DNC Chief Debbie Wasserman Schultz sounded off on Lois Lerner’s appearance before Congress this week, saying she was “stunned” at Lerner’s treatment at the hands of Rep. Darrell Issa, who’s leading the investigation into the targeting of conservative groups by the IRS. She compared Issa turning off the mic for Elijah Cummings to “dictators … shutting down the opposition” in Venezuela and Ukraine. Furthermore, she said, the investigation is pointless because, “The director of the IRS has lost his job over it. Lois Lerner lost her job over it. Heads rolled, as they should have.” Indeed, then acting commissioner Steven Miller did resign last year – but only weeks ahead of his retirement. And Lerner actually did retire, full pension and benefits intact. So whose heads rolled, exactly?
