Paris and its suburbs are burning once again, and we here across the pond are mostly yawning about it. But we ought to wake up, ought to take notice, because the rioting that’s currently rending France is coming to a theater near us.
Oh, sure, we’re being told by Le Monde and the rest of France’s legacy media that it’s “mostly peaceful” high school kids complaining about the crappy condition of their public schools. Every article, it seems, refers to these “high school protests,” suggesting that all this could’ve been avoided if the government had merely slapped on a fresh coat of paint in the hallways and replaced all those dog-eared copies of Les Misérables.
But as John Daniel Davidson writes at The Federalist, there’s something wrong with this narrative: “What we see are not protests of classroom conditions, but the wanton destruction of schools, violent attacks on firefighters and police and even teachers, and all the indications of central organization and planning.”
Who knew “high school students” were so organized?
Actually, they’re not. And it’s strange that these high school kids just happen to be mostly male and happen to look a lot more North African than French. Indeed, one social media post after another tells our lyin’ eyes an entirely different story than the one being slopped out by the Leftmedia. What we’re really seeing in France are the rotten fruits of the red-green alliance — red for communism, green for Islamism — an unlikely alliance that exists only because its dissimilar parties have a common enemy: the free-market capitalist Judeo-Christian West.
Oddly, Pope Leo XIV was in France just last week, and he drew 800,000 people to an outdoor mass on the Champs-Élysées — which is remarkable considering the anti-Catholic Jacobin Left long ago flexed its secular muscles in France. But, as Davidson notes, there are two Frances: There’s a Christian-Catholic one, and there’s a red-green leftist-Muslim one, and the latter is conquering the former. Davidson continues:
It’s pretty obvious what’s going on, and who is behind the unrest. This is the Red-Green alliance of the socialist/Antifa left and Muslim immigrants, operationalized to bring the country to its knees through widespread rioting ahead of national elections next year. …
It might be illegal to say so in France, but these are ethnic riots, a show of force by unassimilated Muslim migrants and their hard-left revolutionary allies, who believe that together they are strong enough to overpower the native majority.
Actually, I misspoke earlier when I said that this unholy alliance will soon be coming across the pond. It’s already here. Indeed, the late great leftist apostate David Hororwitz warned us about it in his prescient 2004 book Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left. And Andrew McCarthy, the former federal prosecutor of the World Trade Center bombers, reiterated it in his 2010 book The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America. And, more recently, Victor Davis Hanson talked about on a Daily Signal podcast titled “The Strange Alliance Between Islam and Socialism.”
There’s certainly a useful idiocy within the Left in allowing Islam to infect its movement, but the ultimate result of this collaboration has a historical precedent in revolutionary Iran, where the Ayatollah, upon having used the Left to help depose the Shah and then seize power, ultimately shoots the leftists because he never liked them and no longer needed them.
The alliance, though, works because Islam is calculating and pragmatic, and because the Left is vain and willing to overlook the fact that Muslims would just as soon push their people off of buildings as to ascribe to their cultish LGBTQ orthodoxy.
When we open our eyes, we see elements of this red-green alliance all over the place. We see it in France, of course, but also in the UK, where Pakistani rape gangs were allowed to prey upon tens of thousands of young lower-class white girls and do so for decades with relative impunity due to Great Britain’s impotent and politically correct leadership. We see it in Iran’s partnership with the Democrats ahead of the midterms. We see it in the coalition that elected radical socialist Muslim Zohran Mamdani in our once greatest city. Yesterday, on October 7, on the three-year commemoration of Israel’s 9/11, Mamdani felt empowered to briefly acknowledge that awful anniversary and then scold Israel in the city with the largest Jewish population outside of Israel. “The suffering did not begin nor end that day,” he said. “It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza.”
How vile can a popularly elected politician be? This lying dog was prattling on about “genocide” before Israel even invaded Gaza. (Incidentally, when you see a guy waving a Palestinian flag, especially in New York City on October 7, you should think: “This person wants to kill all the Jews.” And Jew-hatred is another common cause of the red-green alliance.)
We also see this alliance at work in the telltale candidacy of the most radical leftist to ever run for U.S. Senate on a major-party ticket, Abdul El-Sayed, in Michigan; and we see it in the unwillingness of Minnesota’s Democrats to crack down on the Somali gangs and fraud in their midst, and in the anti-ICE protests against our immigration laws, and in the useful idiocy of their martyrs, Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
In all of these cases, leftists fear the political clout of the powerful Muslim voting bloc in their midst, and so they go along to get along.
“If we don’t put an end to Muslim immigration,” concludes Davidson of the unrest in France, “that’s what our future holds.” But what he seems to overlook is the very real problem of the Muslims who are already here, already taking over cities like Dearborn and Hamtramck (pronounced Ham-TRAM-ick) and throwing up one mosque after another in Texas, of all places.
We might not be terribly interested in Islam at the moment, but Islam is most definitely interested in us and our institutions. Which is why if we continue to ignore this red-green alliance, we do so at our peril.
