As dawn broke Tuesday morning, President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill was looking like a Big Bad Bust. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) emerged from Senate Majority Leader John Thune’s office at 4:00 a.m., expressing her displeasure with the bill. Reports also suggested that Susan Collins (R-ME) was a likely no vote.
 
Their opposition, along with Senators Rand Paul (R-KY) and Thom Tillis (R-NC), would kill the bill.
 
Vice President J.D. Vance arrived on Capitol Hill just before 6:30 Tuesday morning to try to break the impasse. Three hours later, Murkowski was back to “Yes,” and Majority Leader Thune told reporters they had reached a deal to pass the bill.
 
At 12:00 p.m., the Senate voted 50 to 50, with Vice President Vance breaking the tie to pass the Big Beautiful Bill. Senators Collins, Paul, and Tillis joined all Democrats in voting against the bill.
 
Now, because of changes made by the Senate, the bill must pass the House of Representatives again before it goes to President Trump’s desk for his signature.

Members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus are not happy with the additional spending in the Senate bill, while some moderates are also raising objections to various provisions. Several House Republicans are skeptical that the bill can pass by President Trump’s July 4th target.

While much of the media coverage has focused on Medicaid, let me remind you what is at stake here. The 2017 Trump tax cuts expire at the end of this year. If this bill fails and nothing gets done between now and December 31st, the vast majority of Americans will get hit with a massive tax increase. 

• Individual tax rates will go up.
• Taxes on small businesses will go up.
• The standard deduction will be cut in half.
• The child tax credit will be cut in half.
• State taxes will go up as most state tax codes are tied to the federal tax code.

 
 
Putting Americans Last
 
Should illegal aliens in the country get taxpayer-subsidized healthcare? Seventy-one percent (71%) of Americans say, “NO!” They understand it is a magnet for more illegal immigration.
 
During previous waves of mass immigration in our nation’s history, immigrants coming to America didn’t get free anything. They weren’t coming here with their hands out or with any expectations of entitlement.
 
But open borders and a vast welfare state make for a witch’s brew that attracts people from all over the world, creating unnecessary burdens for American citizens and taxpayers. Not that long ago, Democrats like Bill Clinton, Harry Reid, and even Bernie Sanders understood that.
 
But faced with massive budget deficits, 91% of Senate Democrats just refused to do what 71% of the American people want – put American citizens first and remove illegal aliens from Medicaid.
 
An amendment to the Big Beautiful Bill to save Medicaid resources by ensuring illegal aliens are not getting taxpayer-subsidized healthcare was defeated by a vote of 56 to 44, with 43 no votes coming from Senate Democrats. And they are accusing President Trump of jeopardizing Medicaid!
 
Some media reports, including conservative media, made it sound like Republicans failed to get illegal aliens off of Medicaid. Republicans failed?! Every Senate Republican, except Susan Collins, voted for the amendment.
 
It failed because it needed 60 votes to pass, and there weren’t even eight Democrats willing to stand with the American people and common sense.
 
And why did the amendment need 60 votes? Because the Republicans are allowing a Democrat parliamentarian to decide what gets into the bill.
 
 
 
Alligator Alcatraz
 
Florida officials opened a new immigration detention facility yesterday at an abandoned airport. Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier nicknamed the facility “Alligator Alcatraz” because it is surrounded by the Florida Everglades.
 
“If people get out,” Uthmeier said, “there’s not much waiting for them other than alligators and pythons.” Governor Ron DeSantis reiterated the point by saying that the “security is amazing.”
 
President Trump attended yesterday’s opening ceremony and inspected the facility. Before leaving the White House Tuesday morning, Trump joked with reporters, saying, “The snakes are fast, but alligators, we’re going to teach them how to run away from an alligator. OK?”
 
“Don’t run in a straight line,” Trump continued, “Look like this,” the president said, making a zig-zagging motion. “And you know what? Your chances go up about 1%. Not a good thing.”
 
Of course, angry leftists are protesting the new detention facility. If someone is offended by “Alligator Alcatraz,” they should blame Joe Biden for opening the border!
 
We can’t just say, “Well, that’s bad, but there’s nothing we can do about it.” That’s a path to disaster. If you think things are bad now with criminal illegal aliens, gangs, drugs, and potential terrorists, wait until you see the future if we don’t deal with this.
 
 
 
Bad Apple
 
Apple’s app store currently allows users to download an app that tracks immigration police so everyone, including criminal illegal aliens, can know where they are and get away. The app violates several of Apple’s own rules about what an app can be used for.
 
Attorney General Pam Bondi blasted CNN for “advertising” the app and warned the app’s creator that he had “better watch out” because interfering with federal law enforcement is “not protected speech.”
 
Memo to Apple CEO Tim Cook: Call your office. Take this app down now! Or maybe we can boost the Big Beautiful Bill by raising Apple’s taxes.
 
 
 
America At Risk
 
Here’s an observation that may not be obvious to everyone. For four years under Joe Biden, the Democrat Party was all in on erasing America’s borders as millions of people illegally entered the country.
 
Now, there has not been one word of congratulations to President Trump for securing the border. Why not? Because Democrats want the border open. Instead of congratulating Trump, they’re doing everything they can to prevent him from getting the people they let in out of the country – even illegal alien gang members!
 
Leftist judges on the courts are blocking Trump’s deportation efforts. Their Big Tech allies like Apple are tracking immigration police. Elected Democrats are physically resisting immigration police. Left-wing activists are even threatening the children of immigration police officers.
 
This was one of the most important issues during last year’s campaign. We need to remind our fellow citizens that if Democrats win majorities in the House and Senate next year and take back the White House in 2028, they will go right back to their open border policies.
 
They won’t throw anyone out. They will let another 10 to 20 million illegal aliens in, and America is over.
 
Many analysts believe it is already too late for France, England, and other European countries that have been buried by a massive influx of Third World migrants who do not share Western values.
 
In England today, 50,000 Muslim marchers can violate the law, and nothing happens. But if one Christian shows up and urges them to accept Jesus or prays silently, he gets arrested.
 
If someone did not agree with Donald Trump on anything but wanted to preserve a place called America, they could not vote for the left-wing open borders party. It is clear that they want America to be “fundamentally transformed” by the people rioting on our college campuses, waving foreign flags in our streets, assaulting the police, etc., etc.
 
The next election should be a landslide. But it won’t be because we already have so many people in the country who reject Judeo-Christian values, while our universities churn out more and more Marxists every year.
