Last Sunday, conservative activists set up a table at the University of Michigan to host a free speech event with Liberty Under Fire USA. At their table, the hosts had signs that read, “Is Islam compatible with the West?” Jewish conservative influencer Lizzy Benichou organized the event.
Unbeknownst to the Liberty Under Fire crew, someone had already called the police on them for a noise complaint — which, as you’ll see, turned out to be a good thing.
While most students were respectful, one student, Temulun Togochog — a fan of Senator-elect Abdul El-Sayed — decided to antagonize the conservative activists.
First, Togochog confronted the men at the table, even smacking one of them while clapping in his face and asking whether they had a permit to be there. (Unfortunately, Liberty Under Fire did not.) After that, she approached Benichou and began yelling at her, at which point Benichou replied that Togochog would not be allowed to voice her thoughts aloud or wear tight athletic attire in Iran. “If you were in Iran dressed like this, what would happen to you?” Benichou asked rhetorically.
Benichou then addressed some Jordanian students who were there to support her testimony — but looking away from Togochog was a mistake. Togochog lunged at Benichou, shoving her to the ground, aiming a kick at her, and screaming profanities. Bystanders quickly pulled Togochog away from Benichou. Miraculously, police — already on the scene because of the noise complaint and because the university discovered the event was unauthorized — arrived within seconds.
Togochog fought the cops all the way to the police cruiser, and some of her final words included the phrase, “I should have f-cking killed her when I had the chance!” Togochog was booked and has already been released pending a warrant. Benichou is planning on pressing charges.
Togochog’s story is very sad. From what we currently know, she fled China with her family as a Mongolian refugee, then became an activist speaking out against the Chinese regime. Now, she embodies the quintessential leftist radical college student in the U.S. This is where radical leftism leads.
Conservatives have been warning about this. Leftists don’t believe in tolerance; they believe in utter submission to their own ideas and values — and some will go so far as to kill you if you disagree.
There are a myriad of examples. A radical leftist read a “kirkaversary poem” to a TPUSA booth celebrating Charlie Kirk’s murder. Another radical leftist posted a story on social media about going to kill President Donald Trump. Leftists writ large hung Republicans in effigy as Halloween decorations. Even yesterday at a New Hampshire polling station, an angry Boomer flipped the bird at a teenage TPUSA volunteer and slapped him after the kid told the senior leftist that he didn’t know much about his positions because he didn’t have statistics to back them up.
We know that leftists hate anyone who disagrees with them, but the extreme level of demonic rage that enters their bodies is always shocking and unnerving. They truly do see anyone who doesn’t toe the Marxist line as a threat to be eliminated.
Such a reaction is more than a political disagreement. It is a soul sickness — a manifestation of festering sin, spiritual dryness, and a lack of self-control.
