ObamaCare Challengers Appeal Subsidy Ruling
Last week, two appellate courts issued contrary rulings in cases involving the legality of ObamaCare subsidies on the federal exchange. The law says only state exchanges can issue them, Democrats say the federal one can too. The challengers who lost King v. Burwell before the Fourth Circuit Court have appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. The petition demands resolution for health insurance buyers, insurance companies, employers, and even the government, which may be wrongly paying out millions of dollars. Meanwhile, Harry Reid went with the nuclear option in the Senate so judges could be more easily confirmed, particularly to the DC Circuit Court. That court’s three judge panel ruled against Obama’s interpretation of the law, and he may yet seek an en banc ruling with his now-packed court. The Supreme Court needs to settle the dispute. More…
