A Rapidly Metastasizing Crisis
The Obama administration’s manufactured crisis on the border is rapidly reaching the metastatic stage. According to the Washington Times, an American militia has set up a command post south of San Antonio to protect the nation’s Southwest border. A website, patriotsinformationhotline.com, is asking Americans to donate supplies necessary to maintain viable operations there, even as it claims there are four “credible militia operations” operating in Texas.
Liberal Huffington Post blogger James Crotty puts this ominous development in the proper perspective. “President Obama, violence is poised to break out during this heated summer from ranchers, farmers, and ordinary citizens who are sick and tired of having their lands trampled on, and their communities overwhelmed, by drug smugglers, human traffickers, rapists, killers, and all manner of other illegal immigrant,” he writes. “Sir, do you want the next American Civil War on your watch?”
Sad to say it’s a legitimate question, and nothing makes it more legitimate than the rampant lawlessness being coordinated by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the latest player in this game, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). On Friday, Americans learned that the TSA is allowing illegals to fly on commercial airlines without the kind of valid identification everyone else who flies is required to provide. This astounding abrogation of the law was confirmed by the National Border Patrol Council on their website:
“The National Border Patrol Council was recently notified that as recently as July 9, 2014, illegal aliens, who had been processed by Border Patrol agents in the Laredo Sector, were released with an I-862, Notice to Appear, and used that document as identification to board commercial aircraft at Laredo International Airport.”
It gets even worse.
“Subsequent inquiries made by National Border Patrol Council representatives indicate that TSA in Laredo has been accepting these documents as valid identification to travel for several weeks. The I-862 is issued as part of an illegal alien’s case file, contains no photograph, and has no security measures to prevent forgery or alterations. It does not positively identify an individual and could be reproduced on the most basic of home computers.”
Apparently the transparent effort by our president and his lackeys to purposefully disperse illegals all over the nation – the surest indicator that they intend to make them virtually impossible to repatriate – isn’t happening quickly enough. Aside from the obvious insult to the American public this lawlessness represents, NBPC’s Local 2455 Spokesman, Hector Garza, illuminated the greater threat. "Central Americans are not the only people crossing our border and being released,“ he explained. "Does anyone actually think that cartels and others criminal or possible terrorist organizations are not taking advantage of the fact that we are having to leave our border wide open while we reassigning the majority of our agents to process family units and minors? Of course this situation is being exploited by such threats.”
Americans need to be absolutely clear about who is orchestrating this threat. First and foremost is President Obama, who is making an utter mockery of his primary obligation to protect and defend our national sovereignty. Aside from the aforementioned agencies under his control, he is being conspicuously abetted by a Democrat party more than willing to allow the devolution of America into a Third World country, as long as they maintain control of it. The president and his party made this abundantly clear when they insisted that any changes to the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008 that delays the deportation of Unaccompanied Alien Children from countries other than Mexico and Canada – along with putting National Guard troops on the border – will be held hostage to the passage of the $3.7 billion aid package.
It is aid package aimed primarily at providing schooling, health care and lawyers for the UACs already here. An aid package Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson warned Congress must pass before they leave for their August recess, or immigration enforcement will be further diminished in favor of holding – and transporting – UACs throughout the country.
How hypocritical is this response? At the peak of its operations during Hurricane Sandy and Winter Storm Athena, almost 12,000 National Guard members from 21 states and the District of Columbia addressed those emergencies. Why not use them here? Because border enforcement is not the primary issue, according to the Obama administration.
That is utter nonsense, and the more the White House pushes it on the American public, the more likely a pushback of some kind occurs. Rep. Pete Gallego (D-TX) encapsulates the frustration. “How do you defend inaction in the face of crisis? he asks. "How is that defensible for anybody?”
The answer is simple: President Obama and his pro-amnesty allies firmly believe that inaction advances their agenda. The same president who steadfastly refused to go to the border even as he was fundraising in the state hit hardest by the crisis, managed to make time for a June 30 meeting with those allies, during which he promised to push his executive power as far as he could. In that regard he has ordered the DHS and the Justice Department to find ways he can use that power to increase the number of illegal aliens, including adults, to whom he can grant temporary legal status. “Things were getting ragged with some of the immigration groups,” said Marshall Fitz, director of immigration policy at the Center for American Progress. “Many of us had long drawn the conclusion the House Republicans were not going to budge. After Obama spoke, the vibe was, ‘Wow. This is a very clear, very serious pivot.’”
According to the National Journal, that pivot “gave quiet credence to recommendations from La Raza and other immigration groups that between 5 million to 6 million adult illegal immigrants could be spared deportation under a similar form of deferred adjudication he ordered for the so-called Dreamers in June 2012."
They further reported Obama insisted that "presidents must send the message that you can’t just show up on the border, plead for asylum or refugee status, and hope to get it.”
Is that the message the Obama administration is sending when they disperse UACs nationwide, even refuse to check the status of those to whom they are dispersing them? Or when 70 percent of the Border Patrol agents have been reassigned to handle paperwork associated with the flood of UACs crossing the border, instead of protecting that border? Or when DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson categorically refuses to answer whether most of these children will be sent home? How about when the feds are sending UACs to states without warning, and subsequently refusing to identify them or their locations when state officials inquire?
Americans aren’t the only ones seeing through such transparent subterfuge. Last week, in a report that has remained largely under the radar, it was revealed that Mexico and Guatemala have reached an accord to make it easier for illegals from Central Americans to transverse Mexico on their way to the United States. The plan includes a “Regional Visitor Card,” allowing Central Americans temporary legal transit through Mexico, the establishment of “Comprehensive Care Centers for Border Transit,” where those cards can be obtained, and the creation of an “Office for the Coordination of Comprehensive Social Services for Migrants on the Southern Border,” that will provide care and protection – for those on their way to the United States. Adding insult to injury, Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto said that Mexico and Guatemala have also been coordinating with El Salvador and Honduras, “to work in the same direction to make Central American migration more organized and safer.”
That’s the real message being sent to hundreds of thousands of potential border-busters. And sad to say, it is by far the most accurate one. Every day that passes while Obama seeks to blame the GOP for their refusal to pass comprehensive immigration reform, even as he threatens to invoke executive orders, further advertises that reality. It gets even worse when one realizes that neither of those two “solutions” will mitigate this ongoing invasion by one iota.
In fact, comprehensive immigration reform and/or executive orders protecting an ever-increasing class of illegals will exacerbate the border crisis.
“We have patriots all across this country who are willing to sacrifice their time, their monies, even quit their jobs to come down and fight for freedom, liberty and national sovereignty,” said Chris Davis, 37-year-old commander of the militia arising from the PatriotsInformationHotline.com website. Minuteman Project co-founder Jim Gilcrest, who calls his own effort to protect America’s borders Operation Normandy, echoes that sentiment. "We’re trying to recruit thousands of people to cover the porous border areas from San Diego to Brownsville, Texas,“ he said. "Our federal government especially has failed us.”
It is a purposeful failure. And if it is left unchecked, bloodshed is a distinct possibility.
I suspect most Americans would like to believe our Commander-in-Chief will never let it get to that point. I suspect most Americans know that the narcissistic community organizer impersonating our Commander-in-Chief is far more inclined to fiddle while the nation burns. "Is that what you want, Mr. President? An all-out border war? With National Guardsmen arresting and fighting our own countrymen, instead of protecting us from the illegal immigrant invasion?“ Crotty asks. It’s only a border war for those who believe in borders, Mr. Crotty. And it’s about time the real dividing line between Americans is made clear: it is pro-invasion versus anti-invasion, all the lip service to the contrary notwithstanding.
