Donald Trump won the 2024 election, and within weeks, Iranian proxy Hezbollah called for a ceasefire. Is Hamas far behind?

Joe Biden is claiming credit, of course. He remains the titular head of the United States government, but we haven’t seen much of him since he abandoned his reelection campaign in July’s scripted transfer to Kamala Harris.

Yet there he was in the White House Rose Garden yesterday, declaring victory. “This is consistent with my commitment to the American people to not put U.S. troops in combat in this conflict,” Biden said. “Instead, we, along with France and others, will provide the necessary assistance to make sure this deal is implemented fully and effectively.”

The truth is that all the blood of those men, women, and children in Israel, Lebanon, and Gaza is on Biden and Harris’s hands. It was their disastrous surrender and retreat from Afghanistan that set the stage for the war in the Middle East, as well as the one between Russia and Ukraine.

Israel is well aware of this. “It is a 60 day ceasefire,” observes Ben Shapiro. “Joe Biden leaves office in 54 days. That is not a coincidence.”

Hezbollah renewed its attacks on northern Israel the day after Hamas slaughtered 1,200 in southern Israel on October 7, 2023. Israel first counterattacked in Gaza, later launching operations in Lebanon that decimated Hezbollah’s leadership and resources. That Hezbollah is now abandoning Hamas is a testament to Israel’s effectiveness. Whether Hezbollah abides by the terms of the ceasefire is, of course, another question.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is ready for it. “If Hezbollah launches a rocket, if it digs a tunnel, if it brings in a truck carrying rockets,” he warned, “we will attack.” The good news is that Israel can more fully turn its attention to fighting Hamas and rescuing any remaining living hostages.

Ever since Israel began fighting back, Biden, Harris, and most Democrats have been placating their anti-Semitic ranks by putting immense pressure on Israel to cease hostilities.

“While the Biden-Harris Administration celebrates this announcement, remember that it is STILL withholding weapons to Israel,” noted House Speaker Mike Johnson. “This Administration put up roadblock after roadblock on Israel and dragged out this conflict. They repeatedly appeased Iran rather than show unequivocal support to our closest ally in the region. Israel’s military success has been in spite of the White House, not because of it.”

Israel is well aware of this, too. Clearly, Netanyahu anticipates a change coming January 20. Trump was a true friend of Israel, even finally keeping a decades-old promise to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem. He and his team crafted the Abraham Accords, bringing a measure of peaceful stability to a region in need of it.

This ceasefire may be a bit of a concession to Team Biden’s pressure, but it provides Israel some breathing room and, if and when Hezbollah violates it, full justification for continuing the mission to destroy the threats to its legitimate existence.
