Psaki Gets Clocked for Revisionist History
Jen Psaki said Joe Biden didn’t check his watch during a military ceremony. Fact-check: False.
Joe Biden is a fabulist and serial liar, especially when it comes to his autobiography. His wife and daughter were not killed by a drunk driver. His son did not die in Iraq. He didn’t drive an 18-wheeler. He wasn’t arrested in a civil rights protest or when he tried to meet Nelson Mandela. He didn’t graduate at the top of his law school class. You get the idea.
Well, his administration employees, past and present, evidently think it’s their full-time job to lie and rewrite history for him, too. Former Press Secretary Jen Psaki is still doing it, despite departing the administration for a job at MSNBC. (Yeah, I know — same difference.)
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem isn’t the only one facing flack for an untrue anecdote in her new book. Psaki is now making a correction in her recently released book, Say More, in which she denied that Biden looked at his watch during a receiving ceremony for the 13 Americans killed in a terrorist attack during his disastrous surrender and retreat from Afghanistan in 2021.
“The president looked at his watch only after the ceremony had ended,” Psaki falsely asserted. “Moments later, he and the First Lady headed toward their car.” That was a lie, which we knew then thanks to videos, photos, and eyewitness accounts. Why on earth would Psaki think she could get away with lying now?
Perhaps because the Leftmedia “fact-checkers” do little but argue with the opinions of conservatives — except in this case, in which they said at the time that Biden did indeed check his watch multiple times.

The loved ones of the slain American service personnel certainly aren’t letting Psaki get away with it. “Her useless a** wasn’t even there. We were,” said Mark Schmitz, whose son Jared was killed. “What she wrote was absolutely disgusting and clearly only for political and financial gain at the expense of grieving Gold Star families.”
Steve Nikoui, whose son Kareem was killed, agreed: “I witnessed it with my own eyes. She is a perfect example of the administration: all lies and false propaganda.” Nikoui, you may recall, heckled Biden during his State of the Union address this year and narrowly avoided charges.
Added Darin Hoover, who lost his son Darin that day, “Jen ‘Circle Back’ Psaki is just a vile, shameless human being.”
In response, Psaki issued a statement that the “detail in a few lines of the book about the exact number of times he looked at his watch will be removed in future reprints and the ebook.” She went on to try to relate to grieving families. “The story on Afghanistan,” she added, “is really about the importance of delivering feedback even when it is difficult told through my own experience of telling President Biden that his own story of loss was not well received by the families who were grieving their sons and daughters.”
She is correct that Biden’s repeated and false story about being a Gold Star father himself is disgraceful and terribly offensive. “I know how you feel,” he told Cheryl Rex, whose son Dylan Merola died in Kabul. “We lost our son as well and brought him home in a flag-draped coffin.”
Again, his son Beau died of cancer here in the States. That’s difficult, and I have sympathy. Just stop lying about it.
He’s even used that story to disparage his opponent, Donald Trump, with yet another false story about how Trump supposedly dishonored the fallen. Lie about disparaging our troops and redirect by lying about someone else. It’s the Biden way.
Psaki is incorrect, however, about “the story on Afghanistan.” That story isn’t about her; it’s about Biden’s deadly failure. Thirteen Americans and scores of Afghans died in an attack that never should have happened. Worse, all the blood and treasure spent by the American people to secure our national security in Afghanistan have been wasted. The country has reverted to Taliban control. It would be as if we’d never been there except for the billions of dollars worth of military equipment Biden abandoned to our enemies.
During the withdrawal, Biden called the Taliban “businesslike and professional.” After it was done, he defended the “extraordinary success” of it all. Now, the Islamofascist group has turned Afghanistan into the same repressive seventh-century terrorist haven it was 25 years ago. Check the April report of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction.
“The story on Afghanistan” is a lot bigger than Afghanistan, too. It’s about how Russia was emboldened to invade Ukraine. It’s about how Iran was emboldened to attack Israel, both directly and through proxies. It’s about how China is calculating a strategy for coming across the Taiwan Strait. Biden is old, weak, and totally adrift on foreign policy.
And the whole world knows what time it is.
