Who loves the Democrat Party today? Maybe the better question would be who doesn’t like the Democrat Party?

A recent AP-NORC poll found that even among party faithful, there is a consistently diminished view, especially since Donald Trump’s reelection. The poll found that just 70% of Democrats viewed the party favorably.

That poll’s findings appear to confirm Gallup’s, which recently found that Democrats’ view of their own party is the lowest since Gallup first began surveying the question in 2001.

When the question is asked of independents and Republicans, the bottom nearly falls out: Just 20% of independents and 10% of Republicans have a favorable view of the Democrat Party. While both parties are viewed negatively by the majority of Americans, the Democrats are viewed as worse, with 61% viewing them negatively compared to 58% for the GOP.

Interestingly, while Republicans have long contended with the public holding an overall negative view of the party — because Republican voters are more critical of their own party than Democrat voters are — it’s only since 2010 that Democrats have moved into unfavorable territory.

Much of that negativity is likely due to two factors.

The first is that legacy media outlets, which have always favored Democrats over Republicans, lost their stranglehold on the news Americans consume. With the rise of social media came new media and a burgeoning industry of citizen journalism, helping expose and blow up legacy media’s narrative control apparatus.

This has most negatively impacted the Democrats because they could no longer rely upon the power of their legacy media defending and pushing their preferred narratives to persuade the American public. Furthermore, while much of the legacy media still runs cover for Democrats, social media truth hunters move faster than legacy media can manage.

The legacy media has itself been exposed as little more than shills for the Democrat Party, and as a result, it too has lost favorability and trust of the public.

The second and arguably biggest reason for negative views of the Democrat Party is that it has married itself to an increasingly hardcore radical leftist ideology. When it comes to commonsense issues like the reality of the gender binary, Democrats have inextricably sided with the nonsensical extremists of the gender-bending cult. They stand for transing the kids.

When it comes to abortion, Democrats have moved from “safe, legal, and rare” to a demand for abortion availability all the way up until birth. Given the Democrats’ advocacy on abortion, combined with their anti-human climate fanaticism, it would be a wonder if any child were born if their vision were ever fully realized.

Democrats used to believe in borders, but then they decided to take a hard-left, open-borders position, and have effectively taken the position that “no one is illegal.” Democrats advocate for alien criminals instead of the American victims of their crimes.

And when it comes to offering a positive view of America and our history, the Democrats don’t have one because they appear not to believe there is anything positive or great about America. They have so thoroughly bought the inherently Marxist and anti-American critical theory that they can’t be persuaded that America is a great country. Furthermore, they feign commitment to Christianity, only to chide Biblically committed Christians for not supporting their blatantly non-Biblical views on abortion and sexual deviancy and to berate patriotic Americans for their supposed lack of empathy.

This negative-based grievance politics has been the Democrats’ modus operandi. It seems impossible for them to offer a positive, inspiring view of the future. Instead, they prattle on about ridiculous things like reparations, DEI, and preferred pronouns.

In short, Democrats have become a party of extremists, leftists, and losers. It’s no wonder many Americans don’t like them.
