Will the arguments against legalizing marijuana go up in smoke after politicians see these numbers? Colorado has been riding a Rocky Mountain high from all the taxes the people who are going steady with Mary Jane. Weed, as it turns out, is lucrative. Colorado has $17.9 million more in its coffers since legalizing recreational marijuana. The Colorado Gazette reports, “An estimate from the Colorado Department of Revenue showed that Colorado made about $5.3 million from medical and recreational pot taxes and fees in April. That’s up from about $5 million in March.” We wonder if that will give politicians the munchies for even more revenue. More…
