The House Rules Committee voted 7-to-6 Tuesday night to advance the Biden/McCarthy debt limit deal, which would seem to make it a done deal. But it continues to be roundly criticized by leading conservatives.

The Heritage Foundation, Club for Growth, Mike Pence’s Advancing American Freedom and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis all panned the deal.

The House of Representatives was scheduled to vote on the legislation last night, formally known as the Fiscal Responsibility Act. If it passes with a majority of Democrat votes, Kevin McCarthy’s speakership could be in trouble.

Adding to the growing backlash is the fact that members of the Freedom Caucus who have read the 99-page bill insist that several items House leaders are promoting aren’t actually in the legislative text.

Some defenders of the deal have suggested that it puts an end to the Biden’s student loan forgiveness debacle. That’s not guaranteed at all. Supposedly, it prohibits Biden from continuing to suspend student loan payments, but it does not stop his attempt to forgive student loan debt.

The only hope of really stopping Biden’s student debt scheme is the Supreme Court, which is expected to issue a ruling on this matter any day now.

Comer vs. Wray

As we have repeatedly documented in this daily report, the FBI has gone totally off the rails. The latest example is FBI Director Christopher Wray’s refusal to comply with a lawful congressional subpoena.

Rep. James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, is now moving to hold Wray in contempt.

Tuesday night, James Comey, the disgraced, fired former head of the FBI, showed his true colors. He ironically labeled Donald Trump “a threat to the Republic” and called the GOP “a cult.”

Now the current director of the FBI is showing his true colors by doing everything he can to prevent congressional oversight of both the FBI and the Biden crime family.

By the way, the Justice Department announced yesterday that it is suing the son of West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice. I’m sure it’s a total coincidence that this action comes just 24 hours after a poll showing Gov. Justice crushing Democrat Joe Manchin in the 2024 Senate race.

I don’t know what more evidence anyone might need to understand that federal law enforcement has been weaponized against conservatives, Christians and Republicans.

This must be dealt with. When a nation’s law enforcement becomes a tool of one political party, that’s dictatorship.

Crazy At CUNY

College graduation speeches are rarely memorable. But the 2023 valedictorian address by Fatima Mousa Mohammed at City University of New York (CUNY) won’t be forgotten anytime soon. It was a speech that the left-wing of the left-wing party loved.

Mohammed attacked Israel. She attacked the U.S. military. She attacked the New York City Police Department as “fascist.” She attacked capitalism, and called for a “revolution” to “liberate the masses.”

Some are dismissing her remarks, saying “Well, she’s just one person.” No, it’s much worse than just one person.

Tellingly, Mohammed admitted that she chose CUNY Law School because it is “one of very few legal institutions created to recognize that the law is a manifestation of white supremacy that continues to oppress and suppress people in this nation and around the world.”

That’s what CUNY is teaching its law students. And the video of her address shows other graduates and parents jumping to their feet to applaud her outrageous and offensive remarks.

CUNY gets federal money. The Biden Administration just announced a new plan to fight anti-Semitism. When you read the document, it sounds like anti-Semitism is a problem of white supremacy.

But the fact of the matter is that anti-Semitic attacks happen overwhelmingly in America’s big cities, which are dominated by the left. Sadly, attacks against Orthodox Jews in New York City are disproportionately perpetrated by black Americans.

The danger of anti-Semitism is not some guy living in rural Alabama. It’s the faculty lounges of our major universities. It’s major portions of our media. It’s major Islamic groups that are exerting more and more influence over the left.

If Joe Biden is serious about fighting anti-Semitism, he’s got a real opportunity here to take a strong stand — issue a statement condemning Mohammed’s speech and cut off CUNY’s federal funds! But I’m not holding my breath.

Memorial Day Massacre

Chicago’s gang culture celebrated over the Memorial Day weekend. More than 50 people were shot and 11 were killed in violence all over the city. As usual, the victims were overwhelmingly minorities and the shooters were overwhelmingly minorities.

Al Sharpton, Black Lives Matter and the Biden Administration are nowhere to be seen. Why aren’t the media up in arms over this “mass shooting”?

Meanwhile, in southern California, three young Marines on leave asked a group of feral teenagers to stop setting off fireworks on the beach where families had gathered to enjoy the day. The teens refused.

As the Marines started walking away, more than 40 of these teenage thugs attacked and overwhelmed the Marines. They were knocked to the ground and viciously kicked in the head.

We’re having a hard time finding young men who want to join the military. We all know some of the reasons why that’s happening.

But surveying the violence across the country on any given weekend, it’s painfully obvious that there’s no shortage of young Americans who enjoy fighting — as long as they can act in a mob, attack innocent Marines from behind or beat up old men. (See below.)

I’ve been concerned about the increasing numbers of Chinese illegal aliens crossing our southern border. We have no clue who they are or why their numbers have spiked so much.

Experts fear that some could be agents of communist China sent to commit acts of sabotage in the event of a conflict against the West.

But Beijing doesn’t need to waste time or money sending in neo-Marxist agents to take down our Republic. As the California and CUNY mobs demonstrate, we are educating enough of those on our own.

Left-wing Violence

Two pro-life activists, ages 73 and 80, were “viciously attacked” while peacefully protesting outside of a Baltimore abortion clinic last week. After a brief and heated debate, a pro-abortion radical attacked both pro-life men. One was beaten so severely that he had to be hospitalized.

You’ll recall that Biden’s politicized Justice Department tracked down a pro-life father of seven because he got into a shoving match with a pro-abortion demonstrator in front of a Philadelphia abortion clinic a few years ago.

Local authorities determined that there was no crime worth prosecuting, but Biden’s FBI raided Mark Houck’s home and took him away in handcuffs, traumatizing his children.

Not surprisingly, there’s no statement from the Justice Department about what happened to the elderly pro-life activists exercising their First Amendment rights in Baltimore. And I have zero confidence that Attorney General Merrick Garland will make any attempt to prosecute their attacker.

Biden’s Pro-Abortion Extremism

The Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Population Control — I mean Office of Population Affairs — is launching a 24-hour hotline for “nondirective counseling” for women looking for information on abortion.

Predictably, the “nondirective counseling” does not include one word about the free services offered by 2,500 pregnancy resource centers to women who want to keep their babies.

Once again, we see how obsessed the Biden Administration is with ensuring that the number of abortions in America remains as high as possible. The left lives in fear that the number of dead preborn children will decrease. Think about that.

They tell us we must take multiple COVID shots or we will die. And then they do everything they can to ensure that more innocent preborn children die.

For the life of me, I do not understand how serious Catholics or evangelicals can vote for these people.
