Former White House mouthpiece Jay Carney did what the Left always does: Blame Bush. Speaking about the “desire by some to commit the United States to an open-ended war” in Iraq, Carney insisted, “There’s no appetite in the United States for that.” It’s largely a straw man, but more to the point, Carney blamed Bush, saying, “[W]e are here today because of the decisions made to invade Iraq more than a decade ago.” We suppose that’s arguable, but we’d make the case instead that we are here today because Barack Obama deliberately and politically *abandoned* Iraq instead of securing U.S. interests.
