“An elective despotism was not the government we fought for.” —James Madison (1788)

Every day since Donald Trump’s electoral victory over Hillary Clinton in November of 2016, leaders of the now-socialist Democrat Party and their deranged legions of “useful idiots” have claimed that the election was stolen.

This theme fueled Robert Mueller’s contrived Russian-collusion investigation into how Trump and the Russians conspired to defeat Clinton. But as it turns out, they didn’t collude — which all but the most dimwitted partisans already knew. However, the Leftmedia’s endless delusional dramatization of the greatest crime in American political history made for great diversionary theater over the last 30 months — and generated a lot of revenue.

Ironically, this collusion between the Demos and their media propagandists was, in large measure, responsible for their victory in the 2018 midterm elections — ironic because it ensured that Vladimir Putin did influence our elections.

Additionally, the Demos’ “Hate Trump” platform has emboldened new socialist cadres and boosted socialist protagonist Bernie Sanders to the front of the 2020 pack. But they are deeply concerned about their 2020 presidential prospects under the current “antiquated constitutional system” that only allows U.S. citizens to vote and requires a majority of electoral votes state-by-state to determine a presidential victory.

The old FDR model for buying elections — redistributing wealth and entitlements in exchange for votes — didn’t work in 2016, when a substantial number of blue-collar “deplorables” defected from Clinton to Trump, from Democrat to Republican. Democrats now worry that these deplorables are even more firmly in the Trump camp than ever and that the Electoral College is somehow rigged against them. Of course, it is the Democrats who are perennially rigging elections to dilute voter integrity.

So, what’s a Demo to do?

Since they’re concerned about their ability to defeat Trump under the current rules — even given their feigned threats of impeachment and the economic instability that creates — their solution is much more radical.

Democrats are in the process of changing election rules, which will virtually guarantee them majority rule in the near future.

And make no mistake — the leftists at the head of the Demo-dragon are pulling out all the stops to enact those rule changes, thereby “transforming” our Constitutional Republic into a mob-rule democracy. Of course, Democrat initiatives are never bridled by the Constitution or the antiquated notion of Rule of Law, opting instead for the rule of men.

Here is the lineup of the Democrats’ nine strategic objectives to purge the Constitution from our electoral process and ensure their perpetual majority: 1) resist attempts to secure our southern border and thereby allow illegal immigrants to flood the country; 2) give illegals voting rights; 3) oppose voter-ID requirements; 4) rig the census so that illegals are counted as U.S. citizens and districts can be redrawn accordingly; 5) lower the voting age to introduce a younger, more ignorant, and more impressionable demographic; 6) centralize elections so the outcome can more easily be rigged; 7) give statehood to overwhelmingly Democratic Puerto Rico and Washington, DC; 8) abolish the constitutionally mandated Electoral College; and finally, 9) pack the Supreme Court with additional justices to make sure their plan for a permanent Democrat majority faces no legal hurdles.

Democrats clearly want to open our southern border and extend voting rights to all the illegal immigrants who have poured, and continue to pour, across that border, knowing that these poor, low-skilled immigrants are overwhelmingly predisposed to their welfare-state policies. At the same time, Demos vehemently oppose voter-ID requirements in states that don’t allow illegal immigrants to vote.

If they’re successful at blocking citizenship questions on the 2020 U.S. Census, Democrats will be able to artificially inflate the population demographics of “sanctuary” cities and states to increase their districts and thus, increase their electoral votes.

Democrats are always endeavoring to dumb-down the electorate, and what better way to do that than reducing the voting age to 16? As Speaker Nancy Pelosi says, “I myself have always been for lowering the voting age to 16. I think it’s really important to capture kids when they’re in high school, when they’re interested in all of this, when they’re learning about government, to be able to vote.”

Of course, there hasn’t been a real civics class taught in a public high school for three decades, so this has nothing to do with engaging civic-minded young people and everything to do with mobilizing brainwashed minions.

Central to the Democrats’ efforts to expand their voter ranks was passage of HR1, the so-called For the People Act to “expand Americans’ access to the ballot box,” mostly by federalizing state and local elections. That bill provides for mass voter registrations, voting rights for illegal aliens, voting rights for convicted felons while in prison, and same-day voter registration — meaning no verification. It will sit in the House, however, until a Democrat Senate majority can be secured.

Of HR1, Investor’s Business Daily warns: “Far-left media advocates for the Democrats have benignly called the proposed new law ‘election reform,’ claimed it ‘could save American Democracy’ and characterized it as ‘a sweeping anti-corruption proposal.’ It is none of those things. Instead, H.R.1 is a shocking power grab on the part of the Democrats who seek to nationalize all elections so they can permanently silence the Red States that stand in their way. It does so by transferring most of the power over elections to the federal government, and taking it away from the states, as the Constitution requires.”

