Ten top former FBI officials have sent an extraordinary letter to congressional leaders. They warned that America is currently facing “one of the most pernicious” threats to our national security they have ever witnessed.
 
They point to the thousands of military-aged men from enemy nations who are invading our country by foot every day walking across the southern border. Here’s a brief excerpt from their letter:
 
“It would be difficult to overstate the danger represented by the presence inside our borders of what is comparatively a multi-division army of young single adult males from hostile nations and regions whose background, intent, or allegiance is completely unknown.”
 
We have repeatedly raised this concern over the years, and it is obvious to most Americans who now describe the situation at the southern border as an “invasion.” But Joe Biden is doing everything he can to make this invasion easier.
 
We know a record number of illegal aliens on the terrorist watch list have been stopped at the border. We know Iran’s main terrorist proxy, Hezbollah, has major operations in Latin America. Add to that thousands of Chinese, Russians and other illegal aliens from the Middle East.
 
We should assume our enemies are exploiting Biden’s intentional failure to secure our borders.
 
 
 
Don’t Mess With Texas
 
The showdown at the southern border is continuing as I write. President Biden wants the border open. Governor Greg Abbott isn’t backing down from his efforts to protect the people of Texas.
 
Twenty-five governors, all Republicans, are standing with Abbott and the state of Texas. No Democrat governors have stepped up.
 
All Americans must understand (and help others to understand) the extraordinary moment this is.
 
Many of our Border Patrol agents, like Texas state police officers and Texas National Guardsmen, are Texans. Every day, these men are on the same side, doing as much as they can to protect the country — a job Joe Biden refuses to do and tries to stop them from doing.
 
If Biden orders the federal Border Patrol to physically move the Texas National Guard out of the way, what’s going to happen? Nobody knows. But what we do know is that Joe Biden and the political left are the reason we are facing this situation.
 
 
 
The Legal Case
 
In 2012, the Supreme Court decided by a 5 to 3 vote that Arizona could not enforce federal immigration laws or state laws against illegal immigration because of the “supremacy” of the federal government over this particular issue.
 
But the dispute we are facing now is not the old dispute about states enforcing federal immigration laws. Texas is attempting to stop a foreign invasion!
 
That should be the federal government’s job. If the primary purpose of our military is not to protect the borders and sovereignty of the United States, then what is it for?
 
But in the absence of any federal effort to stop this invasion, Gov. Abbott has issued an emergency order authorizing Texas officials to act under Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 of the Constitution.
 
The first obligation of government at every level is to protect its citizens. Joe Biden is failing to do that. Gov. Abbott is doing everything he can to fill the gap.
 
 
 
The Moral Case
 
In addition to the serious national security concerns outlined above, there is a moral case for securing our borders.
 
Every year of Joe Biden’s administration, more than 100,000 Americans have died from drug overdoses. That’s nearly 300 Americans dying every day. Much of this tragedy can be traced back to the deadly Chinese fentanyl that is coming across the southern border.
 
Imagine for a moment that one Boeing 757 with approximately 300 people on board crashed every single day. That would be a national emergency.
 
A door blew off a jet recently, and everyone was justifiably upset. Federal bureaucrats jumped into action. Well, what do you think we would be doing if one passenger jet crashed, killing everyone on board, day after day after day?
 
That’s essentially what’s happening with the epidemic of drug overdoses that is fueled by the left’s open borders policies. But our elites and the neo-Marxist left won’t do a thing to stop it.
 
Many of the people dying from illegal drugs are working-class folks who were barely hanging on. This is part of a phenomenon that became known as “deaths of despair.”
 
But we know what leftist elites think of them. Barack Obama called them “bitter clingers.” Hillary Clinton called them “deplorable and irredeemable.” Joe Biden, who has yet to visit East Palestine, Ohio, called them “semi-fascist.”
 
In a number of states, Democrats have managed to camouflage themselves enough to get elected. One of the most disappointing examples occurred just this past November when a solid conservative candidate for governor lost in Kentucky.
 
Where are the Democrat governors and senators on the border crisis? They’re AWOL. That’s because the Democrat Party is increasingly neo-Marxist. Anyone playing in that sandbox claiming to be a “moderate” is lying or delusional.
 
At the same time, Republicans who say they are “tired of all the drama” need to understand what they are saying. Drama is what happens when a conservative seriously fights the left’s “fundamental transformation of America.”
 
Democrats love “no drama” Republicans because it means those Republicans really aren’t fighting at all against open borders, trade policies that hurt American workers, threats to religious liberty and the radical indoctrination in our schools.
 
 
 
America Last
 
The Biden White House and Energy Department announced Friday that they are effectively suspending the permitting process for liquified natural gas (LGN) export terminals. These terminals allow the United States to ship liquified natural gas to other nations around the world.
 
Radical environmental activists claim they contribute to carbon emissions and global warming. They want them shut down, and Joe Biden needs their votes.
 
These people are delusional. Every form of economic activity creates carbon emissions! But they were really happy during the pandemic lockdowns when the economy crashed.
 
What country is the Biden administration looking out for? It’s not America. The U.S. energy industry is supplying the world with American energy and much cleaner energy than Iranian or Venezuelan oil. These terminals are also major tools in countering Russia’s “energy war” against Europe.
 
These massive projects take years to develop. When bureaucrats start messing around like this, they are hurting people who have made major investments.
 
It wasn’t that long ago when natural gas was held up as a “bridge fuel,” a preferable energy source. Now the left is trying to crush that too.
 
 
 
Never Again
 
Saturday marked the 79th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps at Auschwitz, revealing some of the worst horrors of the Holocaust. More than one million people were systematically murdered there and six million Jews were killed in total.
 
In 2005, as then-Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was threatening a second Holocaust by vowing to “wipe Israel off the map,” the United Nations voted to recognize January 27th as International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
 
This year’s observation was especially poignant. More Jews were killed on October 7th than on any single day since the Holocaust.
 
When Holocaust memorials and observations take place, we naturally think about what happened in Germany under National Socialist Adolf Hitler. It’s almost impossible to imagine that raw evil.
 
Sadly, ignorance of the Holocaust is widespread among Western youth. Even more disturbing, there are significant numbers of young Americans, including many young Muslim immigrants, who are apologists for the Holocaust, and their chants suggest they want a second one.

• A federal judge blocked the EPA from forcing Louisiana to use race-based metrics in permitting decisions. 

• The Georgia State Senate approved the creation of a special committee to investigate rogue District Attorney Fani Willis. 

• The Maine Supreme Court rejected an appeal from Democrat Secretary of State Shenna Bellows attempting to ban Donald Trump from the ballot. 

• Ohio legislators overrode Gov. Mike DeWine’s veto and passed legislation protecting children from radical transgender medical experiments. While Gov. DeWine has been good on most issues, he got this one wrong. He quickly tried to backtrack with an executive order, but a supermajority of GOP legislators did the right thing for Ohio’s children. Good for them! 

• The Democratic Socialists of America are experiencing a financial crisis and are laying off workers. (Workers of the world unite indeed.) 

• A Canadian judge declared Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s use of the counterterrorism Emergencies Act to bankrupt Freedom Convoy truckers an unconstitutional infringement on the rights of Canadian citizens.
