For more than a year now, drones have been surveilling U.S. military bases all over the country. Sometimes it even happens for days. More recently, a “cluster” of drones was spotted flying over Bedminster Golf Club, where Donald Trump often stays. They have also been seen over Staten Island, Philadelphia, and U.S. military bases in England.
 
I thought we had an entire government department that was responsible for our country’s security. What is the name of that department again? Oh, right — the Department of Homeland Security.
 
Shouldn’t they be telling us something? I know they are tied up letting millions of people enter the country illegally, but c'mon man!
 
This is unacceptable. Drones fly around all the time. But these are not typical hobbyist drones. Eyewitnesses say some are as big as an SUV.
 
When the drones appeared over one critical military installation in Virginia, they reportedly flew in formation with larger drones flying above smaller drones. Local police tried to track them, but they were unsuccessful.
 
What is going on? Are these events all related? Is someone preparing to attack? This is why the American people have decreasing trust in our own government.
 
If this was some kind of military project, it shouldn’t be that hard for a Pentagon spokesman to say, “It’s no big deal. We’re just conducting some research.” But they aren’t saying that.
 
There is a long record of this. Joe Biden did not intend to tell us about the Chinese spy balloon until it was caught on video by a patriotic American. We didn’t find out that drones were surveilling military bases on the East Coast until a reporter discovered it while covering something totally different.
 
In fact, our government appears to know little, if anything. Reports say there have been high-level “brainstorming sessions” to come up with effective countermeasures. All we’re getting from government officials are comments like, “We see no reason that they pose a danger to the American people.”
 
Really?
 
How can they say that if they don’t know whose drones these are or what they are doing? Would we know if they were releasing a virus or chemicals in the air? The possibilities are endless.
  
Just one more thing that Donald Trump will have to clean up after he is sworn in on January 20th.
 
 
 
Trump’s Triumphant Trip
 
President-elect Donald Trump went to Paris, France, this weekend for the official reopening of the Notre Dame Cathedral. Dozens of world leaders were there, and Trump dominated the entire event.
 
He met with French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Zelensky. He is already moving to bring peace and end the killing. Foreign leaders could not wait to meet and speak with Trump.
 
There were no reports of Trump wandering off, not knowing what country he was in or uttering nonsensical words. Sadly, we still have 42 days of that before Biden leaves his nursing home otherwise known as the White House.
 
I couldn’t help but notice that Jill Biden and Donald Trump were just one seat apart at Notre Dame, and they seemed to be getting along just great. There are all kinds of funny memes about what they may have been saying. I’ll resist the temptation to describe them.
 
In fact, they interacted in a far more friendly manner than Jill and Kamala Harris did at Arlington National Cemetery. 
 
By the way, why did Biden send Jill to represent him at Notre Dame? He regularly touts his “Catholicism” whenever he is advancing a radical anti-Catholic agenda like abortion on demand and prosecuting the Little Sisters of the Poor. But he ignored God in his Thanksgiving messages. He barely mentioned Jesus in his Easter message.
 
So, this guy who gave the sign of the cross at inexplicable times could not find the energy or the time in his light schedule to attend the reopening of one of the most iconic Catholic cathedrals in the world.
 
If you’re Catholic and don’t realize yet that you’ve been played over the years by Joe Biden, I don’t know what else to say.
 
But many Catholics did figure it out. A lot of groups moved away from Biden and toward Trump, but none more dramatically than Catholic voters.
 

 

 


Bye Bye Bashar
 
The despotic regime of Syria’s Bashar al-Assad fell over the weekend. We have no idea what the implications will be. Assad is a thug, but so are many of the people who overthrew him. There are elements of Al Qaeda and ISIS in the rebel coalition that seized power.
 
We have 900 U.S. military personnel in Syria. One poll earlier this year found that the vast majority of Americans had no idea we even had troops in Syria. But there are also Russian military bases and Iranian forces in Syria. Weapons are being smuggled all over the country.
 
It’s unclear what our troops are doing there aside from being used as “target practice.”
 
This weekend, Trump posted this:
 
“Syria is a mess, but is not our friend, & THE UNITED STATES SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. THIS IS NOT OUR FIGHT. LET IT PLAY OUT. DO NOT GET INVOLVED!”
 
But as surely as night follows day, certain elements of the “War, War, War” wing of the Republican Party are beating the drums for greater intervention. It never fails.
 
How many tens of thousands of troops would it take to begin to restore order in Syria? We’re already running out of weapons and ammunition due to the war in Ukraine. Thank you, Joe Biden. (NOT!)
 
The fall of Assad is a loss for Russia and Iran. We can be thankful for that. But pray for the Christians now trapped in Syria. The Christian community there has almost been destroyed.
 
 
 
Trump’s Agenda
 
Donald Trump’s interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker aired this weekend on “Meet The Press.” In her opening question, Welker acknowledged Trump’s historic election and the fact that Republicans will control Congress next year. Then she asked what his agenda will be for the first 100 days of the Trump/Vance administration.
 
Trump said that securing the border was at the top of the agenda. He defended his plans for mass deportations, starting with illegal aliens who have criminal records, and he reiterated his pledge to end “birthright citizenship.”
 
The president-elect said that renewing the 2017 Trump tax cuts, which expire next year, will be another top priority. And he vowed to begin pardoning January 6th defendants on a case-by-case basis starting on Day One.
 
Speaking of pardons, there are two kinds of lines in Washington, D.C., right now. lines of people doing Christmas shopping and the invisible line of people wanting a place in line if Joe Biden starts handing out more pardons for those wanting to be protected from the “bad orange man.”
 
Even death row inmates are getting in on the action. Left-wing activists and high-powered lawyers are begging Biden to pardon everyone on death row so the “mean orange man” can’t enforce the capital punishment these convicts were sentenced to.
 
I was amazed the entire four years that Biden had any kind of following at all. He spent a lot of time trying to ensure his place in history. He actually brought historians into the White House to tell him what to do to guarantee his legacy.
 
Well, Biden is making history by frittering away whatever stature he had left. He’s a bumbling fool and a liar. We already knew that, but a whole lot of people thought he was a really nice guy.
 
 
 
Not Guilty
 
A New York City jury yesterday acquitted Daniel Penny. Thank God he was. But the damage has been done, not only to his personal life but to any man who feels an impulse to help weaker individuals being threatened in a public place.
 
Alvin Bragg should be ashamed. He undercharges criminals and overcharges heroes.
 
While we’re on the subject of crime, an arrest has been made in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. The assassin appears to be an Ivy League graduate and radical neo-Marxist who hates capitalism.
