There’s enough crime in New York City without the mayor adding potential for more! Unfortunately for locals, Mayor Bill de Blasio, one of the most reliable shills for President Obama’s social engineering, is too busy waving rainbow flags to see the red flags associated with his agenda. Just when you thought liberals couldn’t be more out of touch with America, Mayor de Blasio managed to shock everyone with the news that the Big Apple isn’t just changing its bathroom policy — it’s encouraging people to use it!

In the latest lunacy of this gender-free firestorm, New York City just spent more than a quarter of a million dollars advertising its open stall rule to locals in hopes that more men will take advantage of it! Can you believe that? Taxpayers are actually financing a $265,000 campaign urging men to use the women’s restroom! “Look past pink and blue,” the signs plastered on bus stops, phone booths, and subways say (in English and Spanish!). “Which bathroom to use? The one you choose. It’s the law. No questions asked. #BeYouNYC.” Considering how people are abusing these laws, New Yorkers are going to wish they had that money to treat victims of sexual assault! Because it isn’t the people who identify as transgendered that pose the threat, it’s the men using the cover of chaos created by these policies to gain access to women and children!

Unfortunately, liberals like de Blasio and President Obama aren’t concerned about women and children getting hurt because they’re too concerned about the hurt feelings of the gender confused. “No one deserves to be denied access to bathrooms or discriminated against for being who they are. Every New Yorker has the legal right to use the bathroom consistent with their gender identity, no questions asked — and these powerful ads affirm this right.” From a taxpayers’ perspective, the ads are beyond outrageous. How many New Yorkers want to fund a campaign that actually works against their own privacy? The fact that de Blasio thinks that advocating abhorrent behavior is an appropriate use of his city’s hard-earned dollars is astounding in itself. If Americans want to advertise something, I assure you: perversion doesn’t need the help!

Already, local businesses and organizations are under the financial gun if they so much as guess a person’s 31 possible genders wrong. One mistaken pronoun and employers are looking at a $250,000 fine. Truly, it’s mind-boggling that this is where Barack Obama has led us a nation. No, I should restate that: It’s mind-boggling that we’ve allowed Barack Obama to take us to this point of utter moral and cultural confusion. But there is growing evidence that Americans are rejecting the “newspeak” of the Obama administration.

In Howell, Michigan, one of the thousands of school districts grappling with the president’s open-your-bathrooms-and-showers-to-everyone-or-lose-your-federal-funding edict actually changed its mind on the gender free-for-all after parents started pulling their kids out of school. Matt Stewart and his wife were horrified when their nine-year-old son came home and said, “There was a girl in the boys’ bathroom with him.” Left with little choice, the Stewarts notified school officials that they were taking their sons out of Southwest Elementary School altogether. Suddenly, the district started reconsidering its position. Within days, Superintendent Eric McGregor backtracked in a statement, saying, “We are pausing on the federal guidance issued to all school districts across the nation… At this time, we do not currently have any students using a restroom other than that designated for their actual, biological gender.”

Never underestimate the power of a parents’ persuasion! The best solution to this politically correct crusade is staring at you in the mirror. Fundamentally Trans Forming the Military

When the Obama Pentagon celebrates LGBT pride [today], the Left was hoping it would have something to announce. Unfortunately for the president, his transgender agenda is just as unpopular with military leaders (maybe more so!) as it is with the rest of America. Stories are already buzzing at the enormous friction inside the building’s five rings when it comes to rolling out the red carpet to the clinically unstable men and women.

After putting the policy on the fast-track for repeal last July, Secretary Ash Carter is increasingly frustrated that the Defense Department won’t just get on board with this latest sexual revolution. His six-month study was supposed to be completed by January, at which point, it was almost a foregone conclusion that the branches would begin implementing one of the last pieces of President Obama’s radical agenda. Like most of us, the military has had five years to see the effects of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repeal — and they aren’t exactly flattering ones. With military sexual assaults and suicides through the roof, leaders have serious concerns about multiplying those problems.

Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James, one of the first to call for the integration of the gender confused, tried to sidestep the heated debate in a conversation with the media. “I think the review on the transgender policy should be complete within the next few months would be my best guess. It’s proceeding. These are somewhat complex issues, and by the way, I am certain that the policy is going to change. I’m certain that transgenders will be allowed to serve in a more open way.” Reporters pressed more, asking if there were strong objections within the service to the idea. “Do you get a sense that there’s reaction against allowing transgender troops to serve openly?” one asked. Lee James treaded carefully. “Again, there’s differing opinions on this, but I think the piece of this — which the one that is under the greatest review and discussion at the moment — is the accession of new people who are transgenders. How do we do that? How do we approach that? That’s the piece that is the final piece that we’re trying to get right.” Later, Pentagon spokesman Peter Coko tried to dodge the policy’s opposition. “There have been a range of — I’m not going to get into private deliberations… but the secretary challenged people within the department … to try and resolve this issue.”

Of course, as FRC has argued time and time again, the military is not about self-actualization. It’s about fighting and winning wars. Does the integration of men and women confused about their gender make us better prepared to defend our nation? If the answer is no, why are we even considering it? As FRC’s Lt. General Jerry Boykin (U.S. Army-Ret.) says, warfare is not fair. The military has always excluded people who don’t meet their mental and physical requirements. Just because you want to serve in the military doesn’t mean you’re qualified to do so. There’s no “right” to join the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, or Coast Guard. Every day, the military turns down people who have health problems or vision problems — people who are overweight or too small. The goal is to have the strongest, most elite military in the world. If these men and women are confused about their gender, what’s to keep them from being confused about their mission?

What’s worse, General Boykin points out, is that by opening the doors to people who identify as transgendered, the military is creating a protected class. In a sexually charged environment like the Obama military, the pressure to give special treatment to these confused men and women will be enormous. It will be far tougher for commanders to discipline or fairly evaluate them, since they’ll be increasingly worried about discrimination complaints and other distractions. The military should be a place where everyone is equal. That’s how you create the brotherhood necessary to build unit cohesion. Decisions like this tear at the very fabric of that brotherhood — threatening not just the security of our troops but the country’s as well. As the president rushes to finish his fundamental transformation of America, this is where Congress needs to step in and stop him.

Lifting the Veil on Brides’ Behavior

Saving sex for marriage isn’t just good for your health — it’s good for your future! New research from the Institute for Family Studies points out what a powerful role abstinence can play in the preservation of marriage. After five years, “women who were virgins before they got married are the least likely to divorce.” Unfortunately for our society, those women are increasingly rare. When it comes to premarital sex, everyone isn’t doing it — but almost everyone is. “By the 2010s, only five percent of new brides were virgins.” As other researchers have noted, there’s virtually no difference between the church and unchurched populations on premarital sex. Clearly, believers are letting faith into their lives — but not their bedrooms.

Fortunately, those who are resisting the society’s impulses are being rewarded for it. With every new sexual partner before tying the knot, divorce rates climbed. Even one other sexual partner can raise a woman’s chances of divorce by more than 15 percent. “The study also found that women married since the year 2000 who had just two sexual partners prior to [saying ‘I do’] are surprisingly just as likely to end up divorced at the same rate after five years as a growing cohort of women who had 10 or more sexual partners before marriage,” the Christian Post observed. Obviously, the church has its work cut out for it.

But the responsibility also rests with parents, who are the single most important factor in most young people’s decision-making on sex. Pursuing holiness is a tall order in this generation. The media is marketing sex at every turn, and people aren’t marrying until their 30s. That means these teenagers have an extra ten years of temptation to deal with. What can you do? Well, for starters, it’s never too late to talk to your kids about God’s design for marriage. Explain that abstinence is a daily decision — but it’s also a rewarding one. Also, we need to emphasize God’s grace. Just because someone makes a mistake doesn’t mean that they can’t start living with sexual integrity. And lastly, pray for them. Ask God to bring a spirit of obedience into their lives, and maybe then, He can bring about the sexual revolution this generation really needs.
