Barr’s Bombshell

During Senate testimony Wednesday, Attorney General William Barr made a fairly obvious statement regarding the 2016 elections.

During Senate testimony Wednesday, Attorney General William Barr made a fairly obvious statement regarding the 2016 elections. Here’s what he said:

I think spying on a political campaign is a big deal. It’s a big deal! … Yes, I think spying did occur. But the question is whether it was adequately predicated… but I need to explore that. I think it’s my obligation.

Congress is usually very concerned about intelligence agencies and law enforcement agencies staying in their proper lane, and I want to make sure that happened.

Barr’s “bombshell” has the media and key Democrats setting their hair on fire. They are accusing him of embracing a bizarre conspiracy theory. One Washington Post columnist is now calling for Barr’s impeachment.

Senate Democrat Leader Charles Schumer tweeted this:

AG Barr must retract his statement immediately or produce specific evidence to back it up. Perpetuating conspiracy theories is beneath the office of the Attorney General.

Really, senator?

For two years, conservatives have demanded to see the evidence that backed up the Russian collusion investigation. We still haven’t seen it. Apparently perpetuating conspiracy theories about the president wasn’t beneath a whole lot of people in the media, the Democrat Party and the deep state.

Nancy Pelosi said this:

How very dismaying and disappointing that the chief law enforcement officer of our country is going off the rails… He is attorney general of the United States of America, not the attorney general of Donald Trump.

To quote Shakespeare, the lady doth protest too much.

To be shocked by Barr’s statement suggests they have been blind to anything over the past two years other than the one conspiracy Robert Mueller has found no evidence of: that Trump colluded with Russia.

That hoax is the reason that multiple people have been forced to leave the Justice Department and the FBI.

We know that the Justice Department’s inspector general is investigating “the predicate” that allowed the FBI to monitor Carter Page, who has never been charged with a crime, and the Trump campaign.

We know that U.S. Attorney John Huber is investigating related issues as well.

Schumer, Pelosi and the media are not ignorant of these things.

The monitoring of people affiliated with a presidential campaign by U.S. intelligence agencies, as far as I know, has never been done in the history of the United States. It was Watergate on steroids. That was such a line to cross that it should have required tremendously significant evidence.

Well, what was that evidence? The Clinton campaign/DNC-funded dossier compiled by a foreign agent who relied heavily on Russian disinformation? There is more evidence of Clinton collusion with Russia and zero evidence of Trump collusion!

So I don’t think Barr’s statement is unusual at all. I suspect the left is scared to death that Barr is serious about exposing how government power was used to sabotage the duly-elected president.

The bizarre thing would be an attorney general who declared that he did not want to know why a presidential campaign was spied on in the middle of an election.

That doesn’t make William Barr “Trump’s attorney general,” as Pelosi put it. It makes him an honest attorney general who is ensuring that our intelligence and law enforcement agencies are truly non-partisan entities.

More Bombshells Coming?

Investigative journalist Sara Carter reports that fired FBI agent Peter Strzok is “in hot water” and may be facing possible obstruction charges once Inspector General Michael Horowitz releases his upcoming report.

Judicial Watch head Tom Fitton appeared on Fox News Thursday morning and reminded viewers that the Trump investigation was directed by the Obama White House.

We know that from the bizarre email Susan Rice sent to herself memorializing a meeting with President Obama, Vice President Biden, James Comey and others in January 2017.

There are also text messages between Lisa Page and Peter Strzok that show the Obama White House was very involved with the FBI’s activities.

The Cover-up Conspiracy

There is a bizarre conspiracy theory about the Russia investigation and it’s coming entirely from the left.

Progressive billionaire Tom Steyer has launched a multi-million dollar ad campaign suggesting that Attorney General Barr is engaged in a cover-up. In the ad, Steyer looks into the camera and says:

Do you really believe Attorney General Barr read a nearly 400-page report in one day? And that his four-page summary is the whole truth?

This is exactly the same absurd line of questioning that Barr faced from Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY) during his Tuesday testimony. Steyer knows he is engaged in demagoguery. But he just doesn’t care.

Barr was not recused from the Russia investigation. That was Jeff Sessions. On the day Barr was confirmed the most important thing the Justice Department was involved in was the Mueller investigation.

As we noted in yesterday’s report, Barr had been fully briefed on the status of the investigation. He told Rep. Lowey, “The thinking of the special counsel was not a mystery to the people at the Department of Justice," adding that he had been briefed by Mueller’s team for "a preliminary discussion about the report.”

And if Barr’s summary was grossly misleading, I guarantee that Mueller or any one of his Clinton-supporting lawyers would be publicly disputing it by now on the record. And they are not.

Crucial Arrest Made

There are few things more disgusting than attacks on houses of worship. Sadly, there have been several such incidents in the United States in recent years. The horrible shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue, the bigoted attack in Charleston, South Carolina and the shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas.

Most recently, three black churches in two Louisiana communities west of Baton Rouge have experienced arson. Law enforcement was very aggressive in its investigation, and yesterday authorities arrested Holden Matthews. Initial reports indicate that Matthews was into “black metal” music and pagan religions.

Recent surveys have shown that the percentage of Americans rejecting faith and embracing paganism has been steadily increasing over the years.

The burning of American churches is very disturbing. Back in the 1990s, a major media outlet conducted an investigation to see if there was a pattern among church burnings. They were unable to find one. But I do recall that in many cases, the churches were marked with satanic symbols and other disturbing examples of vandalism.

This is just another sad marker of how the country is dangerously moving away from its Judeo-Christian roots and the common values that once united us.
