Female Warriors and the Bottle
It is apparently a little-known fact in the Obama administration that girls are weaker than boys and that grown women are weaker than grown men. Moreover, women training for combat positions suffer physical injuries at twice the rate of men, and they suffer significantly higher rates of mental disorders such as depression and anxiety after exposure to combat. Of course, you probably knew this by simple observation or by reading the sports page and noting that women's athletic records are significantly lower than men's records. But then, you are not in the Obama administration.
The New 'Gotcha' Question
The latest "gotcha" question that is really irritating me is a point being made by the left-wing media and talking heads. The purpose of the question is not to inform anyone, but to shutdown debate. It goes something like this: "You know there are more than 6,000 Muslims serving in the United States military. Don't you think they are patriots?"

This month, President Barack Obama's defense secretary, Ashton Carter, decreed that there will be 220,000 combat military jobs offered to women — including in Army special operations forces and the Navy SEALs. He said, "They'll be allowed to drive tanks, fire mortars and lead infantry soldiers into combat ... and everything else that was previously open only to men."

If Americans tuned in to the president's speech [Sunday] night hoping for a substantive, long-term strategy to defeat ISIS, they're still waiting. In a rare talk on terrorism (from an even rarer setting), the president managed to talk for 13 minutes without saying anything new. Backed into a corner by tragedies his failed policies helped create, President Obama tried to answer his critics on the administration's inadequate response to radical Islam. But after a familiar lecture on tolerance and gun control, all he accomplished was proving his opponents right.

The only package pro-lifers cared about this Christmas was the budget reconciliation one. And thanks to the hard work of conservatives in the House and Senate, they got it! In the early evening [Thursday], Americans celebrated the first major victory against Planned Parenthood and ObamaCare since the GOP took control of Congress. After weeks of late nights and procedural gymnastics, the Senate delivered its most stinging rebuke of the president's favorite twin pillars of policy: his signature health care law and favorite abortion business. With one more vote than they needed, the GOP is a small step away from sending the Restoring Americans' Health Care Freedom Reconciliation Act to the president's desk, where the responsibility for the failure of ObamaCare and nation's complicity in abortion's barbarism will ultimately rest.

You'll find charts galore in the 2016 Index of U.S. Military Strength, but two at the start of the detailed report are particularly troubling. One shows the overall state of our military. It's not "very strong" or even "strong," according to the foreign-policy experts who wrote the index, but "marginal" for all branches except one — the Army, which is rated as "weak." The other chart notes the threats to our vital interests. They range from "elevated" for Iran and Middle East terrorism, to "high" for Russia, China and Afghanistan-Pakistan terrorism, to "severe" for North Korea.
