Leftmedia Finally Covers Planned Parenthood Videos
Thanks to their compulsive need to "correct" Carly Fiorina.
In last week’s debate, Carly Fiorina had one of the great moments of the night when she compared national security vis a vis Iran with national character regarding Planned Parenthood. It proved even greater when the Leftmedia covered the quote — because, until now, most mainstream media outlets have virtually ignored the videos of Planned Parenthood executives talking about selling aborted baby parts. Since Fiorina discussed it with a national audience, however, they have spent the last week “fact checking” her statement, claiming she was lying about what was in the videos. “Watch a fully formed fetus on the table, its heart beating, its legs kicking while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain,” Fiorina said. Leftists claim no one spoke of “harvesting the brains” of any pictured babies. But a baby of roughly the same gestational age as those being discussed by former StemExpress “procurement technician” Holly O'Donnell was shown while she described harvesting organs. Yet Leftmedia abortion apologists decried Fiorina’s comments as “pure fiction” or “mostly false.” LA Times columnist Michael Hiltzik even claimed it’s time for Fiorina to apologize to Planned Parenthood.
But Jonah Goldberg explains that Fiorina’s description is “akin to a documentary maker interviewing a witness to Cecil the Lion getting shot, and using footage of another lion getting shot as an illustration.” Never mind that, Goldberg continues: “Fiorina’s critics want to claim that because she didn’t take into account these distinctions, she’s just making stuff up. To this end they’ve become Jesuitical nitpickers, muddying the water to conceal the fact that late-term abortions offend the conscience when discussed or displayed with anything like journalistic accuracy. That’s probably why we get so little of it.”
When was the last time the Leftmedia correctly described, much less depicted, what an abortion entails? It’s always a “clump of tissue,” or the “product of conception,” or some other euphemism to completely avoid the fact that we’re talking about killing babies. And we’re not exactly holding our breath for Planned Parenthood to apologize or stop its organ-harvesting schemes.
