Trump pulls ICE director nominee
President Donald Trump’s nomination of Richard “Lance” Schroyer as ICE director has been pulled after the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee held it up. The committee’s chairman, Republican Rand Paul, who placed the hold, explained, “I don’t have a concern with who the nominee was. I had asked them to give me an update on the internal investigation into civilian deaths.” Paul was referencing the ICE-involved shooting deaths in Minnesota earlier this year. The White House gave no explanation for the decision to pull Schroyer’s nomination. The ICE director position has not had a successful Senate confirmation vote since the Obama administration. Current Acting ICE Director David Venturella, who entered the position on June 1, will continue to lead the agency.

The lone Clancy juror finally speaks out
The sole holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy case has finally spoken out concerning his fellow jurors. Michael Desronvil is the mysterious defender of sanity in this case, and he brings some very disturbing insights. According to Ray Marcel, who interviewed the lone juror, eight people on the 12-person jury were angling for not guilty on day one. “That was on day one. Eight were going not guilty. Two were for guilty. And two didn’t know. They didn’t make up their mind.” Desronvil called them “activists” because they constantly tried to coerce the remaining four jurors into voting not guilty. The point of any court case is that the decision must be made after deliberation and after the evidence is presented, not before.

Leftmedia bias in Clancy trial
The Media Research Center has examined news coverage of Lindsay Clancy and the holdout juror since the trial ended with a hung jury. Clancy strangled her three little children to death, and her lawyer argued that she was not guilty because of postpartum psychosis. Only one of 12 jurors voted to convict Clancy. The big three broadcasting networks — ABC, CBS, and NBC — portrayed Clancy 65% positively and the holdout 95% negatively. Statistics also show that two-thirds of Leftmedia outlets failed to explain clearly why Clancy was on trial. Many networks quoted jurors who slimed the holdout and claimed Clancy loved her children. When NBC10 Boston learned the holdout’s identity, it released an article digging up dirt on the black man’s alleged criminal past. The Leftmedia picked up the story, rallying around the child killer and vilifying the man who called her guilty.

Judge blocks Trump committee from demolishing the Kennedy Center
District Judge Christopher Cooper has apparently made it his purpose to protect the Kennedy Center from any and all actions by President Trump. After photos circulated online showing Trump reading a poster that apparently read “Kennedy Center DEMOLISHED,” Judge Cooper responded within hours with an order requiring 30 days’ notice before any demolition or other changes to the current renovation plans. Democrats would have Americans believe Trump simply has it out for the center; indeed, Rep. Joyce Beatty (D-OH) argues Trump violated the law by shutting down the center earlier this week. What hasn’t been widely reported is the center’s condition. Heavy rains led to a section of the ceiling in the grand foyer collapsing earlier this month. Had people been in the foyer at the time, they could have been killed.

Poland warns Russia is planning attack on NATO
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk gave a speech on Thursday warning about future dangers from Russia. Tusk warned that Russia was planning drone or rocket strikes on NATO countries in Europe that were supporting Ukraine, chief among them being Poland. He also noted that Russia may try to play the situation off as an accident, and that NATO would not need to invoke Article 5 and force the entire alliance to simultaneously declare war on Russia. It has become more evident that Russia is not afraid of attacking targets that are more international, as it has been carrying out strikes near Ukraine’s Polish and Moldovan borders. Russia aims to threaten nations supporting Ukraine’s war effort to potentially isolate the defending nation. Trying to draw NATO’s ire is certainly a bold strategy; let’s see how it works out for Russia.

Senate Dems block bill that protects consumers from high electricity costs
On Thursday, Senate Democrats blocked a vote on bipartisan legislation that the House had passed by a resounding 417–3 vote. Dubbed the Ratepayer Protection Act, it aims to protect consumers from electricity cost increases tied to data centers. Republican Jon Husted, who introduced the bill, explained, “The companies creating enormous new demands for electricity should pay the costs required to serve them.” However, Senate Democrats led by Martin Heinrich objected to the legislation, claiming that it doesn’t go far enough to protect consumers. Republican Bernie Moreno blasted Democrats’ claimed objections, contending that the real reason was “so they could just put up another TV ad to say that electricity prices are high, so that they can win an election.”

ActBlue’s foreign donation cover-up
ActBlue, the primary fundraising platform for Democrats seeking election, knew it was committing fraud in 2024. A new congressional report reveals that ActBlue’s own description of its behavior in 2024 says it took “a more lenient approach” to fraud prevention, knowing that this would lead to a measurable increase in fraud. The organization’s fraud prevention team was instructed to “look for reasons to accept contributions” rather than searching for reasons to reject them. ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace-Jones told Congress in 2023 that any donation from outside the U.S. requires a passport number; the congressional report reveals that staff checked those passport numbers only for character count, not for validity as a U.S. passport number. One ActBlue supervisor even instructed staff to give a donor “the benefit of the doubt,” despite setting off a lot of alarms.

Trump rolls back Biden’s hunting restrictions
In a White House Rose Garden dinner attended by many important figures in the hunting industry, President Trump signed an order rolling back Biden-era bans on traditional lead ammunition and tackle. The president also signed an order that opens public land and waterways to more hunting and fishing opportunities, including recreational fishing. Lastly, he announced initiatives aimed at increasing the popularity of hunting among American youth. This is a continuation of the president defending the responsible firearm use of regular Americans, and he said that these moves were “the right thing to do.” Cleaning up the damage the Biden administration has caused has always been a top priority for the White House, and this is another positive extension of that trend.

Archbishop of Canterbury awards Islamist extremist, then takes it back
Sarah Mullally, the first female Archbishop of Canterbury, awarded a radical Islamist with an interfaith cooperation award. Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi leads a group of Islamic scholars who supported Osama bin Laden, the terrorist chief behind the 9/11 attacks. Mullally gave him the award on September 11. Ashrafi did not allow Mullally to put the award medal around his neck because his Pakistani strand of Islam believes women are unclean. Meanwhile, the archbishop has said her top priority is promoting female empowerment. Her ideology reflects the Church of England as a whole. British officials have protected Muslim criminals, claimed they learn spirituality from Islam, and silenced those skeptical of the Islamist takeover. After much backlash, Mullally rescinded the award yesterday, admitting that her actions didn’t help interfaith reconciliation.

Ben Shapiro threatened with assassination
A 29-year-old Kansas man was arrested earlier this week for posting multiple death threats against conservative commentator Ben Shapiro. On July 31, Korby Strube posted on X, “I’m going to kill Ben Shapiro and he’s not gonna be alive.” Later, he added, “I’ll kill you just the same. Go meet Jesus. 51 days left.” The countdown to the murder plot aligns with September 20, this year’s Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur. Though Strube lives with his parents, police arrested him in Palm Beach County, Florida, where Shapiro lives. Strube has a history of antisemitic comments and has also made threats against President Trump and President Obama. He faces over 20 charges in court.
