Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller has agreed to publicly testify on July 17th. This announcement comes after Mueller said in his “final statement” that his final statement was his final statement. In his much-hyped press conference to reporters last month, Mueller declared:

I hope and expect this to be the only time that I will speak about this matter… There has been discussion about an appearance before Congress. Any testimony from this office would not go beyond our report… the work speaks for itself. The report is my testimony. I would not provide information beyond that which is already public in any appearance before Congress.

Nevertheless, the left-wing media is euphoric. Many progressives believe that this could be the key to bringing down the Trump presidency. I don’t think so, and here’s why. 

Robert Mueller submitted his report to Attorney General Barr three months ago. Barr made the report public two months ago. If there were no bombshells in the report capable of bringing down the Trump presidency then, how could his testimony rehashing the report do that now?

Senator Lindsey Graham and Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz believe Mueller’s testimony could blow up in the Democrats’ faces. And I have confidence that Republicans on the committees will be prepared. There are a lot of tough questions to ask Mr. Mueller, such as:

• Why was his team dominated by partisan Hillary Clinton supporters?

• When did he first realize there was no collusion with Russia, and why didn’t he say so then?

• When did he first learn about the relationship between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page and their outrageous anti-Trump bias?

• Did he investigate the origins of the false dossier that started this charade?

The list goes on. 

Left-wing Lies

Sadly, Democrats just cannot let go of their delusions. In the joint statement issued by House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler and Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff announcing Mueller’s testimony, they declared that it was important for Americans to hear from Mueller:

… so they can understand what he and his team examined, uncovered, and determined about Russia’s attack on our democracy [and] the Trump campaign’s acceptance and use of that help.

Nadler and Schiff are again accusing the president and his campaign of colluding with Russia to win the election. That is a lie. 

Referring to the Russia collusion charge in his “final statement,” Mueller said “there was insufficient evidence to charge a broader conspiracy.” Mueller said there is no evidence of collusion with Russia, yet Nadler and Schiff are doubling down.

If anyone accepted foreign help in the campaign, it was Hillary Clinton. 

Her campaign paid a foreign spy to solicit Russian dirt on Donald Trump. 

The Democrat National Committee sent a contractor to Ukraine to dig up dirt.  

Foreign ambassadors were key to the start of this entire witch hunt.

Why didn’t Robert Mueller investigate any of that? Because exposing foreign interference was never the goal. (Democrats have aggressively sought China’s help and Russia’s help in past elections.) 

The goal always was and remains taking down Donald Trump.

Nancy Pelosi has reportedly been trying to keep a lid on the radical impeachment caucus in her party. I’m increasingly skeptical that she can. Their ranks are growing, fueled by the Trump derangement syndrome that is so prevalent within her party.

Crisis Mismanagement

Late Tuesday night, Speaker Nancy Pelosi finally managed to pass an emergency funding bill for the border. The progressive caucus forced her to make a number of changes in exchange for their votes. 

But the House bill cannot become law. President Trump is threatening to veto it as a result of the left’s radical demands.  

So what we have now are two bills — one from the House and one from the Senate — that must go to a conference committee to negotiate the differences, which are significant. That bill will have to be passed again by both chambers. And while Washington fiddles, the humanitarian crisis at the border continues.

This is a perfect example of how not to handle a crisis. The House could have simply passed the Senate’s bill and moved on. 

Left-wing Lunacy

Hundreds of employees of the online furniture store Wayfair reportedly walked off the job yesterday in protest. Are they protesting low wages? No. Are they protesting slave labor in China? No. 

They are protesting the company’s contract to provide $200,000 worth of beds to “reprehensible concentration camps” — that would be the detention facilities where migrants and children crossing the border are being held.

I agree that conditions in these facilities are less than ideal. But the reason the conditions are so bad is because no one expected so many illegal immigrants to be crossing the border, while left-wing judges and progressive politicians blocked virtually everything President Trump has tried to do to control the border. 

So now there is a humanitarian crisis (along with a national security crisis) at the border, and the country is scrambling to provide more beds for migrant children. And the left-wing employees at Wayfair are furious. 

Really? I guess they would prefer that the kids sleep on hard concrete floors. 

Of course, what they really believe is that everyone should be able to walk into the country without ever being detained or vetted. That is insanity, and the American people overwhelmingly reject the open borders agenda.

Sure enough, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez jumped into the fray, showing her solidarity with the workers and expressing her support for the walkout. 

Perhaps the Wayfair workers should think twice. The last time AOC inserted herself into a local issue, the freshman lawmaker cost 25,000 workers their jobs!
