Every day we get another example of the growing disconnect between normal Americans and the “governing class” who are infected with globalism, neo-Marxism, and moral relativism.

On Monday, New York Police Officer Jonathan Diller made a common traffic stop. It turned out to be anything but routine. Diller was shot and killed by a vile thug who had more than 20 prior arrests, including some for violent offenses. Officer Diller leaves behind a wife and a one year-old son.
 
Like the death of Laken Riley, murdered by an illegal alien who never should have been in the country, Diller was gunned down by a man who should not have been on the streets.
 
But both murderers were free to terrorize our streets because of the leftist policies of our progressive politicians, led by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
 
Donald Trump called to comfort Diller’s family, and yesterday afternoon he attended Diller’s wake.
 
Where was Joe Biden yesterday? Well, he was in New York, too. But he didn’t go to the officer’s wake. He went to a fundraiser with New York elites, some of whom paid $500,000 to hear Biden’s “wisdom.”
 
It’s doubtful that anyone at Biden’s “party” talked about the murder of a police officer in that same city. These are people with private security who want access to power. What does the death of some cop have to do with any of that?
 
Joe Biden is more worried about the pro-Hamas demonstrators outside last night’s soiree, whose votes he desperately needs to get four more years to finish “fundamentally transforming” America, than he is about some cop’s wife, who was in mourning while he was celebrating.
 
By the way, the New York Sergeants Benevolent Association (SBA) publicly warned left-wing, soft-on-crime politicians to stay away from Diller’s funeral.

SBA President Vincent Vallelong wrote that “defund the police” progressives are “as morally responsible for [Police Officer] Diller’s death as the career criminal who pulled the trigger.”
 
 
 
Another Striking Contrast
 
Here’s another example of the “continental divided” between Main Street America and the “canyons” of Wall Street.
 
Wednesday, the CEOs of major American corporations, playing the roles of obedient serfs, walked into a meeting with Premier Xi Jinping of communist China. Xi lectured them about what he expected them to do if they want access to Chinese consumers.
 
This meeting took place when we are being hacked and threatened by communist China every day.
 
Did even one of those CEOs actually think of themselves as an American when they were kowtowing to the world’s leading communist dictator? If someone had suggested they should wash Xi’s feet, there would have been plenty of volunteers.
 
And while many on the left are screaming about “genocide” in Gaza, our corporate elites turn a blind eye to the very real genocide happening now in communist China.
 
Remember these two stories the next time you see some talking head who is puzzled that so many Americans say they don’t recognize our country anymore.
 
 
 
Goodbye, Joe
 
Former Connecticut Senator Joseph Lieberman died Wednesday due to complications from a fall. As you may recall, he was Al Gore’s running mate in 2000 and the first Jewish American on a major party ticket.
 
Lieberman eventually left the Democrat Party because he could not stomach its hard lurch to the left, growing hostility toward Israel, and the increasing tolerance for anti-Semitism within the progressive movement.
 
In 2008, he endorsed John McCain over Barack Obama. He fought Barack Obama’s sell out nuclear deal with Iran and criticized Joe Biden’s efforts to resurrect it. His recent work with the No Labels movement was another rejection of the left’s extremism.
 
I have known Sen. Lieberman for many years and frequently had the opportunity to work with him. While we disagreed on many issues, Lieberman had a deep appreciation for Christians who spoke out against anti-Semitism and in support of the U.S.-Israel alliance.
 
My friend, Pastor John Hagee, founder of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), remembered Joseph Lieberman as “a giant among men,” adding, “He never wavered from his principles and was a true and loyal friend — he would tell me that he was my older brother Joseph.”
 
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Lieberman as “an exemplary public servant, an American patriot, and a matchless champion of the Jewish people and the Jewish state.”

Sign Of Decline
 
Last week, I told you about the CIA officer who wrote in the agency’s DEI newsletter that cross-dressing somehow made him a better intelligence officer. Well, there’s more.
 
Cliff Sims, a top intelligence official in the Trump administration, has just written a new book, The Darkness Has Not Overcome. While primarily devoted to encouraging Christians to remain bold and unapologetic in an increasingly hostile culture, Sims offers a disturbing account of his first day at the CIA.
 
He noted that the “Diversity and Inclusion” office was covered in posters promoting “various programs and initiatives and proclaiming the importance of each officer’s ‘identity.’” But he was shocked to see another poster in the cafeteria that read, “TRANS LIVES ARE HUMAN LIVES.”
 
While many Americans may be as surprised as Sims was to learn that trans insanity has infected the CIA, this is not a recent development. The CIA actually started recruiting transgender individuals during the Obama/Biden administration.
 
The agency developed a three-year “Diversity and Inclusion Strategy” in which it created “dedicated programs for citizens of African, Asian, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, South Asian, and Native American descent; Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Individuals; Persons with Disabilities; Veterans; and Women.”
 
Notice that “Veterans” and “Women” are last, and “Christians” and “Caucasians” need not apply.
 
I don’t know about you, but I definitely do not feel safer knowing that our premier intelligence agency can’t get basic biology right, and is actively recruiting people who are deeply confused about who and what they are.
 
 
 
Insane Senate Vote
 
In spite of the left’s “progressive” opinion that boys can become girls, nearly 70% of the American people do not want boys in girls’ sports. It’s cheating. It discriminates against girls. And it’s dangerous.
 
A politician would have to be insane to embrace a fringe position overwhelmingly rejected by the voters. Surely, elected politicians are eager to support an issue backed by 70% of the public, right?
 
Wrong!
 
Last week, every single Senate Democrat voted against the Protection of Women and Girls In Sports Act. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
 
Can anyone explain to me how we are supposed to compromise or find common ground with this insanity?
