Ratcliffe vs. the Deep State
Former CIA Director John Brennan overrode senior CIA Russia specialists who told him the Steele dossier was garbage and should be ignored, ordering it to be included in the 2016 election analysis.
CIA Director John Ratcliffe is taking on another threat to our Republic — the Deep State.
When Ratcliffe assumed the leadership of the CIA, he immediately ordered a review of the Intelligence Community’s 2016 analysis on Russia’s attempts to interfere in the election between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
That review has now been declassified. Ratcliffe summarized the review, writing on social media:
“Today’s report underscores that the 2016 IC Assessment was conducted through an atypical & corrupt process under the politically charged environments of former [CIA] Dir. Brennan & former FBI Dir. Comey.
"All the world can now see the truth: Brennan, Clapper and Comey manipulated intelligence and silenced career professionals — all to get Trump. Thank you to the career CIA officers who conducted this review and exposed the facts.”
Among the revelations from the new report is the fact Brennan overrode senior CIA Russia specialists who told him the Steele Russia collusion dossier was garbage and should be ignored.
Over their objections, Brennan ordered the dossier to be included in the 2016 election analysis to justify the absurd claim that Russia favored Trump’s election and worked on his behalf.
However, in public statements to the media and in testimony before Congress, Brennan has repeatedly insisted that he never read the dossier and dismissed its relevance, saying that the dossier “was not in any way used as a basis for the Intelligence Community Assessment that was done.”
As recently as 2023, Brennan told members of Congress, “I was not involved in analyzing the dossier at all… And the CIA was not involved at all with the dossier. You can direct that to the FBI and to others.” He went on to state that the FBI wanted the dossier included in the Intelligence Community Assessment, not the CIA.
But with that intelligence assessment in hand, then-FBI Director James Comey waged a jihad against the new Trump administration. One former CIA agent who worked under Brennan wrote, “My former boss —CIA Director John Brennan — should rot in prison.”
Former CIA Director Brennan could be facing perjury charges any day now.
