The January jobs report was released Wednesday morning. Many media talking heads hoping to badmouth President Trump’s economic policies were stunned at the figures.
 
The “experts” were predicting at most 55,000 new jobs. The “whisper number” was lower than 40,000. Instead, 130,000 new jobs were created last month. This is an amazing figure, and it’s actually even better than that when you dive into the details.
 
The private sector created 172,000 jobs in January. At the same time, 42,000 government jobs were eliminated. (172,000 – 42,000 = 130,000) So, the private sector that creates wealth is growing, and the government, which taxes and spends your money, is shrinking.
 
The construction and manufacturing industries created 38,000 jobs in January. The unemployment rate fell to 4.3% from 4.4% in December and 4.5% in November. And the labor force participation rate—the percentage of people employed or looking for work—went up. 
 
We’re on the right path!
 
 
 
Note Of Caution
 
In recent years, the economy often created 250,000 jobs or more every month. But there is a consensus among economists that such high levels of job creation are unlikely to happen now.
 
One reason is that there are far fewer illegal aliens entering the country in need of employment and competing with American citizens for jobs. Another reason is the birth dearth and abortion. There are 11,000 Baby Boomers retiring every day but only about 8,000 new workers enter the workforce every day.
 
Also, don’t forget that all of the monthly jobs figures are “seasonally adjusted” to account for factors that may have an unusual impact at certain times. But a growing number of economists have felt for years now that these adjustments are not reliable.
 
Lastly, if the Federal Reserve interprets yesterday’s jobs report as proof of a growing economy, it may be less likely to cut interest rates.
 
So, hold your breath until Friday for the next report on inflation. If that figure comes in “hot,” the political implications for the November elections will be much more complicated.
 
 
 
Drone Danger
 
Many of us woke up yesterday to a troubling report that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) closed U.S. airspace for 10 nautical miles around El Paso International Airport just before midnight local time. The Fort Bliss Army base is near El Paso.
 
Not only was the airspace closed, but the FAA also announced it would remain closed for 10 days. Any aircraft that entered the “national defense airspace” could be met with “deadly force.”
 
While there are multiple reasons why the FAA would close U.S. airspace, aviation experts described this closure as “unprecedented.” But by 9:00 Wednesday morning, the FAA lifted all restrictions.
 
We have since learned that the unusual warning was issued after drones controlled by Mexican drug cartels breached U.S. airspace. Once the drones were “neutralized” by the Department of War and the skies were deemed safe for air travel, the flight restrictions were lifted.
 
A sign of the times. And further proof that President Trump’s effort to secure our hemisphere is wise.
 
 
 
I Have Questions
 
Olympic skier Eileen Gu, who is an American citizen but competing for communist China at the Olympics, presents a wonderful face to the world for Beijing’s brutal regime. She’s attractive, articulate, and an incredibly accomplished athlete.
 
But while U.S. athletes competing at the Winter Games in Italy are being peppered with questions about domestic issues here in the United States, it’s interesting that not one reporter has asked similar questions of Ms. Gu. I can think of plenty of questions to ask her.
 
“Ms. Gu, how do you feel representing communist China, which is committing genocide against the Uyghurs, a religious minority?”
 
“Ms. Gu, what do you say about the communist Chinese government arresting pastors and forcing churches to remove crosses and replace pictures of Jesus with pictures of Chairman Xi Jinping?”
 
“Ms. Gu, do you have any regrets about representing a country that is rife with racism?”
 
No reporter would ever pose those questions. If they did, she probably shouldn’t answer because she could end up sharing a cell with 78-year-old Christian Jimmy Lai.
 
 
 
Stealing The Bible
 
Multiple Trump administration officials were on Capitol Hill Tuesday testifying about immigration enforcement. Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ), who is awaiting trial for assaulting federal immigration police officers, had a burning question for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Todd Lyons, “Do you consider yourself a religious man?”
 
When he replied, “Yes,” McIver asked, “How do you think Judgement Day will work for you with so much blood on your hands? Do you think you’re going to hell, Mr. Lyons?”
 
This is today’s Democrat Party.
 
Chairman Andrew Garbarino (R-NY) reprimanded McIver and urged her to “adhere to established standards of decorum and debate.” She shot back, “You guys are always talking about religion and the Bible. It’s okay for me to ask a question, right?”
 
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear went on “The View” Monday. He used the Golden Rule and the parable of the Good Samaritan to justify his support for the most extreme elements of the LGBTQ agenda—sterilizing and mutilating children.
 
For decades, Democrats told Christians to keep the Bible out of our politics. Now, we’re seeing an obviously concerted effort by Democrats to distort Bible teachings to promote far-left policies—abortion, trans ideology, open borders, etc.
 
They’re not quoting scripture for their urban base or to attract more support from LGBTQ activists and abortionists. They’re quoting scripture in an effort to confuse Christians and hoping to divide our vote.
 
If they can sound like the follow biblical teachings and peel off just a small percentage of Christians, they will seize power. And once they have power, our religious liberty will be under attack again. Just look at what Democrats are doing in Virginia.
 
 
 
Trans Truth
 
A controversy erupted after Algerian boxer Imane Khelif won a gold medal for women’s boxing at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Khelif smashed his opponents. Women who got into the ring with Khelif said they had never been hit so hard before.
 
Many people knew Khelif was actually a man. He and his supporters vehemently denied it. Now, in an interview with a French media outlet, the boxer admitted to having a Y chromosome, making him a biological male.
 
So, this man who insisted he was a woman beat up actual women to the cheers of sports writers. Even after his confession, many media outlets are still referring to him as “she.”
 
The LGBTQ mob fell on their sword for the right of this man to beat the snot out of women. He ought to be charged with assault and forced to give up his medals.
 
In related news, there were shocking reports of a school shooting in Canada Tuesday. Nine people were killed, and 25 were wounded. The shooter, described as a “female in a dress,” committed suicide at the scene.
 
Female mass murderers are about as rare as unicorns. And today we have the truth. The killer has been identified as 18-year-old Jesse van Rootselaar or Jesse Strang. While Canadian authorities referred to Strang as the “gunperson,” Strang is in fact a man.
 
This was yet another mentally troubled teenager whose life went tragically wrong after the adults around him lied to him about reality. Democrats and the left-wing media are continuing to lie to us by referring to Strange as “she” and insisting that men can become women.
 
 
 
Unions Before Children
 
San Francisco teachers went on strike Monday. More than 50,000 students are sitting home because their teachers are boycotting their classrooms.
 
With negotiations between the school district and the teachers’ unions showing no signs of progress, the school district offered parents “five days of independent study work and practice in both English Language Arts and in Math” to keep their children on track. Sounds helpful, right?
 
Well, the teachers’ unions went ballistic. They fired out an email telling parents “do not participate in the independent study provided by the district.” That demand prompted one parent to write on social media, “It’s diabolical to say ‘don’t do independent study while we shut down the school for a few days.’”
 
Whether it’s shutting our schools during COVID or poisoning our children’s minds with Marxist indoctrination, the radical teachers’ unions are always putting themselves ahead of America’s children. They should be ashamed.
