Not all conspiracy theories are false. However, the term immediately conjures up images of tinfoil hat-wearing crazies who rant about such things as space aliens being real or Donald Trump being a Russian stooge.

Indeed, Democrats and their Leftmedia cohorts have long charged conservatives of being “conspiracy theorists” whenever they seek to discredit a claim without having to put forward a counterargument. It’s the grade-school equivalent of the dismissive remark, You actually believe that?!

The reason it has often worked is that there are genuinely nutty conspiracy theories that some folks on the political fringe accept. However, the Leftmedia paints every speculative theory espoused by those on the Right as evidence-free quackery — theories like COVID’s lab-leak origin or that Hunter Biden’s laptop was actually real.

The latest example of this involves the Democrats’ Joe Biden problem. Conservatives have long asked how the Democrats can replace Biden, especially given that he clearly doesn’t want to step down. Politico recently ran an article titled, “Conservatives See a Conspiracy Around Joe Biden’s Stumbles.” The subhead ridiculously states, “The right has become obsessed with the media after the president’s bad debate.” Really?

The New York Times painted it this way: “How Biden’s Stumbles Collided With a Right-Wing Conspiracy Theory.” The teaser added, “Some far-right commentators have long argued that Democratic Party elites were plotting to replace President Biden. Now those commentators say they’ll be proved correct.”

And they are. It’s no conspiracy theory; it’s conspiracy fact.

The reason conservative media has speculated about the Democrats seeking to remove Biden is because of rumors and reports often parroted by other Leftmedia outlets. Axios, for example, recently published a story that Democrats are “commissioning polls, lobbying former presidents, back-channeling Democratic leaders, organizing donors and taking the fight to Biden in a very public way.”

Furthermore, since Saturday’s assassination attempt on Trump, a number of Democrat lawmakers, who have already been worried that Biden remaining in the race will result in defeat, have now given up on any real hope of beating Trump.

According to NBC News, a Biden ally declared that the Democrat effort to get Biden to step down was “over” and that the replace-Biden effort had lost “all momentum.” Another Democrat strategist observed, “If you’re an advocate for: ‘How do we tell the old man it’s time to go?’ — it’s really hard to have that conversation publicly. This event blocks out the sun right now.”

Perhaps the Democrats have failed in their efforts because many believe the election is effectively over. As a longtime Democrat reportedly stated, “We’re so beyond f***ed.” Another Democrat consultant said, “The presidential contest ended last night,” adding, “Now it’s time to focus on keeping the Senate and trying to pick up the House. The only silver lining for Democrats is that we’re no longer talking about Joe Biden’s age today.”

The point is that just because the Leftmedia dismisses something as a “conspiracy theory,” it doesn’t mean it isn’t true. Indeed, when the Leftmedia screams that a conservative media report is nothing but a conspiracy theory, chances are the report is getting too close to the truth.
