Religious Liberty Under Siege

More than 220 American churches have been attacked over the past two years, many by deranged, godless Marxists.

I’m sure you saw the big story out of the American heartland late last week.  A Catholic school and church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, were attacked.

As students at Holy Family Classical School were having class pictures taken outside the church, a man later identified as Daniel Edwards approached and made threatening statements.  Edwards told one woman to “run away as fast as you can.”

When Rod Notzon, a Holy Family school employee, engaged Edwards, he pulled out a sword and attacked Notzon, cutting his hand.  School officials immediately got the children inside and locked down the school.  At that point, Edwards then threw two Molotov cocktails at Holy Family Cathedral.

Wait, you didn’t see this story?  Of course, you didn’t.

More than 220 American churches have been attacked over the past two years, many by deranged, godless Marxists.  Catholic churches in particular have been targeted because they are seen as pro-life.  This summer, in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., three churches from different denominations were vandalized and firebombed in one night.

Virtually none of these attacks make the national news.  At best, they are treated as local news only.  But they are of great national importance.  The freedom of religion and the freedom of worship have never been in doubt in America before.  But today, houses of worship increasingly are targeted by evil people.

Meanwhile, President Biden, who claims to be Catholic, and federal law enforcement leaders have been silent.  They are too busy arresting pro-life activists.

I recently heard a prominent but misguided Christian leader suggest that if Christians continue to get involved in government and politics, we will be persecuted.

Wrong!  The truth is the exact opposite.

Unless men and women of faith get off the sidelines and get more involved in defending our values and our rights, including religious liberty, then the persecution that is already happening will only get worse.

Smearing Conservatives

It’s been 90 years since a Republican was elected to Indiana’s First Congressional District, but they have a real shot this November.  The GOP candidate is Jennifer-Ruth Green, a trailblazing combat veteran and a conservative black woman.

Green’s campaign has been building momentum, but the race gained national attention in recent days when Politico somehow got ahold of her confidential personnel records from the Air Force. (I wonder how that happened?) Predictably, the left-wing outfit attempted to use the information to smear her.

It also disclosed something that Green never publicly shared — that she was sexually assaulted by an Iraqi military officer when she served in Iraq.  Big Media are ignoring the obvious controversy.  Where are the feminist groups that should be rushing to defend this woman?

Just imagine if a black female Democrat was running against a white Republican man, and media allies of the Republican candidate disclosed that the black woman had been sexually assaulted.

I guarantee you that the media would be all over that story!  The president of the United States would be commenting about it, defending this minority woman who simply wants to participate in the political process.

But if it’s a pro-life, conservative minority, the left will do and say anything it has to in order to keep power.  Whether it’s Clarence Thomas, Tim Scott, Janice Rogers Brown, Herschel Walker, Larry Elder, Miguel Estrada or any of the conservative Hispanic women running this year on the GOP ticket, the left cannot tolerate any minority who dares to leave the “liberal ideological plantation.”

As Joe Biden so crassly put it when addressing a black audience, if you aren’t a leftist “You ain’t black.”

Go, Tulsi, Go!

Speaking of leaving the ideological plantation, former Hawaii congresswoman and Democrat presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard is leaving the Democrat Party.

As I have often noted, this is not your father’s Democrat Party.  FDR, Harry Truman and JFK wouldn’t recognize this party.  Bill Clinton could not win the nomination of his party today because it has embraced insanity.

Gabbard was unsparing in her criticism.  She ripped the Democrat Party as “under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue and stoke anti-white racism [and] actively work to undermine our God-given freedoms.”

It’s interesting that one of the main things she mentions is that the left is driving the country toward nuclear war without any serious conversation with the American people.  She’s right.  But that’s exactly what Biden is doing, and he’s doing it with significant cheerleading from far too many establishment Republicans.

There must be many Democrats who are very nervous about the prospect of a nuclear conflict with Russia.  We’ve already seen that Biden and his woke generals can’t even manage to retreat effectively.  After the disaster in Afghanistan, why would anyone trust this commander-in-chief and this Pentagon to manage a nuclear war?

Another COVID Controversy

Dr. Joseph Ladapo had his Twitter account blocked over the weekend.  Why?  Because he urged some people to avoid the COVID vaccine.

Now before you jump to conclusions, Dr. Ladapo is not a quack.  He got his medical degree from Wake Forest University and he earned a Ph.D. in health policy from Harvard.  He also happens to be Florida’s Surgeon General.

So, what’s his concern with the COVID vaccine?  An analysis conducted by the Florida Department of Health found an “84% increase in the relative incidence of cardiac-related death among males, 18 to 39 years old within 28 days following the mRNA vaccination.”

As Dr. Ladapo explained to Tucker Carlson, “You would never give something to someone who was young and healthy and increase their risk of dying from sudden cardiac death by 84%.”

Twitter said that Ladapo’s account was blocked in error.  I tell you what the error was:  Anything that questions the vaccine is still flagged by their algorithms.

Big Tech tried to censor any debate from the very beginning of the pandemic — whether it was about the origins of the virus, the effectiveness of other treatments or concerns about the vaccine.

Virtually everything anyone would want to discuss, Big Tech and Big Government tried to shut down, while they shut down our schools, our churches and our businesses.

Now years later, there’s very disturbing information coming out, and social media is still trying to censor it.

Election Integrity Matters

Here’s an interesting story out of Colorado.  The secretary of state’s office recently admitted that 30,000 non-citizens received post cards urging them to register to vote.  They are blaming the error on a “glitch.”

Well, this “glitch” happened because Colorado, which is solidly Democrat, is among 18 states that give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.  Of course, the same people who made this big mistake assure us that no one will be registered who isn’t entitled to do so.

And the media wonder why so many Americans have serious concerns about election integrity!
