A Bad Start
A deadly terrorist attack in New Orleans and an attempted attack at the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas.
2025 is a year many of us hope will be a time of renewal and revival in America. Sadly, it got off to a bad start. A deadly terrorist attack in New Orleans killed more than a dozen people and wounded dozens more, while an attempted attack at the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas injured seven people. Here’s what we know.
- The FBI initially claimed that the attack in New Orleans was not “a terrorist event.” New Orleans Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick was far more forthcoming, stating that the perpetrator, an Army veteran, was “hellbent on creating carnage” and that he also shot two police officers.
- It wasn’t long before the FBI had to change its story, admitting that they found ISIS material in the truck. The attacker, a recent convert to Islam, was flying the ISIS flag on his truck. They knew from the very beginning this was an Islamist terror attack, but they tried to cover it up. Why is this always their impulse?
- Then the FBI indicated that more suspects were likely involved, saying that the perpetrator was not “solely responsible.” Yesterday, the FBI retracted that statement. Why?
- The mosque the attacker attended is being uncooperative and is referring questions to CAIR, a radical Islamist organization.
- Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy was furious with the misinformation coming from the FBI. At a press conference, Kennedy said, “Here’s what I want to ask from the federal government: Catch these people and then tell the American people the truth. . . find out what happened and who was responsible, or I will raise fresh hell, and I will chase those in the federal government … like they stole Christmas.”
- Raymond Arroyo of Fox News noted that January 1st is a Catholic feast day celebrating Mary, the mother of Jesus, and that explosive devices were found near the historic Catholic cathedral in New Orleans.
Las Vegas Bombing
Not long after the news from New Orleans broke, there were reports of another possible attack in Las Vegas. Here’s what we know:
- The guy who rented the Cybertruck and blew himself up outside the Trump Hotel was reportedly an active duty Green Beret.
- We know from the Daily Mail that the Las Vegas and New Orleans attackers were both stationed at Fort Bragg, but we don’t know when. Both attackers also served in Afghanistan.
- We know that both vehicles used in the attacks were rented through the same app and that both were electric vehicles.
- The FBI raided the Las Vegas attacker’s house in Colorado Springs, hoping to learn more. We do know his wife posted a lot of anti-Trump messages on social media.
Once again, however, the FBI seems to be trying to prevent us from understanding what happened. The Bureau claims there is no link between these two attacks. Really?
Let’s review:
- Both carried out their attacks on the same day.
- Both rented their vehicles on the same app.
- Both attackers used electric vehicles.
- Both served in the military.
- Both trained at the same base.
- One was obviously a radical Islamist. The other was possibly a radical leftist, who sent a clear message by using a Musk-made truck to attack the Trump Hotel.
Anyone in law enforcement who can’t connect the dots or put two and two together needs to go into another line of work.
The Wrong Extremists
After January 6th, radicals in the Biden administration and left-wing lawmakers along with Liz Cheney, launched an investigation into white nationalist extremists in the military. At the same time, they accelerated the infusion of left-wing ideology in the military.
You may recall that former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Mark Milley said he was very interested in “understanding white rage.” After the investigation was over, the final report revealed nothing. It was a total waste of time and money.
But who exactly were the “dangerous extremists” they were looking for? We know leftist bureaucrats think the term “patriot” and patriotic symbols are markers of extremism. What? You want people to be willing to lay down their lives for our country. Those people are patriots.
And when they’re not hunting patriots, they’re going after pro-life activists.
Have they done a serious investigation looking for radical Islamic influences in our military? Have they looked to find out if there are far-left extremists in the military after years of Obama/Biden insanity? We know there are quite a few because Donald Trump is threatening to kick them out.
The incoming Trump/Vance administration should launch its own investigation of extremist influences in the military on Day One.
Meanwhile, hundreds of radical leftists were in the streets of New York City just hours after these deadly terrorist attacks. They were chanting calls for genocide.
“Resistance is glorious. We will be victorious.”
“We will honor all our martyrs.”
“Gaza, you make us proud.”
They also had signs that read, “There is only one solution — Intifada revolution.”
So, yes, extremism is a serious threat to our homeland, but it is coming from the left and from Islamists, not the right.
To Republican Senators
There is a direct connection between what just happened and your responsibilities beginning on Day One of the Trump administration. President-elect Trump needs his key appointments in place ASAP.
Pete Hegseth as secretary of Defense, Tulsi Gabbard as director of National Intelligence, Pam Bondi as attorney general, and Kash Patel as director of the FBI must all be confirmed quickly so as soon as Trump’s hand is on the Bible, they can be at work immediately.
We don’t have time for the establishment to worry about returning to business as usual and returning the GOP to what it used to be. It’s a new day!
Biden Gets Excited
When Joe Biden addressed the country regarding the terrorist attack in New Orleans, he appeared most animated as he described the attacker as an American citizen and a former member of the military.
He was so happy, so ecstatic. You can imagine how many people at the White House were praying that the terrorist wasn’t an illegal alien who recently crossed the border.
Securing the border is going to be a huge battle. But the fact that we have citizens engaging in acts of Islamic terrorism is only another argument for securing the border to ensure we don’t have even more people committing similar atrocities.
As a reminder:
We recently arrested an Afghan national who was plotting terrorist attacks on Election Day.
An Egyptian student was just arrested for plotting terrorist attacks in New York City.
Another radical Islamist was recently arrested in Houston for plotting bombing attacks in the city. (The New Orleans attacker was also from Houston.)
And six months ago, eight suspected ISIS terrorists from Tajikistan were arrested after an extensive nationwide manhunt. They crossed the southern border illegally and were released by the Biden administration.
Constant Deception
Remember all the concern over drone sightings? The government insisted that reports of drones over military bases was nothing serious and not at all related to any foreign interests. They immediately went to their default position that Americans are stupid and were just mistaking planes and stars for drones.
Well, there is news today that the Biden administration is attempting to ban the purchase of Chinese drones in America. What a coincidence.
