Rainbow Mafia policy preferences mean that anything a woman can do, a man dressed as a woman can do better. How many times have we seen a man win some “woman of the year” award now? Today’s subject is the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

Founded in 1996, the WNBA played its inaugural game a year later. The league did not become profitable until 29 years later. Making a profit is generally the whole point for a capitalistic enterprise, but in the WNBA’s case, the message that women can do anything men can do had to be subsidized by the men’s league, the NBA. That’s why the pay gap kerfuffle is so idiotic.

Finally reaching profitability in 2025 came thanks to fans turning out to watch Caitlin Clark, the young phenom who plays for the Indiana Fever. She’s a straight white woman, however, which means she’s been targeted for abuse by the lesbians of color who dominate the league. We’ve written a few times about Clark’s struggles. Maybe generating controversy really has panned out for the league.

I spent more time this morning trimming a hangnail than I have ever spent watching the WNBA, so I don’t speak as a fan. Nothing against women — I just don’t like basketball. Sue me.

What does interest me, however, is the gender debate.

Our Emmy Griffin recently wrote here and here about Sophie Cunningham, Clark’s teammate, and the squabble over whether men dressed as women should be able to play in the women’s league — or any female sports. Cunningham says women’s sports are for women. Though she’s among the nearly 90% of Americans who agree, she is evidently one of the precious few WNBA players, coaches, or owners who is willing to defend the W in the league’s name.

Which brings me to the news: Clay Travis, talk radio host and founder of the OutKick sports website, made the WNBA two offers. One of them was a tongue-in-cheek idea for a team composed entirely of trans players. “The Nashville Balls,” Travis teased, would be “a 100% trans organization — men finally breaking the glass ceiling in women’s sports!”

I would link to his X post, but the comments quickly devolved into a crude jokefest about other potential team names. I can neither confirm nor deny that I laughed.

And what a great idea! If men can play in a women’s league, why not give them their own team? And not just like The Daily Wire did in its movie “Lady Ballers.”

Travis also made a more serious offer: “$10 million … for a head-to-head basketball game between the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces and a boy’s [sic] high school state title team of my choice. If the Aces beat my team, I will give them $10 million.”

According to Fox News, the Aces have “an estimated annual revenue of $33 million” after winning three of the last four WNBA championships. In other words, $10 million is a ton of money.

As of this writing, the Aces haven’t taken the offer. In fact, the WNBA has done what no group of women has ever done in the history of humanity: remain silent.

“High school boys teams across the country are reaching out wanting to play the WNBA champ Las Vegas Aces,” Travis later posted. “But the Aces are silent. Tells you everything. They know they would get smoked. But men should definitely be allowed to play in their league per coaches. Such a joke.”

Travis’s offer isn’t unprecedented. In 2017, the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team lost 5-2 in a scrimmage against an under-15 boys’ squad. The U.S. Women’s Team has won four World Cup titles, including in 2015 and 2019 — on either side of losing to the boys.

The whole reason women’s sports exist is because of the biological differences between men and women. There won’t be any female point guards in the NBA or lady quarterbacks in the NFL. Why, then, do mediocre male athletes insist on taking a woman’s spot in a women’s league? Even more perplexing is why women go along with such insanity.

This isn’t theoretical in basketball. Right now in France, you can watch a 34-year-old, 6-foot-3-inch dude dominate a women’s basketball league. “Julie” Tétart leads the league in points and rebounds. Why isn’t some WNBA team scooping him up? Surely one of those team owners sporting a “trans rights” T-shirt can live out her principles and make history.

“If they contact me, I won’t say no,” Tétart said. “But you have to be realistic: I’m old, and there are far better players than me!”

He can pretend to be humble, but the issue here isn’t age or even skill. It’s sex. Men and women are different, and when it comes to sports, fairness isn’t served by mixing the two. The product is better for both sexes without the gender pathology.

President Donald Trump offered his hilariously keen insight on the subject: “I’d be the greatest woman’s basketball coach ever,” Trump said. “I don’t like LeBron James, I like Michael Jordan much better. But I’d go up to LeBron James, it doesn’t matter, I’d say, ‘LeBron, have you ever had any desire to be a woman? Because what I’d love you to do is star on my team that I’m building up.’ I will have the greatest team in history; they’ll never lose. Nobody will come within 70 points of this team.”

Talk about dunking on the opposing team.
