All About Abortion
Abortion is back in the news because the Left is afraid Trump’s appointment might chip away at Roe v. Wade. What ought to be making news is just how extreme the Left has become on abortion.
Abortion is back in the news because the Left is afraid Trump’s appointment might chip away at Roe v. Wade. What ought to be making news is just how extreme the Left has become on abortion.
Bill Clinton used to say that abortion should be “safe, legal and rare.” But in recent years, Planned Parenthood started urging people to say how proud they are about their abortions. It has marred Mother’s Day by promoting abortion.
The Left doesn’t want abortion to be rare. It wants taxpayers to pay for abortions!
Comedian Michelle Wolf celebrated America’s independence last week by declaring, “God bless abortion and God bless America!”
Sorry, Ms. Wolfe, but God does not bless abortion. He was clear about that when He said, “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life so that you and your children may live.”
The American people do not share the Left’s enthusiasm for abortion. A recent Gallup poll found that only 29% of the public supports abortion-on-demand.
The Left wants judges who will force a radical agenda on the American people. In contrast, conservatives want judges who will follow the Constitution and respect the will of the people.
President Trump summed up that view when he said this during his weekly radio address:
“In choosing Justice Kennedy’s replacement, my greatest responsibility is to select a justice who will faithfully interpret the Constitution as written. Judges are not supposed to rewrite the law, reinvent the Constitution, or substitute their own opinions for the will of the people expressed through their laws.”
Harassment Continues
In the past week:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was harassed at a Kentucky restaurant. Some of the protestors chanted, “Abolish ICE,” while others yelled, “We know where you live!”
Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon was accosted by an angry progressive at a Virginia bookstore. The store owner called the police when the progressive wouldn’t back off. A former Clinton aide is attempting to organize protests against the store.
A Texas teenager wearing a MAGA hat was assaulted by grown man.
These incidents are just a few of the hundreds of examples of left-wing intolerance toward conservatives. Kudos to our friends at Breitbart for documenting them all.
Of course, the irony is that the political Left is increasingly resorting to fascist tactics while it accuses Trump and his supporters of being Nazis.
Don’t fall for the media’s lie that this is just a reaction to the extremism of Donald Trump. As I recently noted, this kind of violence and intimidation is nothing new for the Left.
Running Again?
It looks like Hillary Clinton may be planning to run again in 2020. Columnist Michael Goodwin writes that Clinton is maintaining a very aggressive profile, attacking the Trump administration at every opportunity.
Hillary is doing all the things that prospective candidates do, and she certainly does not look or sound like someone who is done with politics. During the campaign, Donald Trump said, “Elect me and you’ll get tired of winning.” Maybe Hillary’s 2020 slogan could be, “Support me again and you’ll never get tired of losing.”
Meanwhile, Bill and Hillary were seen flying commercial over the weekend and a video of the event has conveniently emerged online. Either her speaking fees aren’t what they used to be or she is trying hard to shed her elitist image.
Smearing Jim Jordan
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) is one of the most aggressive and effective spokesmen for the Republican Party today. Some even see him as a potential speaker of the House someday.
So it’s not at all surprising that Jordan is suddenly being smeared with decades-old accusations regarding potential sexual abuse at Ohio State University, where he once served on the coaching staff.
Just to be clear, no one is accusing Jordan of abusing anyone. But some former athletes are now saying that “Jordan knew or must have known” about the allegations against sports physician Richard Strauss. Unfortunately for everyone involved, Strauss committed suicide 13 years ago.
I won’t get into all the details here, but I think Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) put it best when he tweeted this defense of Jordan last week:
“How is Jim Jordan supposed to prove that he didn’t know something 28 years ago? Could any of us? This is a deliberate attempt to knock the best oversight member of Congress off his game.”
By the way, it turns out that the law firm managing the Ohio State investigation is Perkins Coie — the same firm that Hillary Clinton contracted to pay for the anti-Trump/Russia dossier.
