Joe Biden’s Orwellian ‘Defense’ of Democracy
His big campaign ad and speeches this week are meant to “unify” by division and fear.
Joe Biden certainly can’t run on his record as president, which is abysmal. He’s directly responsible for the highest inflation in a generation, a border invasion, and chaos around the world, just to name a few. Beyond that, the president who came into office promising to bring “unity” has delivered nothing but division based on demonizing his political opponents. That’s the record he’s going to double down on as he ramps up his ostensible reelection campaign to remain in the Oval Office until he’s 86.
Biden, who has held zero public events since December 22, is headed to Valley Forge later today for a speech. George Washington and his army of Patriots fought for American independence by throwing off the shackles of tyrannical British rule, but Biden plans to co-opt that effort to condemn the “MAGA extremists” who rioted at the Capitol on January 6, 2021. (He moved up the speech to today due to incoming weather.)
On Monday, the Associated Press reports that he’s also planning to “visit Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, where nine people were shot and killed in a June 2015 white supremacist attack.”
It’s all part of an orchestrated campaign theme that “democracy” in America is threatened by Donald Trump and the “racist” MAGA hordes he commands. It’s reminiscent of the thing Biden claims propelled him to run in the 2020 election — the Charlottesville lie.
“We are running a campaign like the fate of our democracy depends on it because it does,” said Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Biden’s reelection campaign manager. Campaign communications director Michael Tyler sounded the same refrain: “The leading candidate of a major party in the United States is running for president so that he can systematically dismantle and destroy our democracy.”
Reminder: We’re a Republic.
“Democracy” depends on Biden’s victory so much, in fact, that Democrats around the country are trying to prevent people from democratically voting for Trump by disqualifying him from state ballots and trying to throw him in jail on largely trumped-up charges. And that’s after spending the four years of his duly elected presidency waging a deep state coup against him. By the way, Biden’s Democrat Party is also keeping his primary challengers off the ballot in several states.
Reminder: We’re not supposed to be a banana republic.
As for Biden’s campaign, he soft-launched it last April with an ad promising to “finish the job.” Given his record, that landed like an old fella who tripped over a sandbag, so he’s trying something new old — vilifying half the country.
His new ad released yesterday is a preview of how he’ll move forward.
I’ve made the preservation of American democracy the central issue of my presidency. I believe in free and fair elections and the right to vote fairly and have your vote counted.
There’s something dangerous happening in America. There’s an extremist movement that does not share the basic beliefs in our democracy. All of us are being asked right now, “What will we do to maintain our democracy?” History is watching. The world is watching. Most important, our children and grandchildren will hold us responsible.
There’s a boatload we could say about that ad and Biden’s comments, but we’ll briefly hit three big points about democracy-undermining division caused by Democrats.
First, the real extremists are the Left’s Rainbow Mafia groomers, who do not share basic American and scientific beliefs regarding sex, families, or the well-being of children. Those beliefs are central to maintaining our form of government, as well as preserving our cultural history and future.
Speaking of history, that’s point number two. Democrats are the party of erasing, toppling, and rewriting history. “History is watching,” indeed.
Finally and most importantly, Democrats are pushing hard to undermine the integrity of elections — effectively rigging the results — with bulk-mail balloting. There’s even an image in Biden’s ad of someone peering into a ballot dropbox, the faux implication being that every vote should be counted properly.
The reason there was a January 6 riot in the first place is that Democrats had so tainted the 2020 election that half the country didn’t think it was conducted fairly. It’s not surprising that a couple hundred of them got carried away, a few resorting to violence. And even for those disgraceful few, Americans are finding more sympathy three years later because of the way the J6 defendants have been treated.
As Mark Alexander routinely notes, “By comparison, almost all of the Democrat ‘summer of rage’ constituents, their so-called ’Black Lives Matter’ radicals and ‘antifa movement’ fascists, who, for months ahead of the 2020 election, murdered cops and civilians, and looted and destroyed urban centers, have never been arrested.”
In short, Biden isn’t campaigning on the assertion that he deserves another term. He’s just banking on scaring enough voters regarding a second Trump term that they’ll settle for Biden instead. It’s “unity” by division.
