The Sickness of False Empathy
Fewer things should turn our stomachs faster than manufactured empathy, yet the left-wing apparatus is ever in search of its hero of the day.
By K. Wesley Carroll
Roughly one month ago, a woman who identified as a man entered The Covenant School in Nashville and proceeded to fire 152 rounds in 14 minutes, murdering three innocent nine-year-old children and three staff members of the school in cold blood. Thankfully, MNPD arrived within minutes of being dispatched and dealt every ounce of justice that the shooter deserved, killing her while she fired from a second-story window at the responding officers.
While sane people would pause and reflect on the tragedy that just occurred by grieving with these families, that’s not the case with those hungry to push an agenda. Almost instantaneously, the media vilified the Right for oppressing the shooter’s misguided mental state. They claimed that since she was transgender, she was the victim and would not have acted how she did were it not for bills that our state lawmakers are attempting to put in place in order to protect minor children from being medically experimented on before puberty.
The intentions of the Left’s newest martyr fall far short in that she inconveniently penned a manifesto that, if released, will likely prove she was far more evil than the media portrays her to be.
Sane people would react to this tragedy with empathy. However, sanity seems to be in short supply these days. Like clockwork, the call for gun reform and gun control began to echo throughout the halls and outside of the state house. Protesters turned into rioters and forced their way into the house chamber, pushing past and assaulting the state troopers on guard, screaming like small children throwing a tantrum at the lawmakers attempting to conduct the state’s business.
Breathlessly, the sycophantic media machine called these rioters heroes. Among the throngs of the dissatisfied were three democratic lawmakers, Justin Jones of Nashville (who happens to be the same Justin Bautista-Jones who was indicted on two counts of reckless endangerment after repeatedly assaulting a citizen with a traffic cone as he was driving down the street in 2020’s “Summer of Love”), Justin Pearson of Memphis, and Gloria Johnson of Knoxville. These brave individuals were dubbed the “Tennessee Three” after this debacle, with Pearson and Jones being expelled by majority vote. While Johnson managed to keep her seat by only one vote, she did manage to throw the other two under the bus claiming she did not participate in the uproar but did agree with them.
As usual in democratically controlled areas, Jones and Pearson were voted back in by Nashville’s corrupt Metro Council and Shelby County’s largely democratic county commission. Johnson is certainly enjoying her moment in the sun after having done absolutely nothing while in office beforehand. These 15 minutes of fame have afforded her some fleeting notoriety by walking hand in hand with the two newest iterations of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Jones is living his best life enjoying interviews with CNN and MSNBC, the ever-stalwart bulwarks of truth and standard-bearers of journalism.
Now, as with any situation these days, race has entered the conversation, and as always has taken over like a plague. No longer is the focus on six innocent people being murdered by a mentally deranged person (five of the six victims were white, and the shooter was also white, by the way); instead, the media has spun the narrative that Pearson and Jones were only expelled because they are black — their “black and brown constituents are being disenfranchised without representation.” In reality, these two people were expelled because they joined a violent mob and broke house rules of decorum.
It is striking to me that when left-wing agitators “protest” they are hailed as champions, yet when a gaggle of foolish Trump supporters decide to march on Washington, and many are simply let into the Capitol building, they are “destroying democracy” and “attempting to overthrow the government.” Now, the sanctimonious gun control mob has descended upon Nashville, marching in the streets to the capital while carrying empty coffins as props, trampling on the memories of these six innocent victims to obscenely invoke feelings from an already stressed population.
Even the village idiot who occupies the White House noticed the fracas and sent a gold-lined invitation to these mealy-mouthed parasites to come and visit with him and our simpleminded vice president to discuss — you guessed it — gun control. I’m sure Biden’s invitation to the families of the slain victims has been misplaced by the United States Postal Service. Yet another opportunity for these clowns to pander to their base.
The utter hatred for us by our government is on full display, and no number of words from me can convince people who are too blind to see this for exactly what it is. Fewer things should turn our stomachs faster than manufactured empathy, yet the left-wing apparatus is ever in search of its hero of the day.
