Anyone who has been a Patriot Post reader for any length of time knows we’ve been sounding the alarm about the steady advance of Marxism in our country. It began 118 years ago with a group of Marxists in New York City. The goal: replace America’s Christian worldview with Marxist ideology.

They were the elites of their day, and it continues to this day. Our “betters” want us to live our lives in submission to their ideology. It began with Upton Sinclair, an author who started the group. Others included author Jack London, lawyer Clarence Darrow, and Walter Lippman, a reporter and director of the Council on Foreign Relations. It also included Walter Reuther, future president of the United Auto Workers, and Eugene Debs, a five-time Socialist candidate for president.

They began the “long game” of birthing Marxism in our nation, and their fellow travelers have never quit. It began with a quiet revolution and advanced to the radicals we know today who hold political office. I’m thinking of people like Senator Bernie Sanders, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and others. They’re blatant Marxists who want to see this country brought to its knees.

The elitists didn’t fade away back in the early 1900s. We only have to look back to 1963, when the goals of the Communist Party here in America were read into the Congressional Record. Discovered by a former FBI agent, Willard Cleon Skousen, and documented in his book, The Naked Communist, it was first published in 1958. The communists had 45 goals to bring America to its knees. By all indications, the communists are on their way to winning!

Some of their goals: Gain control of one of the political parties (No. 15); take control of the schools (No. 17); discredit American culture and eliminate good sculptures from parks and buildings (No. 22); and promote homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as normal and healthy (No. 26).

Several more include: Discredit the family as an institution and encourage promiscuity and divorce (No. 40); infiltrate and control unions (No. 36); and infiltrate and gain control of big business. I encourage you to read all of them.

Think of how many businesses have gone “woke” in recent years. Think of how Big Tech and the mainstream media have been able to effectively silence the voices of anyone who dares to express an opinion other than the official government version. This creeping, crawling Marxism of the past seems to be running at a gallop today. Because at least a generation of our kids, probably two, have been indoctrinated in Marxist ideas, the communists have gained so much ground.

Having only briefly pointed out the dangers we are facing in our country, it is not hopeless. For 70 years, despite the “Iron Curtain” in Europe and then the “Bamboo Curtain” around China, North Korea, and Vietnam, Christians in those places remained committed to prayer. Meeting secretly to pray, worship, and study scripture, God heard their desperate prayers. Who believed in 1989 we would see the Berlin Wall fall followed by the collapse of the Soviet Union as suddenly as it did? The power of prayer should never be underestimated.

If there truly are millions of Americans who claim to be followers of Christ, the power to change the direction of our nation is in our hands. To do nothing is to surrender everything to the enemy of our soul. Surrender is not in my vocabulary! How about you?
