Rep. Mike Turner, chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, posted an ominous message yesterday afternoon that has Washington buzzing. In a statement, Chairman Turner wrote:
 
“Today, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence has made available to all Members of Congress information concerning a serious national security threat.
 
"I am requesting that President Biden declassify all information relating to this threat so that Congress, the administration, and our allies can openly discuss the actions necessary to respond to this threat.” 
 
Press reports indicate that White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan is going to Capitol Hill today to brief the “Gang of Eight” — the four House and Senate leaders, along with the chairman and ranking member of the House and Senate Intelligence Committees.

Mayorkas Impeached
 
Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas has made history. Not only has he presided over three years of record-breaking illegal immigration, but he just became the first cabinet secretary in nearly 150 years to be impeached.
 
It wasn’t easy. The first attempt failed. But it was worth the effort. Someone has to be held accountable for the Biden administration’s abject failure to secure our borders.
 
The impeachment resolution now heads to the Senate, where Senate Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer is expected to quickly kill it.
 
Nonetheless, other senators now have an excellent opportunity to make the case as to why Joe Biden and Mayorkas have been derelict in their duty to secure the border.
 
We also have the entire House of Representatives on the record for and against these failed and dangerous open borders policies. This is not a waste of time if Republicans continue to effectively press the issue.
 
Congratulations to Speaker Mike Johnson for keeping his promise to get this done. Following the historic impeachment vote, Speaker Johnson issued this statement:
 
“For nearly a year, the House Homeland Security Committee has taken a careful and methodical approach to this investigation and the results are clear: from his first day in office, Secretary Mayorkas has willfully and consistently refused to comply with federal immigration laws, fueling the worst border catastrophe in American history.
 
"He has undermined public trust through multiple false statements to Congress, obstructed lawful oversight of the Department of Homeland Security, and violated his oath of office.
 
"Alejandro Mayorkas deserves to be impeached, and Congress has a constitutional obligation to do so. Next to a declaration of war, impeachment is arguably the most serious authority given to the House and we have treated this matter accordingly. Since this secretary refuses to do the job that the Senate confirmed him to do, the House must act.”

The Deep State Danger
 
A trio of respected journalists, including two self-identified liberals, just released a disturbing report that demands serious attention.
 
According to their sources, elements of the U.S. intelligence community, including the CIA, launched a massive international “fishing expedition” into Donald Trump’s campaign in early 2016, well before the FBI began its bogus Russia collusion witch hunt.
 
But here’s the kicker: The CIA knew it was illegal to spy on domestic candidates, so it got the intelligence agencies of our “Five Eyes” allies — the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand — to do their dirty work for them.
 
The report claims that then-CIA Director John Brennan personally selected as many as 26 individuals on the Trump campaign for foreign surveillance. There were efforts to entrap these individuals into doing or saying things that, at a minimum, could be used to justify “official” investigations.
 
Some of this information was previously known. But this additional context reveals that the Russian collusion hoax was much bigger than just the Clinton campaign colluding with James Comey’s corrupt FBI, and it went much deeper into the Deep State.
 
This gets us back to that bizarre White House meeting with Barack Obama, Joe Biden, James Comey and others, where, according to Susan Rice’s infamous memo, Obama insisted that everything was done “by the book.”
 
It also recalls other disturbing patterns we have seen over and over again: Government agencies increasingly spying on Americans and “subcontracting” to third parties, like Big Tech, to do what they know they are not supposed to do.
 
This raises the age-old question: Who is watching the watchers? Who is policing the people we have empowered to protect us from our enemies? Increasingly, it seems that no one is watching the watchers and that they see us as the “enemy.”
 
Whether it’s spying on parents at school board meetings, spying on conservative churches, targeting Americans who buy religious texts and other legal products, or pressuring social media companies to censor free speech and the truth, the Deep State is out of control!
 
These revelations demand a major investigation and major reforms of these rogue agencies.
 
Our country will survive occasional riots and crazy left-wing fads. But the greatest danger to democracy is a growing authoritarian surveillance state that recognizes no limits on its power and feels free to manipulate our elections.
 
 
 
Election Results
 
Tuesday night, Democrat Tom Suozzi won the special election for New York’s Third Congressional District. The seat was vacant due to the expulsion of George Santos.
 
The results were not terribly surprising. Joe Biden carried the district by eight points. Santos won a surprising upset two years later, but he was obviously a fraud.
 
No doubt that experience hurt the Republican brand in the district, and voters turned to a familiar name. Suozzi previously represented the district in Congress for six years and held other local offices.
 
Suozzi had a massive lead going into Election Day from early voting and absentee ballots. Then New York got slammed by a winter storm on Election Day, when most Republicans tend to vote. So, the weather likely hurt the GOP candidate.
 
Democrats and their allies reportedly outspent the GOP by at least 2 to 1. It’s sad but true that 9 times out of 10, the candidate with the most money wins.
 
Some commentators have also observed that Suozzi pretended to be a center-right candidate, while the Republican ran as a center-left candidate. The GOP should learn some hard lessons, but it will probably learn the wrong lessons.
 
By the way, the Fox & Friends hosts yesterday morning were blaming the abortion issue and the Republican candidate for opposing the Senate’s terrible border deal.
 
I bring this up because Fox & Friends has become the voice of establishment Republicanism and the Wall Street wing of the GOP. They are suggesting that unless Republicans move left on life and immigration, they will lose.
 
Of course, millions of conservative voters feel that significant elements of the Republican Party are unreliable when it comes to acting on conservative values. I think that is one of the reasons why the GOP appears to be having serious turnout problems.
 
 
 
Biden Betrays Israel
 
We all know that President Biden is losing his mental faculties and is suffering from memory lapses. So, I’m not sure what we gain by continuing to focus so much attention on that. Polls show that 86% of Americans are concerned about Biden’s age and health. That debate has been settled.
 
The problem is that even if he was sharp as a tack, his policies are disastrous, and any leftist who replaces him will push the same radical agenda.
 
An example of this dynamic happened earlier this week when the king of Jordan visited the White House. During a joint statement, Biden, as usual, appeared totally confused as to where he was supposed to stand and wandered around behind the king as he began his remarks.
 
Most commentators focused on Biden’s behavior and missed the more important substance.
 
The king of Jordan spewed numerous anti-Israel talking points from the White House podium. He launched into a tirade against Israel, initially blaming the entire war on Israel.
 
He denounced the so-called “occupation,” called for more funding for the corrupt U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), demanded the division of Jerusalem and the creation of a Palestinian state.
 
Hamas leaders must have been applauding in their tunnels.
 
Biden should have spoken up for Israel and countered the king’s absurd comments. But he didn’t. In that moment, Biden was representing the rising Democrat Party, which is increasingly anti-Israel.
 
That betrayal is what the GOP should have been focused on Tuesday, not Biden’s wandering.
 
 
 
The Two Percent Solution?
 
One hundred percent of the people working at the White House think the solution to the crisis in the Middle East is two states — Israel and “Palestine” living side-by-side in peace. So do 90% of the bureaucrats at the State Department and probably 70% of those at the Pentagon.
 
A poll just came out in Israel about this “wonderful” idea. Support in Israel for a Palestinian state is — drum roll — two percent.
