Sinister, Sick People
That is certainly an appropriate way to describe the world’s leading state sponsors of jihadist terrorism.
Thursday morning, President Trump held the 11th cabinet meeting of his second term. (Joe Biden held only nine cabinet meetings in his entire four-year term.) Needless to say, Iran was a major topic of discussion, and the president provided an update for the American people.
Trump reiterated that the battle with Iran is going extremely well. Iran’s navy has been sunk, its military has been decimated, its nuclear and ballistic missile programs have been greatly degraded, and at least two layers of the regime’s leadership have been wiped out.
The president referred to Iran’s leaders as “really sinister, sick people.” That is certainly an appropriate way to describe the world’s leading state sponsors of jihadist terrorism.
President Trump reiterated that negotiations were taking place. Iran rejected the president’s 15-point ceasefire deal and then issued an absurd list of outrageous demands. But Trump confirmed that we were talking to the right people in charge of Iran.
He said the very valuable “gift” that Iran gave us, which the president cryptically referred to earlier in the week, was to allow eight to ten oil tankers to sail through the Strait of Hormuz unscathed exactly when they said they would.
Trump also warned that Iran’s leaders “better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is no turning back, and it won’t be pretty.”
The president announced he was delaying for ten more days military action to take out Iran’s energy infrastructure.
NATO On Notice
Iran’s leaders weren’t the only people to draw the president’s ire. He had a harsh critique for our European “allies.” Trump said:
“I’ll say it publicly. We’re very disappointed with NATO, because NATO has done absolutely nothing. I said 25 years ago that NATO’s a paper tiger, but more importantly, that we’ll come to their rescue, but they will never come to ours. And I want you to remember that we said this. They didn’t come to our rescue…
"That’s why I’m so disappointed in NATO, because this was a test for NATO. This was a test. You can help us. You don’t have to, but if you don’t, we’re going to remember. Just remember this in a number of months from now.”
Krasner Is Krazy
Soros-funded Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner is out of his mind. He is threatening to prosecute federal immigration police officers if they detain illegal aliens at Philadelphia International Airport (PIA).
Krasner deeply marinates in leftist bile. He held a press conference at PIA to issue his threat directly to the federal immigration police working at the airport. He declared:
“This is how it works—you commit crimes within the jurisdiction that is the city and county of Philadelphia, I prosecute you. That is how it works. No, I don’t take a phone call from the president saying, ‘Let 'em go.’ No, the president cannot pardon you. I’ll say it again, the president cannot pardon you.
"And yes, I will put you in handcuffs and I will put you in a courtroom and, if necessary, I will put you in a jail cell if you decide to make the terrazzo floor of this airport anything like what you did in the streets of Minneapolis…”
Krasner delivered his threat to federal immigration police with more anger than he has ever expressed toward criminal illegal aliens or Philadelphia’s gangs. That’s not terribly surprising since Krasner actually went out of his way to help criminal illegal aliens charged with violent crimes.
Again, the Left just doesn’t like American citizens all that much. The ire of the Democrat Party increasingly is aimed at law enforcement and Americans who love our country. That’s who the Left hates.
That hatred is what gets them up and out of bed in the morning: “I’m going to get those evil immigration agents. How dare they come into my airport!”
Leftists like Krasner opened the door for millions of people to walk into America, but he doesn’t want federal law enforcement to walk into the Philadelphia airport.
Modern Barbarians
The socialist, modern barbarians who run cities like Chicago continue to expose their own evil agenda. The only reason they’re upset about Sheridan Gorman being murdered by an illegal foreign national is that it shines a spotlight, if even for a brief minute, on the victims of their radical policies.
That’s why Democrats seem so emotionless and disinterested in the murder of this young woman or any other American citizen killed by a violent, criminal illegal alien. They have no stake in Sheridan Gorman. She loved Jesus, and they really don’t like that. She’s the kind of American who keeps voting for conservatives.
