It’s been a tough few days, as I join with countless others mourning the passing of Dr. James Dobson.
 
Dr. Dobson and I devoted much of our lives to winning the war for the hearts and minds of our children. In 1990, Jim and I co-wrote a book on that very theme called “Children at Risk.”
 
Each child is a gift from God, made in His image. As parents, we have a moral obligation to protect them as the battle Jim and I warned about decades ago rages on today.
 
First, a child has to be fortunate enough to get out of the womb alive. Powerful forces want to abort as many children as they can. Abortion is a religious sacrament to them, like the ancient cults that sacrificed children.
 
If the child is fortunate enough to be born, the Left wants to expose that child to sexual perversion at the earliest ages. Years ago, the fight was over what year in high school children might be introduced to sex education. Now the Left is pushing LGBTQ ideology on kindergartners.
 
Children need to be inspired and know that they are part of something big. But the Left has robbed our children of the knowledge of America’s greatness and our profound Christian heritage. 
 
Instead of loving and encouraging our children, leftists prey on their fears and anxieties. They lie to our kids by telling them they were born in the wrong body. Then they convince our children to mutilate their bodies in horrific and dangerous ways. How sick is that?
 
So, the Left tries to abort them. Then indoctrinate them. Then strip them of their heritage, and even mutilate them.
 
Finally, the Left declares that it has more authority over our children than parents do. They demand we surrender our kids to the tender mercies of Marxists, atheists, and radical secularists.
 
They’re doing what totalitarians have always done. Just as Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Khamenei have done, they are stealing the hearts, souls, and minds of our children.
 
The culture war Dr. Dobson and I warned about decades ago is very real and rages on. The best way to honor Dr. Dobson is to stand up and defend our children.
 
 
 
Trump In Charge
 
Thursday, while much of America was enjoying dinner, the president of the United States went to one of the roughest sections of Washington, D.C. He stood in the middle of hundreds of men and women who are putting their lives on the line to get crime under control in our nation’s capital.
 
It was another iconic moment that will define Donald Trump’s legacy and presidency.
 
He was there encouraging and thanking the National Guardsmen, D.C. police officers, and other federal law enforcement agents who are making Washington safe again. Trump also brought them dinner—pizza and cheeseburgers.
 
His visit and remarks were inspirational. Trump said:
 
“You guys are doing a fantastic job … and we appreciate it… The results have come out, and it’s like a different place. It’s like a different city. It’s the capital. It’s going to be the best in the world… And we’re going to make Washington, D.C., great again… So I want to thank you all very much. It’s an honor to be with you. And we’ll always be with you.”
 
Friday, Trump was more specific about what his plans are. It’s not only to make the streets crime free, he wants to restore the city’s streets and parks in time for the country’s 250th birthday celebration.

Donald Trump gets up every morning determined to make our country great and determined to make next year’s celebration of the 250th anniversary of America’s founding a tremendous success.
 
And all the Democrats and their leftist allies have to offer are screeching objections: “How dare he make Washington, D.C., safe!” Representative Madeleine Dean (D-PA) blasted the president on MSDNC, saying:
 
“I wish that the president was actually serious about curbing crime in any city. I am in the region of Philadelphia… We struggle with crime… This president doesn’t give a damn about crime. He’s pulling a stunt… And my fear is … that he will do this in city after city.”
 
Rep. Dean went on to suggest that Trump plans to declare martial law and cancel elections.
 
That’s just totally unhinged fearmongering! 
 
More importantly, it was her party and her allies who actually tried to “cancel” elections. Everything they did in 2024 was aimed at preventing an actual election.
 
They tried to take Trump’s name off the ballot in multiple states. The Colorado Supreme Court, packed with leftist judges, actually did order Trump’s name to be banned from the ballot.
 
They had hack judges force him to sit in a cold courtroom day after day after day while Sleepy Joe campaigned and mocked Trump for “being tied up somewhere.”
 
Everything they did was designed to blow up our constitutional Republic! And they have the audacity to accuse Donald Trump, who is trying to make the streets of our nation’s capital safe, of being a dangerous tyrant.
 
