing an existential threat from radical Islamists. On every front — from the mullahs of Iran to their terrorist proxies in Hamas and Hezbollah — Israel’s enemies want the complete destruction of the Jewish state and the Jewish people.
But America is facing an existential threat, too. These radical forces have taken over our universities, and they are powerful in the popular culture.
They have compromised many once noble civil rights groups. Martin Luther King, Jr., who proudly supported Israel, wouldn’t recognize any of these so-called “civil rights” groups today.
And there’s no doubt they would hate him today. Reverend King was a Christian who wanted reconciliation. They don’t like Christianity, and they don’t want reconciliation.
This is the existential battle we’re in, my friends, that is threatening to destroy our country.
I guarantee you that the American youth who say Israel should be erased and “given to Hamas” are exactly the same youth who have been telling pollsters for years now that they have no love for or pride in America.
They are the same youth on TikTok who found the insane views of Osama bin Laden preferable to the policies of the United States.
This ought to scare every American! Parents and grandparents, this is happening right underneath our noses.
Do you realize how sick what’s going on in our classrooms must be if half of American youth want the only Jewish nation in the world to be destroyed?
Obviously, these youth fit the classic definition of anti-Semites. But they are also, in many cases, anti-Christian and anti-American.
Would you trust them to manage anything? Well, it won’t be long before they are in charge of our country!
The modern Democrat Party cannot fight this. These people are its rising base.
In my view, establishment Republicans can’t fight it. They aren’t up for these kinds of “culture wars.” (Here and here.) They’ll go to the mat over tax cuts for billionaires and trade with communist China. But these “cultural” issues don’t lend themselves to the way they like to “play politics.”
The only thing that can fight this rot is a robust populist, grassroots conservatism, currently best embodied by Donald Trump. That’s why he established the 1776 Commission to restore love for America among our youth. Sadly, Joe Biden abolished it on his first day in office.
