Breaking news! While Vladimir Putin was increasing his hold over the Donbas region of Ukraine, and while communist dictator Xi Jinping was warning Speaker Nancy Pelosi to stay away from Taiwan, the president of the United States ate his lunch, cleaned his plate and showed it to his staff as a sign of how well he’s handling COVID.

Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, told reporters Friday afternoon, “[Biden] slept well last night. He ate his breakfast and lunch fully. He actually showed me his plate.”

What a statement about where we are as a nation right now. Biden’s White House handlers are really excited that the president “cleaned his plate” at lunch. Meanwhile, our enemies in Beijing, Moscow and Tehran are eating our lunch.

Trump Was Right

FBI Director Christopher Wray and his British counterpart, MI5 Director Ken McCallum, recently held the first ever joint press conference for leaders of the FBI and MI5. The topic of the press conference was the growing threat of espionage from communist China.

Director McCallum said plainly what I and a few others have been warning about for years:

“The widespread Western assumption that growing prosperity within China and increasing connectivity with the West would automatically lead to greater political freedom has been shown to be plain wrong.”

Donald Trump understood this threat. Unlike previous administrations, both Democrat and Republican, Trump was serious about confronting communist China.

One of the most important steps he took was banning the Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei from the U.S. He also got our British allies to act as well.

Now we’re learning more as to why President Trump was so insistent. It turns out that massive amounts of Huawei cameras, routers and other equipment was being installed in rural areas near U.S. nuclear missile bases.

According to CNN, “The FBI determined the equipment was capable of capturing and disrupting highly restricted Defense Department communications, including those used by U.S. Strategic Command, which oversees the country’s nuclear weapons.”

In other words, if we ever got into a “hot war” with communist China, Huawei technology was capable of sabotaging our nuclear arsenal, and who knows what else.

By the way, there’s growing alarm over communist China’s involvement in DNA research.

One of the great tragedies of the 2020 elections is that the Trump/Pence Administration did not get to finish the job of purging communist China’s influence in America. Sadly, Beijing’s influence over America has perhaps never been greater than it is today.

Pelosi vs. Biden

President Biden and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi are at odds over America’s recognition of Taiwan. It doesn’t happen very often, but I agree with Nancy Pelosi on this.

She announced her intention to visit Taiwan last week, and Beijing went ballistic. Reportedly, both President Biden and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark “Thoroughly Modern” Milley told her not to go.

It’s really telling when the left-wing speaker of the House and representative from San Francisco is more willing to stand up to communist China than Biden and his woke Pentagon.

When I was president of the Family Research Council and took on communist China’s persecution of Christians, Pelosi was one of the few members of Congress willing to stand with me and speak out against normalizing trade relations with communist China. But as her husband made millions in the stock market over the years, Pelosi seemingly lost her voice.

That said, I believe she is right to visit Taiwan. We cannot allow Beijing’s communist thugs to dictate our foreign policy and what nations our officials are allowed to visit.

A MAGA Anthem

Country singer John Rich released his latest song on Donald Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social. It quickly shot up to number one on the Apple iTunes country chart. Entitled “Progress,” the song is essentially a MAGA anthem. You can listen to the song and watch the video here.

While a lot has been lost in the country, “Progress” is reminiscent of other patriotic songs that speak to the Middle American revulsion with the leftist agenda.

It would be great to see this song stay at the top of the charts. If you’re an iTunes user, please buy it, and share the video on social media.

A GOP Wrecking Ball

Rep. Liz Cheney is a Republican wrecking ball. During an interview with CNN Sunday, Cheney gave a full-throated defense of same-sex marriage. “Freedom means freedom for everyone,” she said.

Well, that is the left’s argument for just about every insane idea they’ve had. What about “freedom” for people who want to be in polygamous relationships? Is that on the table, too?

The House of Representatives has voted twice in recent weeks on pro-abortion legislation that goes further than Roe v. Wade. What the Democrat-controlled House passed would not only ensure abortion on demand in every state of the union, it would also require taxpayer funding of abortion.

It would allow abortion if a baby happens to be “the wrong” sex. It prohibits states from regulating or limiting abortion in any way. These votes were party-line votes, and they show that there are major differences between the parties. Liz Cheney abstained on both votes.

All of this is an indication of just how far gone Cheney is. And if the GOP follows her down that path, it will be destroyed. She’s actually acting like a political saboteur within the party that made the Cheney family famous.

Every national Republican ought to be aggressively exposing her treachery. But many of them are not, including Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan and Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, both of whom dream of being the next Republican president once Liz Cheney has finished her dirty work.

It’s worth remembering that George W. Bush and Karl Rove not only donated to Cheney, they held a big fundraiser for her when it was very obvious that she is now a tool of the Democrat Party.

They both owe conservatives and the Republican Party an apology for empowering the person who would rather see the GOP dead than see it transformed into a populist conservative party. It’s still not too late for them to speak up.
