President Trump issued a proclamation this week recognizing May as Jewish American Heritage Month. In his proclamation, President Trump pointed to George Washington’s letter to the Hebrew Congregation in Newport, Rhode Island, home to America’s oldest surviving synagogue. It is a powerful statement from our first president about the Jews and America. In 1790, President Washington wrote:
 
“For happily the Government of the United States, which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance requires only that they who live under its protection should demean themselves as good citizens…
 
"May the Children of the Stock of Abraham, who dwell in this land, continue to merit and enjoy the good will of the other Inhabitants; while every one shall sit in safety under his own vine and fig tree, and there shall be none to make him afraid.”
 
In his proclamation, President Trump made a historic announcement—he called for the observation of a national Shabbat, something no president has done before. President Trump declared:
 
“In special honor of 250 glorious years of American independence and on the weekend of Rededicate 250—a national jubilee of prayer, praise, and thanksgiving—Jewish Americans are encouraged to observe a national Sabbath.
 
"From sundown on May 15 to nightfall on May 16, friends, families, and communities of all backgrounds may come together in gratitude for our great Nation. This day will recognize the sacred Jewish tradition of setting aside time for rest, reflection, and gratitude to the Almighty.”
 
The following day, May 17th, Americans will gather on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., for a day of prayer, praise and thanksgiving. Speakers at the event include:
 
Former HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Reverend Franklin Graham, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Eric Metaxas, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Rabbi Meir Soloveichik, and many more.
 
 
 
Fighting Antisemitism
 
President Trump issued this proclamation at a time of rising antisemitism in America, which he acknowledged and vowed to “aggressively fight.” The Anti-Defamation League issued a new report yesterday on antisemitic incidents in 2025. While cases of harassment and vandalism fell compared to 2024, physical violence against Jews reached a record high last year.
 
This explosion of hate is predominantly on the Left, but it has also infected portions of the Right. Many progressive Jews took comfort in being able to say, “Yes, it’s deeply disturbing what’s happened, but it’s on both the Right and the Left.” The big picture tells a different story.
 
Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens and Nick Fuentes have significant followings on social media. But once they went off the rails and became apologists for radical Islam, they were completely marginalized in the Republican Party. In fact, Fuentes says he’s a Democrat now. Good riddance!
 
In the Democrat Party, the exact opposite happened. The antisemitism has been excused and even embraced. In several states, Democrats are backing openly antisemitic candidates—Mamdani in New York, Platner in Maine, El-Sayed, Makled, Tlaib in Michigan and Omar in Minnesota.
 
Now, Rahm Emanuel, of all people, is trying to decide if he can be a viable candidate for the Democrat presidential nomination. And the first thing he does is start running away from Israel. So is Gavin Newsom.
 
The most depressing thing we have witnessed is the hijacking of leftist academia. These left-wing institutions are firmly in the grip of antisemites. Jewish students were hunted on our college campuses. They locked themselves in libraries to escape Muslim mobs. They hid in their rooms. Areas of college campuses were declared “Jew-free zones.”
 
The left-wing presidents of those universities and most liberals in Congress made excuses for the violent students and just wanted to move on. Now, the National Education Association, the nation’s biggest teachers’ union, has been slapped with a formal federal complaint alleging antisemitic harassment of its Jewish members.
 
We are living in extraordinarily dangerous times. Fighting antisemitism and supporting the state of Israel will always remain top priorities for my work at American Values and at the James Dobson Family Institute so long as God grants me breath!
 
 
 
Trump Wins Big
 
Tuesday night, several incumbent Republican state senators in Indiana learned the hard way that working with Democrats, who are trying to win permanent power, is a losing proposition. President Trump endorsed challengers in seven GOP primary races, and five of Trump’s endorsed candidates won. Another race remains too close to call.
 
Trump’s candidates didn’t just eek out narrow wins by a few votes. They crushed the incumbent RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) by 24 points or more. What was the issue?
 
With a supermajority in the state legislature, multiple Republican senators voted with the Democrats to block a redistricting plan that would have given the GOP an additional House seat and, thus, help to save the country.
 
Democrats are ripping out every value that Indiana Republicans believe in. Yet, we still have Republicans in Indiana who think it’s more important to “play nice” than playing to save the country.
 
 
 
Left-wing Hate
 
It wasn’t long after Cole Allen’s arrest for attempting to assassinate President Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner that we learned he was yet another violent, unhinged leftist. Now, a new Department of Homeland Security intelligence report suggests it was Allen’s anger at Trump’s efforts to stop Iran that motivated him to try to kill the president.
 
Cole embraced what the Democrats and the media have been saying for the past 60 days. It’s been nothing but a steady drumbeat of defeatism and outright lies about Donald Trump and the performance of our military. They have accused him of losing the war and committing war crimes and even suggested he was insane.
 
 
 
Party Of Corruption
 
Everywhere the Democrat Party and the Left gain control, there is widespread corruption of every kind imaginable. Major anti-fraud investigations are underway in California, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Virginia, etc.
 
Much of it involves taxpayer money being transferred to Third World communities that were brought into the United States en masse by Barack Obama, Joe Biden and, sadly, even George W. Bush.
 
Now, there is a big corruption story coming to a head in Washington, D.C.
 
When crime became a major issue during the Biden years, Washington was one of the few areas where crime rates were surprisingly falling. Except they weren’t. At least three top officials at Washington’s Metropolitan Police Department have reportedly been fired, and as many as 10 more are facing disciplinary action because they “cooked the books” on the city’s crime statistics.
 
They put more effort into deceiving everyone about the true crime rate than they did into actually stopping the crimes that were being committed.
 
Here’s the ultimate irony that shows how little powerful leftist interests actually care about Democrat voters. They were lying about the crime rate in a city that voted 93% for Kamala Harris. Any criminal who set out to assault or rob a Republican in Washington, D.C., would likely be very frustrated.
 
But Democrats didn’t care that it was Democrat single mothers cowering in their homes trying to protect their children from the crime wave. Meanwhile, the Democrat-run schools were failing to teach their children to read and write, and the D.C. Police were lying about the drug gangs, the murders and the hijackings that could be seen right outside your window.
 
 
 
The Trump Dance
 
President Trump held a White House event with young student athletes Tuesday to mark the return of the Presidential Fitness Test to the nation’s public schools. Later, he took the students outside to demonstrate his putting skills with golf legend Gary Player, who urged them to love the United States of America.
 
At some point, their outside activities turned into a dance competition with the president showing them how to do the “Trump dance.” When they were done, Trump patted a Black teenager on the back.
 
I have two thoughts.
 
First, there will simply never be another Donald Trump. The Republican Party was given a gift, yet some are still ingrates.
 
The other thought I had was how long will it take before CNN or MS Now runs this video and says, “Look at Donald Trump raising his fists and slapping that Black child at the White House!”
