‘The Real Housewives of Minneapolis’

After watching anti-ICE protests night after night, I think there should be a series about Minneapolis housewives.

I am not a fan of the “Real Housewives” soap operas. While flipping through channels, I’ve seen a few takes of the program. My question is, where do they find such people?

Backbiting, gossip, and slandering each other — is this how successful women spend their time? If American families really are like this, we’re in more trouble than I thought. Who would go on a nationally syndicated program and show the nation how vapid and shallow they are?

After watching the anti-ICE protests in Minneapolis night after night, I think there should be a series about Minneapolis housewives. The lead role should go to Gov. Tim Walz’s wife, Gwen, famous for her comments during the George Floyd riots that destroyed a large part of the city. Gwen said she opened her windows to take in the smell of burning tires.

What a role model she must be to young women in Minnesota. Her husband, who loves all things communist, must be proud! Reminds me of Robert Duvall’s (RIP) character in “Apocalypse Now” (the worst Vietnam movie ever) saying, “I love the smell of napalm in the morning.” If you’ve ever been on the battlefield, you know how lame that is!

Back to the “Real Housewives” theme. There are plenty of videos of women following ICE officers, screaming at them, and dropping the f-bomb every other word. Do they have children at home? Is this the example they want to set for them and other young women? I can at least understand the poor vocabulary. Public schools in Minneapolis rank near the bottom of the list in test scores.

My friends at The Patriot Post have posted great commentary on the ICE protests and the complete insanity of it. Significantly more illegal alien apprehensions have taken place in Texas than in Minnesota. Where are the riots in Texas? Where are the barricades, signs, and foul language? Anyone? Bueller?

I understand leftists’ reactions to political leaders of a certain communist persuasion. They’re responding to their rhetoric. Those politicians are just following the Saul Alinsky model spelled out in Rules for Radicals. It has always been about power, no matter the wreckage left behind.

The same scenario is being played out in Democrat-run cities across the country. You can’t reason with people when they have been programmed to feel, not to think. They’re no longer rational. I’ve written about this before, but as crazy as things seem to be headed, especially as we head toward the midterm elections, we need to be reminded: This is a spiritual problem, and only spiritual solutions will change anything.

Looking back over the great moves of God in our nation’s history, the two Great Awakenings came at a time when our nation was in moral and spiritual decay. The solution? Christians began to pray, and God moved in answer to their prayers. Each Great Awakening shook our nation to its very foundation. Everything that could be shaken was shaken.

Revivals spread across the nation, shaking entire cities, restoring America’s moral compass, and taking the Church back to its “first love” (Revelation 2:4-5). You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that our moral compass is broken. But there’s hope on the horizon. A hunger for God is growing among our youth and young adults. They are filling their empty lives with a fresh faith in Jesus Christ.

It’s going to take effort on the part of us who call ourselves Christians. If we really believe God changes lives, then we need to be out in the public arena sharing the goodness of God. Time to quit whining and put on the “whole armor of God” (Ephesians 6:10-17).

Something to pray about!
