President Biden held a rare press conference yesterday. He seldom engages with reporters even though most are his liberal cheerleaders. If you think I’m being unfair or overly critical, the left-wing Washington Post even conceded, “Today’s news conference is a rare event for Biden.”

But he decided to take questions as we approach the one-year anniversary of the beginning of his presidency, and the beginning of our national nightmare.

Just a year into Biden’s presidency and the overwhelming majority of the country thinks we’re on the wrong track. Moreover, most Americans say Biden is making things worse!

As a result, CNN was forced to run this headline: “10 Crises That Demand Answers At Biden’s Press Conference.” Wow! Ten crises in one year. Way to go, Joe!

Biden made a lot of promises one year ago, but one was key to his presidency. Biden repeatedly pledged, “I won’t shut down America, I’ll shut down COVID.” He failed.

America has been shut down. Supply chains are broken. There is a worker shortage. Inflation is skyrocketing. And Biden’s war on COVID has been inept and incompetent.

More people have died from COVID in one year under Biden than died from COVID under President Trump. Biden spends most of his time not uniting America, but dividing us over vaccines. More recently, Biden failed to ensure that there were enough COVID tests available just as a new variant hit over the holidays.

When the White House realized it had a testing crisis, it scrambled to mass produce hundreds of millions of new tests. But they messed that up, too.

The Biden Administration awarded a $1.3 billion contract to the American subsidiary of a company based in communist China. The tests will be made by workers in communist China, not American workers.

Now, the Chinese communists are mocking us because we can’t even make our own masks and tests here. We have to buy them from the communist Chinese regime.

Joe Biden has not only failed to defeat COVID, he’s made us more dependent on communist China, where the virus originated.

We don’t trust Beijing’s COVID statistics, and for good reason. The communists lie all the time. Beijing lied from the beginning about the origin and severity of the virus. One model suggests the communist regime has understated China’s real death toll by 17,000%. (Why are we sending our Olympic athletes to China again?)

Chinese executives joked about rigging thermometers. They sent faulty personal protection equipment all over the world.

Why would Biden assume that masks and tests made in communist China would be something we should rely on?

Manchin vs. Schumer

West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin took on his party during a press conference with reporters Tuesday. Asked why he was making it harder for people vote in the next election, Manchin flatly rejected the idea that voting rights are in any danger. He said:

“The law is there. The rules are there… The government will stand behind [voters] and make sure they have the right to vote. We have that… Things are happening, okay. We act like we’re going to obstruct people from voting. That’s not going to happen.”

Of course, Joe Manchin is right. The larger point is that the Democrat bill has nothing to do with voting rights. I’ve made the point before, but it must be repeated. The legislation Chuck Schumer is pushing is not a “voting rights bill.” It is a “voting cheating” bill.

The purpose of the legislation is to make it harder to stop people who are not supposed to be voting in our elections. There is no legitimate reason to oppose voter ID laws unless you intend to allow illegal votes to be cast.

There is no reason to require states to mail out absentee ballots to voters who don’t request them and don’t want them. There’s no reason to require states to have drop boxes, where random ballots can be dropped off at all hours of the night. There’s no reason to force states to accept ballots days past Election Day without postmarks.

All that does is guarantee more cheating and guarantee the left’s lock on power. And that’s precisely the point.

Chuck Schumer and 48 Senate Democrats are intentionally pushing extreme legislation, and threatening to blow up the Senate in the process, because they know it will guarantee their power.

Democrats are claiming that the demonstrators who entered the Capitol Building on January 6th were engaged in an attempt to overthrow our government. But the real threat to our constitutional Republic is Biden, Harris, Schumer and Pelosi.

Rush Was Right

The late, great Rush Limbaugh was right about many things. And just before the 2020 elections, he issued a stark warning about the radical left’s threat to democracy and free elections in America. Here’s what he said:

“[Democrats] resent the whole premise behind elections. Look, they don’t believe they should have to persuade anybody to agree with them. Therefore, they don’t believe in campaigns. They don’t believe in the free, open exchange of ideas…

"Elections are the result of persuading millions of people to support you. They resent having to do that… They can’t persuade a majority of Americans to support Black Lives Matter… They can’t persuade a majority of Americans to go along with their ideas on guns and eliminating free speech…

"Those are things they’re gonna have to force on people, and they are more than willing and eager to force that stuff on you, but they need the power to do it… The modern-day Democrats have to go through the motions of campaigning, and they have to go through the motions of trying to win the hearts and minds of voters. But they resent the hell out of it.

"And in their world, it’s the one thing standing in their way: This need, this requirement to win elections. And I’m just telling you: As soon as they can figure out a way to eliminate elections, they will do it.”

That’s essentially what their “voting rights” bill does.

ACTION ITEM: Call your senators now at 202-224-3121. Tell them you oppose efforts to nationalize elections and you oppose Chuck Schumer’s attempt to gut Senate rules.

Not So Woke

Chamath Palihapitiya is not exactly a household name. But the left-wing billionaire, Democrat mega donor and co-owner of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors has made a name for himself in the past few days, and it’s not a good one.

On his podcast over the weekend, Palihapitiya declared, “Nobody cares about what’s happening to the Uyghurs.” (China’s Muslim minority.)

He said that he cares about climate change, healthcare and “the fact that our economy can turn on a dime if China invades Taiwan.” Notice that he’s not worried about 20 million Taiwanese losing their freedom. He’s worried his stock holdings could take a hit.

And when Palihapitiya says he’s not worried about the Uyghurs, he’s also saying that he’s not worried about Chinese Christians or Tibetan Buddhists. Palihapitiya is a globalist. He is willing to tolerate any government that oppresses people in China or elsewhere as long as he gets richer.

The NBA’s silence on communist China’s genocide and slave labor brings shame to their sport. It is one of the most woke institutions in America, constantly wagging its finger at Georgia or any state that wants secure elections.

But when it comes to their contracts, the NBA will “play ball” with mass murderers and slavers like the Chinese communists.
