Jordan Peterson, psychologist and retired University of Toronto psychology professor, has become a hated figure to those on the Left. This is particularly true of his Canadian colleagues who have been on a witch hunt to force him to comply with their woke agenda.

Peterson’s troubles began when he started speaking out against the absurdity of leftist culture. He stopped seeing patients in 2017. In 2018, he started to make videos on YouTube specifically to reach out to young men and encourage them. This is the exact opposite of what leftist woke culture does — it seeks to destroy young men or at least emasculate them.

For the leftist overlords in Canada, a series of different tweets on social media put Peterson on their radar. He openly criticized Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, transgenderism, preferred pronouns, and overweight models. These each violate the sensibilities of different protected classes of the woke and Canadian leftist elite.

Then one post in 2022 officially got him kicked off of pre-Elon Musk Twitter. In it, Peterson called Ellen Page by her name — though the actress had decided that she is actually a man and wants everyone to call her Elliot. Peterson was drawing attention to the criminality of the doctors who agreed to butcher her, but the wokesters were mad that he “dead-named” her. So, the Twitter censors swooped in and banned his account.

After his first public cancellation attempt (his ban was very short-lived, as Musk bought Twitter shortly afterward and Peterson was reinstated), the College of Psychologists of Ontario launched an investigation into Peterson’s Twitter (now X) comments and really all public statements from the psychologist.

The College of Psychologists is the governing body that oversees professional psychologists in Canada. It decided to make an example of Peterson. It attacked him as a psychologist, saying that his comments on X and on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast were “degrading, demeaning and unprofessional” and posed a “moderate risks of harm to the public.” The case is built on other faulty legs, such as people claiming to be former patients of Peterson’s who were not, in fact, seeing him as a professional psychologist. Also, keep in mind that by 2018, Peterson was no longer a college professor or seeing any patients.

Peterson, for his part, maintained throughout that his comments were not made as a psychologist but as a private citizen and, therefore, were protected under Canada’s free speech laws.

The College of Psychologists decided to take disciplinary action anyway. It ordered Peterson to take mandatory social media training on professionalism, which he has to pay for and comply with in order to keep his license.

Peterson resisted the decision and appealed his case to the highest court in Ontario. The court, without any explanation, just rejected his appeal and denied him his right to challenge the College of Psychologists edict. There is no more legal recourse for Peterson to protect his rights. The woke ideologues that now rule Canada have won.

Sadly, this seems to be a common theme in Canada. Our neighbors to the north have been slipping into the void of woke totalitarianism. Recall how Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed the peaceful protest of the Canadian truckers. He used the Emergency Act to pressure GoFundMe into defunding the donations to the truckers.

Also recall how he helped bolster racial tensions of the native Canadians against Christians, even demanding that the pope come and apologize for the treatment and “mass deaths” of native children at the hands of Residential Schools. No graves have been found to date, but that didn’t stop activists from burning down churches.

The tyranny of those in power in Canada is a foretaste of what’s coming down the pike in the U.S.

We’ve already seen it. Emergency powers during COVID to rig elections; racial riots over perceived bigotry while actual racism in the form of anti-Semitism is being championed by the so-called anti-racists; and even political hit jobs against people who are perceived as the enemy, the most prominent being former President Donald Trump.

As the late President Ronald Reagan once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.”

Let us not be the generation that allows that freedom to be taken away.
