Feds Raid Somali Learing Centers

After months of hand-wringing from the state’s fraud-enabling leadership, federal agents finally raided Minnesota’s Somali-run, taxpayer-swindling enterprise.

Don’t look now, but Minnesota might have to put a stop order on those new “Land of 10,000 Somali Pirates” license plates.

Yesterday, federal agents conducted a — let’s face it — long-overdue, court-authorized raid of more than 20 Quality Learing Cent-, er, childcare facilities in and around Mogadish-, er, Minneapolis. As Fox News reports, the raids were “part of a sweeping fraud investigation into largely Somali-owned businesses.” It sounds like the feds mean business. According to reports, the agents even brought a battering ram with them.

As Vice President and Fraud Czar JD Vance tersely put it, “The task force and the DOJ will be relentless in exposing these fraudsters wherever they may be hiding.”

Let’s hope so. This is no way to run a state — or a country, for that matter, given that Medicaid is funded jointly by taxpayers from Minnesota and the other 49 states. And unlike our nation’s previous vice-presidential czar, VP Vance seems far less interested in navel-gazing about “root causes” than actually rooting out the wrongdoers. Indeed, ferreting out fraud and abuse is an idea whose time should’ve come long before Donald Trump and the DOGE boys arrived on the scene. After all, reports of Somali-orchestrated fraud in Minneapolis have been circulating for more than a decade.

And yet, Minnesota remains weirdly and stubbornly blue. All that might change, though, now that so many Minnesota Nicers realize they’ve been swindled out of untold billions by the same Somali immigrants they began welcoming into their state some 30 years ago.

Am our Somali friends learing their lesson? Let’s hope so.

As the Appropriated Press reports, “The searches were being conducted at day cares, businesses and some residences, according to [cut-paste here] a person familiar with the matter who spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to publicly discuss the investigation.”

I’m not sure what the feds expect to find there. I mean, if I were the head pirate in charge, I’d have long since made sure any incriminating files were safely squirreled away in Tim Walz’s garage, right under the “manual” he uses to fake-fix that vintage truck he never drives. Anyway.

The AP also noted that the valor-thieving former unpaid assistant high school football coach “welcomed the raids,” which is precisely what complicit politicians say when they’ve reached rock bottom and are told by their handlers to stop digging.

Walz then added this howler: “We catch criminals when state and federal agencies share information. Joint investigations work, and securing justice depends on it.” Yeah, sure, except when federal agencies are trying to round up illegal alien criminals — in which case Minnesota’s state and local authorities tell the federal agencies to “get the f*** out.”

If the Pulitzer Prize were worth its weight in scrap metal, Nick Shirley would be up for one this year. But according to the arrogant opinion-shapers at the AP, Shirley isn’t even a journalist. He’s nothing more than a “right-wing influencer.”

Speaking of the AP, it couldn’t resist taking a swipe at Donald Trump, dutifully noting that the president “has used dehumanizing rhetoric, calling Somali immigrants ‘garbage’ and ‘low IQ.’”

Here, I might note that while “garbage” is indeed a dehumanizing term, “low IQ” is a thoroughly humanizing term. After all, we don’t measure the IQs of eels and snakes and vermin and cockroaches. And as for “garbage,” that term well might be dehumanizing, but it doesn’t have quite the same assassination-inspiring ring to it that, oh, say, “Hitler” and “Nazi” and “tyrant” and “despot” and “authoritarian” and “totalitarian” and “fascist” and “racist” and “white supremacist” and “domestic terrorist” and “pedophile” and “homophobe” and “transphobe” and “existential threat to our democracy” have, now does it?

I’ll close on a word of warning: If the greater Minneapolis community of middle-aged white leftist rabble-rousers hears of these raids and races to the Somali pirates’ defense, World War Eleven might break out.
