Military Readiness Incompatible With ‘Trans’ Troops

The Washington Post is playing up the “victimhood” of 10 “transgender” troops who are facing separation due to Donald Trump’s ban on such individuals in the U.S. military.

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social last night to announce a ceasefire in hostilities between Israel and Iran, roughly 48 hours after Operation Midnight Hammer appears to have decimated Iran’s three primary nuclear sites. That ceasefire is tenuous enough to merit an F-bomb from Trump, but nothing is certain when dealing with radical Islamofascists. Even so, Trump is on the right course for a more peaceful Middle East.

Meanwhile, the American Leftmedia is deeply concerned with … people’s sexual choices, which describes Pride Month in a nutshell.

“The Washington Post interviewed 10 transgender troops who have served a combined 133 years in uniform,” states the paper’s sob story subtitle. “As they face deadlines under a new ban, not one wants to leave their careers.”

As advertised, the story goes on to tell the tales of these 10 people and their struggle with service and separation after Trump issued an executive order on January 27 banning “transgender” individuals from service. The Supreme Court upheld it. Activist journalists are particularly apt at conveying the heart-wrenching details of subjects they profile, and this story is no exception.

In the Post’s telling, Trump is the villain, and these patriotic heroes are his victims. (The same goes for the four homosexuals in Africa whose deviant promiscuity led to HIV and AIDS, not, as Reuters tells it, Trump’s cuts to USAID.)

For the record, I’m not taking on the Post’s story because I don’t have any sympathy for people who have given years of their lives to serving in the Armed Forces — far from it. I have close family and friends serving full careers in uniform. Losing that career because of a political change is surely frustrating, to put it mildly. Ask the perfectly healthy military personnel who were discharged for declining Joe Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate.

However, in contrast to those individuals, people with gender dysphoria are manifestly not healthy. They face severe mental health issues, and those who have pursued hormonal or surgical “treatment” have compounded the problem with physical changes rendering them less than fit for the rigors of military service. Military readiness is not enhanced when troops are mentally and physically compromised in such ways. Many other physical and mental conditions are disqualifying.

For more than two centuries, sexual misconduct — including homosexuality — was grounds for punishment or even discharge from the Armed Forces. Barack Obama’s administration undid much of that, even opening the door in 2016 for “transgender” people to serve and benefit from taxpayer funding. Think Bradley Chelsea Manning and his taxpayer money for hormones.

As of the end of 2024, The Washington Post reports, “About 4,200 service members had been diagnosed with gender dysphoria.”

Obama, the Post, and the Rainbow Mafia more generally portrayed the end of restrictions as a gateway to a recruiting bonanza. The Post states that Obama’s rationale for lifting the ban in 2016 was that “doing so would give the military access to the most highly qualified recruits.” Predictably, the opposite happened — by last year, the military faced a recruiting crisis as the people most apt to enlist were dissuaded from doing so by the woke DEI policies implemented by political players in Washington. (The same, by the way, is true of the Boy Scouts. “Inclusivity” has a way of excluding the base.)

Fortunately, since Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth dropped a bunker-buster bomb on DOD DEI, recruiting has soared. From removing diversity quotas to eliminating climate initiatives, Hegseth’s reforms have begun remolding the Pentagon and the entire Armed Forces into something great once again. The military’s purpose is not to be a genital-obsessed pridefest. It’s to fight and win wars.

So, do I feel sorry for the 10 people highlighted by The Woke Washington Post? Yes, but only because their mental health struggles and poor life choices have led to a career crisis that they did not expect. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
