“No one is above the law,” said The World’s Best Investor, Nancy Pelosi, in 2019.

Pelosi was referring to the Democrats’ first formal impeachment inquiry into Donald Trump, this one for having dared to suggest on a phone call with the Ukrainian president that the corrupt duo of Joe and Hunter Biden might be engaged in corrupt business dealings with a corrupt Ukrainian energy company.

But while Pelosi’s Trump-deranged motivations were utterly impure, what she said does ring true in a constitutional republic: No one is above the law.

And “no one” also pertains to a certain Somali-born brother-marrying immigration-law-flouting Jew-hating grifter who somehow still manages to represent Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District.

Accordingly, the DC home of the aforementioned grifter, Ilhan Omar, was raided early yesterday morning by federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations, the investigative arm of DHS. As Fox News reports, “Two sources close to the investigation say the search stems from a criminal fraud investigation into [Omar’s] immigration paperwork, which was filled out by her late father when she was a child.”

“No one is above the law,” said Omar herself in 2023 upon the criminal indictment of Donald Trump by a Manhattan grand jury. The sanctimonious Somali continued, “Our democracy [sic] rests on the rule of law. When someone — no matter how powerful they are — is suspected of a criminal act, our justice system investigates, charges, and convicts them in accordance with due process.”

Omar is still a long way from being indicted. And, frankly, I’d be surprised if any incriminating evidence was collected during yesterday’s raid. Why? Because if I know anything about how that rotten Democrat-controlled Swamp works, she’d probably been tipped off well in advance, especially given that Border Czar Tom Homan had noted last year that investigators were reviewing her immigration records, and given that Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin had hinted weeks ago that she was under investigation, and given that there was “significant back and forth between prosecutors and the federal judge” who eventually approved the search warrant. But we’ll see.

The harrumphing from The New York Times was entirely predictable: “The search takes place within the 60-day window of the midterm elections, when the Justice Department has historically avoided such investigative steps related to political candidates.”

Strange, but I couldn’t find any similar harrumphing from the Times when Hatchet Jack Smith broke that same 60-day rule to persecute Donald Trump in September 2024.

“I’m ok,” Omar told her supporters in an X post following the raid. “Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.”

Bummer. I was kinda hoping her lawyers would tell her to stop shrieking — you know, for her own good.

But, hey, she and her fellow Democrats should be happy, no? I mean: “No one is above the law,” said Joe Biden. And Merrick Garland. And Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. And Rashida Tlaib. And Hakeem Jeffries. And Chuck Schumer. And Adam Schiff. And Honest Injun Elizabeth Warren. And...

Our immigration laws are certainly important, and the Trump administration’s message here is that we don’t have two tiers of justice — one for the rich and powerful, and another for ordinary schlubs like us. But if they’re going to investigate Omar on some question of whether her dad falsified his immigration papers all those years ago and thereby rendered his daughter’s immigration status null and void, I hope they’ll also ask for some DNA evidence to conclude, once and for all, whether she married her brother in 2009 in order to skirt our immigration laws and get him into the country.

I also hope they’ll investigate her, uh, curious financial disclosures. As Fox News further reports, “In 2024, the congresswoman reported that her husband possessed between $6 million and $30 million in assets. A more recent 2025 financial disclosure report shows Omar’s revised value of shared assets between her and husband to sit at a maximum of $125,000 — a multimillion-dollar drop from the year prior, a difference of about 29.9 million.”

Omar claims it was simply an accounting error, which I guess is understandable. Heck, I don’t know how many times I’ve made multimillion-dollar mistakes on my own financial disclosures.

“Now it is up to all of us, as citizens and elected leaders,” said Omar when the target was Trump, “to support accountability and to follow the facts where they lead. ... I hope all of my colleagues will join me in supporting justice and accountability — regardless of party — for the sake of our democracy.”

It’s a republic, Ilhan, but whatever.
