President Trump announced that the United States Navy, at the request of multiple nations, would start escorting ships from “neutral nations” out of the Strait of Hormuz. The president said this was a “humanitarian” mission because “Many of these ships are running low on food.” The president named this humanitarian mission “Project Freedom.”
 
The president added, “If, in any way, this Humanitarian process is interfered with, that interference will, unfortunately, have to be dealt with forcefully.”
 
There were reports Monday morning that Iran had hit an American ship with two missiles. U.S. Central Command debunked that bit of Iranian propaganda. An hour later, they posted this message:
 
“U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyers are currently operating in the Arabian Gulf after transiting the Strait of Hormuz in support of Project Freedom. American forces are actively assisting efforts to restore transit for commercial shipping. As a first step, 2 U.S.-flagged merchant vessels have successfully transited through the Strait of Hormuz and are safely headed on their journey.”
 
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) reported that it had come under attack from Iranian missiles and drones. At least one drone hit the critical oil hub of Fujairah, which is located outside the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has fired more missiles at the UAE than any other nation in this conflict, including Israel.
 
 
 
Not Fooled
 
The latest Harvard/Harris poll asked a series of questions about the conflict with Iran. The results were astonishing, given how the media and leading Democrats have repeatedly falsely claimed that we are losing the war.
 
The poll found that the Left’s negative narrative isn’t working—74% of Americans, including 60% of self-identified Democrats, believe we are winning the war. The vast majority of Americans are not fooled by the Left’s deceitful narrative.
 
Why would Democrat leaders, including Hakeem Jeffries, want people to think the United States is losing a military conflict? I can think of only one explanation—they know it would reflect badly on President Trump. I believe it is obvious that many on the Left, including some elected officials, WANT America to fail in Iran.
 
They want Americans to believe that Donald Trump is incompetent, doesn’t listen to his generals and has no idea what he is doing. That perfectly describes Joe Biden during his disastrous retreat from Afghanistan, not Donald Trump.
 
The American people understand that the conflict with Iran is not a game about political power in Washington. Here are some additional results from the Harvard/Harris poll: 

• 74% of Americans believe it is the national interest of the United States to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
• 65% believe Iran is a national security threat to the United States.
• 57% support the president’s blockade of Iranian ports.
• 54% believe the U.S. military strikes against Iran are justified.

 
 
Apologizing To Assassins
 
Remember when I said I wasn’t confident that Cole Allen would be convicted in Washington, D.C.? Well, look at what happened at Allen’s court hearing yesterday—the judge overseeing the case actually apologized to the wannabe assassin.
 
Judge Zia Faruqui told prosecutors he found it “extremely disturbing” that Allen was placed on suicide watch, which requires him to be physically restrained and placed in a “safe cell.” Allen was on suicide watch because he told FBI agents that he did not expect to survive the attempt on President Trump’s life.
 
Judge Faruqui rejected that logic and then took a rhetorical “shot” at President Trump by claiming Allen was treated worse than any of the January 6th defendants. (A federal judge found D.C. corrections officials in contempt of court for the way January 6th defendants were treated.) “Mr. Allen, I’m sorry that things have not been the way they are supposed to be,” Judge Faruqui said.
 
We’ll have to wait and see how the rest of the trial plays out, but yesterday’s hearing was not an encouraging start.
 
 
 
Education Not Indoctrination
 
Chicago’s public schools are a disaster. With a $10 billion annual budget, only 43% of students are proficient in reading and just 27% are proficient in math—and that’s after proficiency standards were lowered! Chicago’s public schools are so bad, the former president of the city’s teachers’ union sent her own son to a private school.
 
The problem isn’t a lack of resources in the Windy City. The problem is that the Left is in total control of the city, including its public schools and teachers.
 
As we noted, Friday was May Day. There was a big battle in Chicago over whether the schools would be open or closed Friday. The teachers’ union wanted the schools closed so teachers and students could provide the bodies for left-wing demonstrations promoting socialism and open borders at anti-police and anti-Trump protests.
 
It was eventually decided that the schools would remain open but students wouldn’t be declared truant for participating in this Marxist freak show.
 
A local NBC News affiliate got a copy of the curriculum the schools used for teaching students about May Day. Teachers were instructed to talk to students “as young as preschool about social justice, transgender rights and protest.”
 
So, little children who can’t even read yet were indoctrinated with socialism and radical transgender ideology.
 
Thankfully, the Trump administration isn’t tolerating this child abuse. The Justice Department announced that it is launching investigations into 36 Illinois school districts for sexual orientation and gender ideology content in their classes.
 
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon said, “This Department of Justice is determined to put an end to local school authorities keeping parents in the dark about how sexuality and gender ideology are being pushed in classrooms.”
 
Never forget that this issue is so important to the Left that the Biden/Harris administration actually threatened to cut off school lunches for poor children if any school district dared to resist the radical LGBTQ agenda.
 
 
 
More Mamdani Madness
 
Rioters assaulted police in New York City Saturday night after hundreds of left-wing protesters laid siege to Wyckoff Hospital. Multiple officers were injured attempting to clear a path to the hospital’s emergency room.
 
The mob rapidly formed when word spread that federal immigration police had taken an illegal alien to the hospital. The revolutionaries intended to free him by any means possible.
 
When Chidozie Wilson Okeke, an illegal alien from Nigeria, was detained by immigration police, he resisted arrest and attempted to use his vehicle as a weapon against immigration officers. He was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation where he continued to resist officers and hospital staff.
 
New York City Councilmember Sandy Nurse (D) was part of the mob that surrounded the hospital from 11:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. She blasted the New York Police Department for allegedly “coordinating” with federal immigration police. So, police get attacked by violent leftists and leftist politicians attack the police!
 
Nurse also wrote on social media, “We did not have any information about the person ICE had detained.” Talk about the arrogance of ignorance!
 
It turns out that Okeke has a criminal record for assault and drug possession. He came to this country on a tourist visa during the Biden administration and did not return home. Yet this mob, who didn’t know anything about him, quickly formed to defend him. But, to be clear, even if they knew he was a thug, they would still rush to his defense.
 
Two things come to mind.
 
First, our federal immigration police are not going after “good people.” Since the beginning of the year, immigration police have arrested 1,000 illegal alien child sex predators—just in the Tampa, Florida, area alone! Just imagine how many more on the loose in our communities thanks to Biden’s open borders and Democrat sanctuary cities.
 
Second, the New York City mob could mean we’re going to have a long, hot summer of violent protests spurred on by leftist politicians.
 
Mayor Zohran Mamdani immediately condemned federal immigration police for arresting Okeke, saying, “I’ve said time and time again, [immigration] raids are cruel and inhumane. They do nothing to serve in the interest of public safety.”
 
Wrong, Mr. Mamdani. You and your sanctuary policies are doing nothing to serve the interest of public safety. Thanks to federal immigration police and no thanks to you, there is one less criminal on the streets of New York City.