The Left’s reaction when two people died confronting federal immigration police in the streets of Minneapolis was striking. One hit an officer with her SUV. The other went to an emotional demonstration with a gun and got into a physical confrontation with immigration police officers.
Thousands of left-wing demonstrators poured into the streets of Minneapolis and many other cities to demonstrate on behalf of those two people who tried to stop federal law enforcement officers from doing their jobs.
I’m not aware of one person demonstrating for Sheridan Gorman. I don’t expect her parents to do so; they’re in mourning. They have had their hearts ripped out of them.
But why is there no one in Chicago who cares enough to get people together to demonstrate peacefully on behalf of this young woman? Is it because we just automatically say, “Well, conservatives don’t demonstrate”? If that’s the case, then the Left owns America’s streets.
A Senate Judiciary subcommittee held a hearing Wednesday on protecting American citizens from sanctuary cities. One of the witnesses was Illinois resident Joe Abraham. His 20-year-old daughter was killed by an illegal alien. Mr. Abraham has become a powerful voice for Angel Families and commonsense reforms. He called out Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) by name yesterday for not saying “two words” about his daughter’s death.
Modern Media
One thing is clear: The Left owns the modern media. The Loyola Phoenix, the student newspaper of the university Sheridan Gorman attended, ran a story about their classmate and accidentally committed an act of journalism. The paper pointed out that Gorman had been killed by an “immigrant man” who was later referred to as an “illegal alien.”
The woke Left came down on the Phoenix like a ton of bricks. The blowback must have been enormous. Even though everything they wrote was accurate, the editor felt compelled (probably for his own safety or fear for his future career) to publicly apologize. It was as if the immigration status of Gorman’s killer was totally irrelevant.
Students working at a major university newspaper are probably seeking a career in journalism. The people at the Phoenix who cave under pressure from the radical Left are the future reporters. If they start lying and pulling their punches so early, then they’re not going to be actual journalists. They’re already part of the problem we see every day.
Journalists used to be guided by very clear rules—who, what, where, when, and why. But reporters can’t do that today if answering those questions hurts the political Left.
Brennan’s BS
In the category of Americans, and I use the term loosely, who are perplexed on whether Iran is lying or America is lying, John Brennan, Obama’s CIA director, said Tuesday, “I tend to believe Iran more than I do Donald Trump.”
I know many people are yearning for all of the “division” and “politics” to just go away. Some foolishly think that Donald Trump leaving the political scene will somehow magically make all the bitter partisanship go away.
But when a CIA director trusts Iran more than his own country, how do you make that division go away? When an up-and-coming young reporter is afraid to report that an illegal alien killed a fellow student in cold blood, how do you make that division go away?
When actress Sydney Sweeney can’t post a message online encouraging her brother in the Air Force without being attacked by leftists who seem to be cheering for Iran, how do you make that division go away?
I’ll repeat yet again—we are in a war for Judeo-Christian civilizaton, and only one side can ultimately prevail. Christians and conservatives cannot sit on the sidelines while this great battle for America is waged coast to coast.
Speaking Of The Culture War…
Last month, a high school in a Dallas suburb allowed a group of Muslims to come into the school. They passed out copies of the Koran, let girls try on hijabs and offered students pamphlets on Sharia law. A school district employee was placed on leave for failing to follow “established procedures.”
I’d like to say a large crowd of angry parents showed up at the last school board meeting, but from the brief video I saw, it seemed like just a handful of people were there.
School districts all over Texas are voting to ignore a state law requiring displays of the Ten Commandments in their schools. Yet in the same state, some schools are welcoming Islam on campus.
Hijacking Jesus
There is a cultural and political war being waged by the secular Left against the Gospel and Christians. Leftists are trying to recast Christ as a “woke” socialist who favors open borders and aborting innocent children. As Christians, we should be slow to anger; but righteous indignation is an appropriate response to the effort underway to steal the Gospel.