You just can’t make this up. If anyone dismisses what is going on right now as “just politics,” there’s no hope for them. This is about the freedom and safety of the American people and the survival of our country. (See next item.)
 
 
 
Left-wing Lunacy
 
The Trump administration has done it again. A commonsense proposal has leftists foaming at the mouth.
 
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) agency announced last week that “America’s benefits should not be given to those who despise the country and promote anti-American ideologies.”
 
Going forward, the USCIS will screen the social media accounts of all visa applicants for evidence of “anti-American ideologies or activities,” as well as support for “antisemitic terrorism and antisemitic terrorist organizations, or [those] who promote antisemitic ideologies.”
 
So, we’re going to take extra steps to ensure we’re not importing antisemites, anti-Christians, and anti-American radicals into our country. That is the basic responsibility of a nation—to keep your enemies out.
 
Well, the Left is absolutely furious. Immigration advocates and academics are screaming about “McCarthyism,” “prejudice,” and “implicit bias.”
 
What?!
 
Even people who cite the poem on the Statue of Liberty don’t say, “Give us your revolutionaries, your bigots, and your America-haters.”
 
Open borders and leftist immigration policies have subjected our country to decades of a form of national suicide. And the Left is outraged that Trump is trying to restore the body of America.
 
 
 
Twisted Theology
 
In related news, the Left is complaining that the Department of Homeland Security has occasionally used Bible verses in what appear to be online recruitment videos. Leftists are offended because they think the Bible is only about “compassion and mercy.”
 
Just think about how insane their “moral views” are.
 
They think the Bible supports people illegally invading our country, stealing the jobs of our citizens, living off the backs of struggling taxpayers, and engaging in violent crime. They believe the Bible or Jesus wants us to favor those people over our own neighbors and fellow citizens.
 
That’s some really twisted theology. It’s an example of compassion untampered by actual morality, which is a terrible thing.
 
If you see a thug raping a woman and your first reaction is to sympathize with the thug and offer him forgiveness for whatever difficulties in life led him to this point, that’s not compassion. You can’t get a greater perversion of Scripture than that.
 
We’ve already lost the rainbow. Don’t let the Left turn the Bible into the Gospel of Marx and Open Borders.
 
 
 
Enduring Promises
 
Debate over the Middle East is hot right now. Several Western nations are threatening to formally recognize a Palestinian state at next month’s U.N. General Assembly meeting.
 
During an interview with Sen. Ted Cruz, Tucker Carlson asked incredulously, “Do you really think the Bible verses about Israel apply to the modern nation of Israel?”
 
Here’s a story Dr. Dobson told me about his youth.
 
When he was a little boy, his father once called him to come inside and listen to the radio with him because something important was happening.
 
As little Jimmy came in and sat on his father’s lap, his father told him that what they were listening to on the radio was a vote taking place at the United Nations to restore the Jewish people to their ancestral homeland and to restore the idea of a Jewish nation.
 
Little Jimmy’s father looked at him and said, “Son, you are listening to the fulfillment of biblical prophecy. This is an incredibly important moment.”
 
So, to my old friend Tucker: Yes, the Bible’s promises of God’s mercy and protection to Israel mean the Israel of old and the Israel of today.
 
 
 
The Bolton Raid
 
Federal agents raided the home and office of former National Security Advisor John Bolton Friday morning. It is widely believed that the raids were intended to recover classified records related to the book he published in 2020.
 
Hearing this news, I recalled recent reports that Bolton had obtained classified information in 2018 on the Russia collusion hoax—the same information that Tulsi Gabbard recently declassified showing how the intelligence was manipulated.
 
But rather than alerting President Trump, Bolton protected the Deep State by hiding the information in a National Security Council safe.
 
 
 
Trump Wins Again
 
Donald Trump has asserted over and over again that the economy needs lower interest rates. Fed Chief Jay Powell may have just blinked.
 
Friday, Powell signaled that the first interest rate cut will come September 17th. Some analysts believe it will be the first in a series of rate cuts. If true, the housing market will be unleashed by lower interest rates.
 
Canada also appears to have blinked Friday. Canadian officials announced they are removing retaliatory tariffs on American products, proving once again that every country needs access to American markets. President Trump is operating from a position of strength and that is how America wins.