HR1 is so offensive to our Constitution that even the leftist American Civil Liberties Union opposed it, protesting that the bill would “unconstitutionally impinge on the free speech rights of American citizens and public interest organizations.”

As HR1 reached the House floor, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) noted that he “offered a motion to recommit #HR1 reaffirming that only US citizens should have the right to vote. Dems rejected it.” Thus, he said, “Next time you go to the ballot box, keep that in mind. The future of their party is in cities like San Fran, where illegals can vote. Let that sink in.”

Of course, creating states out of socioeconomically dependent jurisdictions or territories is a quick way to increase Democrat representation in the Senate, and that’s the objective of active and ongoing efforts to win statehood for the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Last, and most insidious in terms of subverting our Constitution’s electoral mandate, is the effort to abolish the Electoral College — the method by which we’ve elected our presidents since 1789. Pursuant to Article II, Section 1, Clause 2, the legislature of each state determines the manner by which its electors are chosen. Democrats are well down the road to sabotaging the Electoral College by rigging how states cast their electoral votes.

According to Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), who is leading the 2020 candidates’ electoral-subterfuge movement, “Every vote matters and the way we can make that happen is that we can have national voting, and that means get rid of the Electoral College.”

Actually, the Electoral College ensures that every vote matters, and not just those in a few states with massive urban centers. What the Democrats are setting up is “Urbana versus America,” an effort to make sure that New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and a few other large and deeply Democrat metropolises dictate policy for the rest of the nation.

By way of review, in their timeless wisdom, our Founders ensured that a few states would not be able to exercise dominion over all the other states. Alexander Hamilton in Federalist No. 68, regarding “The Mode of Electing the President,” wrote about the brilliance of the Electoral College.

James Madison explained in Federalist No. 39, regarding “Conformity of the Plan to Republican Principles,” that our election system should be a combination of state-based and population-based selection. States would have a number of representatives in the House based on population, while each state would have two members in the Senate. And the president would be elected by a combined representation of state electors.

Additionally, in Federalist No. 10, regarding “Safeguard Against Domestic Faction and Insurrection,” James Madison outlined the danger of “an interested and overbearing majority” and the “mischiefs of faction,” which he defined as “a number of citizens whether amounting to a majority or minority of the whole, who are united and actuated by some common impulse of passion, or of interest, adverse to the rights of other citizens, or to the permanent and aggregate interests of the community.”

The number of electors in each state is, of course, equal to the total of each state’s Senate and House members. There are currently 100 senators and 435 representatives, plus three electors from the District of Columbia, for a combined total of 538 electors. Thus, when a presidential candidate reaches 270 electoral votes, he or she is the victor.

In recent decades, three presidents didn’t win a majority of votes but did win the Electoral College vote.

Bill Clinton failed to win a popular majority in either of his presidential victories, receiving just 43% in 1992 and 49% in 1996. In the 2000 election, neither George W. Bush nor Albert Gore gained a popular majority of the votes, with Bush narrowly defeating Gore with 271 electoral votes.

Likewise, in 2016, neither Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump received a popular majority of votes, but Trump won where it mattered, trouncing Clinton 304 to 227 in the Electoral College.

If Democrats succeed in their National Popular Vote campaign to negate the Electoral College, however, they will ensure that a few large states control all the rest.

Wealthy leftists, including the likes of George Soros and his archenemies of Liberty, are bankrolling the National Popular Vote movement.

According to the compact, states will award electors to whoever wins the national popular vote even if a majority of a member state’s voters supported another candidate. By definition, this goes against the stated purpose of the compact and Sen. Warren’s assertion that “every vote matters.”

The signatories to the NPV effort agree that it will take effect when there are enough states to reach 270 electoral votes. It currently has 181. The NPV has already been enacted into law in 15 states and jurisdictions, representing 189 electoral votes. Those include five smaller states (DE, HI, RI, VT) and DC; six medium-size states (CO, CT, MD, MA, NM, WA); and four of the nation’s largest states (CA, IL, NJ, NY).

While these Democrat-controlled states will likely not reach 270 by 2020, they will very likely reach that level by 2024. And they will weaponize the Federal Election Commission to ensure they do.

Finally, to ensure that all these measures to produce a permanent Democrat majority face no legal hurdles, leftists have renewed their call to pack the Supreme Court, as FDR endeavored to do under cover of the Great Depression.

In sum, the Democrats’ multiple-vector effort to change the rules is all about absolute power over principles, and their effort to abolish the Electoral College in particular has ominous implications for the future of Liberty.

As Founder John Adams wrote, “We should be unfaithful to ourselves if we should ever lose sight of the danger to our liberties if anything partial or extraneous should infect the purity of our free, fair, virtuous, and independent elections.”

That institutional infection is now epidemic.
