It was a very busy day in Washington Tuesday with several important hearings taking place on Capitol Hill. Let’s start with communist China’s culpability for the COVID-19 pandemic.

The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic heard testimony from former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe. Now let’s just pause there for a moment.

This committee would not exist if Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats still controlled the House. They did control the House in 2020, when the pandemic began, and they controlled the House throughout the entire pandemic.

I googled “House Democrats investigate COVID origins” and nothing of substance turned up. The political left in America seems curiously uninterested in where this deadly virus came from.

It was useful to the left in defeating Donald Trump, controlling how you lived and advancing the left’s agenda. Who cares where it came from? COVID was a “gift” from the neo-Marxist gods and the communist Chinese.

Now back to Tuesday’s hearing.

Ratcliffe told members of Congress that “a lab leak is the only explanation credibly supported by our intelligence, by science, and by common sense.”

Ratcliffe’s statement comes on the heels of a Senate report that alleges there wasn’t just one leak from the Wuhan lab, but two leaks and that Chinese researchers were scrambling to find a vaccine in November of 2019.

This aligns with previous reports that many athletes at an international competition that took place in Wuhan in October of 2019 got sick.

Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State David Feith told the committee that several scientists and researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology also got sick. “The sick researchers are probably still today the most potentially probative part of this story that we are yet aware of,” Feith said.

The Wuhan lab is perhaps the supreme example of Western gullibility. The French built the lab, believing they could cooperate with the communist Chinese. They were kicked out of the Wuhan facility in 2017.

And how stupid were we for funding the Chinese lab that was experimenting on a virus that could — and did — kill millions?

Speaking of gullibility, the FBI arrested two Chinese nationals this week for operating a secret police station in New York City that was intimidating critics of Beijing’s communist regime. And there are likely several more secret police stations across the U.S.

The Justice Department also charged dozens of Chinese National Police officers for attempting to intimidate Chinese dissidents in the United States. Curiously, this same unit was also responsible for spreading propaganda and disinformation in the United States that was indistinguishable from leftist, anti-American talking points.

The real question is who was parroting who?

Democrats Embrace Child Labor

It is ludicrous that the Democrat Party can masquerade as the “party of children.” They want to abort them all nine months of pregnancy and they want to mutilate them with so-called “gender affirming care.”

Now we’re learning that multinational corporations here in the United States are pressing children into hard labor, thanks to Democrat open border policies.

Senator Josh Hawley eviscerated Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas Tuesday during a hearing on his department’s budget.

Hawley demanded to know why Mayorkas shouldn’t be impeached for enabling child trafficking and forcing thousands of migrant children into modern-day slavery. I guess the party of slavery is just returning to its roots.

Biden’s open border policies predictably overwhelmed our immigration centers and border shelters. So, they emptied the shelters by gutting the vetting procedures. Now, the New York Times is reporting that thousands of children are being handed over to total strangers who are financially exploiting these vulnerable children.

Senator Hawley is, once again, demanding that Mayorkas be impeached, and I agree completely. This is a shameful and outrageous scandal!

Child labor laws are essential to a nation like the United States. Yet, thanks to this administration that claims to be “progressive,” we’re seeing a massive explosion in child exploitation.

But that’s not all. Suspected terrorists are also pouring across the border in record numbers, not to mention deadly drugs and criminals.

Did you hear about any of this on the evening news? Chances are your liberal “low-information” friends and family members probably don’t have a clue.

Clueless Cardona

Speaking of clueless, Miguel Cardona, Biden’s education secretary, was also on Capitol Hill Tuesday, testifying before the House Appropriations Committee.

Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) questioned Cardona about the Biden Administration’s radical changes to Title IX policy allowing boys to compete in girls’ sports. Cardona was typically evasive, and Rep. Clyde pushed back. Consider this exchange:

CLYDE: “So what’s the definition of a woman? You haven’t given me that. You haven’t answered my question.”

CARDONA: “I think that’s almost secondary to the important role that I have as Secretary of Education.”

CLYDE: “My question’s not secondary, my question is very simple.”

For decades, whenever an administration sent officials to testify on Capitol Hill, the opposition party did everything possible to make the witness look stupid. I know from personal experience.

I served as Under Secretary of Education in the Reagan Administration, and I testified before Democrat committees dozens of times, and faced numerous “gotcha” questions. I always had to be prepared to answer questions involving all the intricate details of obscure programs.

Apparently, you don’t have to ask detailed questions anymore. To stump a Biden appointee, you only have to ask the most basic biology question!

But here’s the bottom line: If Secretary Cardona can’t define what a woman is, then he has no business meddling with Title IX. And he has no business leading the Department of Education. He’s either too stupid or too ideologically extreme. Neither explanation is acceptable.

Graham Stands With Musk

Reverend Franklin Graham and eccentric billionaire Elon Musk probably don’t agree on much. But they do agree on one thing: They both oppose what the left ludicrously calls “gender affirming healthcare” for kids.

Musk recently tweeted: “Any parent or doctor who sterilizes a child before they are a consenting adult should go to prison for life.”

While some might consider the punishment excessive, Americans overwhelmingly agree with Musk that mutilating a child’s body and sterilizing them is not “healthcare” and should not be allowed.

Nor is it affirming their gender. It’s the exact opposite. It’s denying their gender. It’s denying science and basic biology. It’s denying reality by surgically transforming them into something they are not and never can be.

In short, it’s delusional! And there’s nothing compassionate about lying to confused children and encouraging their delusions.

We would never tell a young girl suffering from anorexia that she is fat and we would never allow her to get gastric bypass surgery. Yet when it comes to gender dysphoria, that’s exactly what the left is demanding.

While many on the left denounced Musk, Reverend Franklin Graham defended his bold statement. In a social media post, Graham wrote:

“Elon Musk spoke out to make a point about the bizarre and dangerous transgender medical treatments being performed on minors, and I appreciate that he isn’t afraid to call it like it is…

"Some parents, politicians, and so-called professionals are guilty of a masquerade of evil they are falsely calling healthcare. Children and young people are suffering the lifelong consequences of drugs that maim body, mind and spirit. God will judge our nation. This madness must stop.”

Like Reverend Graham, I also appreciate Musk speaking out on this issue. And I hope many more pastors, parents and politicians will be emboldened to speak out, as well.

The increasingly unhinged and insane radical left is putting our children at grave risk. Believe it or not, some neo-Marxists want to put parents in jail and will even kidnap your children if you don’t “affirm” their gender confusion.

We must not be afraid to resist this leftist insanity!
